We had a dinner party planned but I thought I'd use a spare hour to replace a leaky dual shutoff valve to the washing machine. The main valve to the house closed OK but the stem broke when I went to open it back up. So.............no water on a Saturday night and guests were already in the house! Shane gave some great advice to try and get water back on so we wouldn't have to pay an overtime call-out but the valve wouldn't cooperate and the technician was here in less than 30 minutes. 30 minutes after that, he had the valve replaced and water back on. Dinner was on the table as scheduled. This is the highest quality outfit with the best craftsman I have found in this area. The craftsman was highly professional, extremely fast, and a great guy! Would have liked for him to stay for dinner. The price was very reasonable and Shane clearly runs a customer-service oriented business. I didn't think there were any of these businesses left in California. I told Shane that the house is starting to fall apart and he'll be our first call from now on. These guys are truly fantastic!! Oh, and that dual shut-off valve? Well, yeah, I replaced it myself and it started to leak 3 days later. I called Letts. The first question they asked was "Is this an emergency?" Well, not really, just a pinhole leak...........so I was transferred to a plumber who told me exactly how to prep everything so that the craftsman could come in and do the job quickly. The field guy called to give me an update on the status of the job he was on and then, because things were going awry on THAT job, Shane showed up at my door. Great guy! He tried a quick-fix that worked, and was headed out the door within 20 minutes - no charge. Really, not kidding - no charge to fix my inept attempt at DIY plumbing. As he was driving away I know I had that "deer in the headlights" look on my face with my jaw dropped in awe. Seriously..............NO CHARGE and he was even quite supportive of my attempt to do it myself. Next time, I'm calling Letts first thing. read more

I needed to replace the toilets and a kitchen faucet in my house. The last time I used a plumber I was very dissatisfied (the guy didn't do a good job, and he had a terrible attitude about being here). I first went to General Plumbing Supply in Walnut Creek - their showroom, and their sales people worked with me to get the items that would be the most efficient in my home (thanks Jason!) I asked for recommendations for a GOOD plumber - I had asked friends/co-workers, but didn't really come up with any company or person that sounded reliable. I actually went to the 'Nextdoor' website for Pacheco/Martinez and Lett's was HIGHLY recommended. Lett's was also recommended by General Plumbing Supply. Andy came out to replace the toilets and the kitchen faucet - OMG - he was fast, efficient, you could tell he KNEW what he was doing, and I am beyond thrilled with Lett's!!! They (Andy), will now be my 'go to' plumber when needed. He cleaned up when he was done, you couldn't even tell he had been there. He was PLEASANT, he even told me that he was not charging me what had been originally estimated (almost $800), I only paid about $515 - he said well, until we get there, we don't know what we might have to do, or what issues might have to be fixed. Now THAT is HONESTY!!!!! I'm sure other places would not have been honest, they would have just told me I owed the almost $800. For the work that was done, I had no problem with what I was charged. Just read a recent review of Letts Plumbing that is SO the opposite of my many eperiences with them I had to post my own review. Not only have I used Letts Plumbing at my home several times, but as the Facilities Manager at my church I have used them at least 10+ times in the last several years. They have fixed everything from shower and main line problems at my house to faucet/toilet/irrigation/kitchen grease trap (we have a commercial kitchen) problems at work and they have always done an outstanding job. Some times I have called them for a job that turned out to be bigger than I expected, (which ended up costing me more), and other times the job would be so simple they would only charge me for parts and a minimum service charge. I have dealt directly with Shane, Tim and several other employees and every one of them have been knowledgeable, professional, and did a great job.Nothing in the negative review even closely resembles my experiences. So much so, that I have to believe that it is either a bogus review written by a competitor or a rant by a customer who is out of touch with reality. That is what is so tough about these kind of review sites. People can write anything anonymously and there is no way to refute it by the business. Well I'm not anyonymous. Office calls come up as spam which is very frustrating so you have to go back through the answering service with long wait times We have used Letts a handful of times. We selected them as our plumber initially because they charge on a time and materials basis. We thought that was honest and really great. Recently we had a tech out and we feel as if he really drug the appointment out. He called a supervisor multiple times and even was questioning if he needed a different machine which he never got. It took him an hour to "determine best course of action" and another 2 hours to pull our toilet and rooter it. We asked he clear the clean out to the city main and he told me that was not needed as the clog was in the primary bathroom only. I felt dismissed but that was the main reason for the call was to clear the lines. We live near huge trees and we know the presence of roots is always an issue so we try to get preventative maintenance to keep those to a minimum. He recommended a crawl inspection. I'm not sure why he didn't do that while he was here. Presumably so they can get another service call. We called another company out to crawl and snake all the clean outs on the property since Letts was clearly uninterested. Disappointing. read more

We called Letts Plumbing today based solely on their yelp reviews and were not disappointed. We called at 2:30 and left a message with their answering service saying that we had a clogged kitchen sink--that it wasn't an emergency, but they'd have someone give us a call. At 3:30, Steve called and said he'd be there between 4 and 5pm. He came on time, was very professional and friendly. He was very considerate and clean with his work area....and most importantly, he got the job done in a very efficient and timely manner. I also liked that he kept us informed as he went with what he was doing and the progress he was making....the options he was checking and so on. While he was here my husband had Steve look at another problem that had been bugging him in the master bathroom and he gladly took a look at that and ended up solving a low-flow problem that had been an issue since we had first moved into our house! In the end he didn't have to charge us anything for parts, only the cost of his time/labor. A very professional service and a job well-done! So of course when something's wrong or you want to find something great and useful, where do you go? Yelp! Definitely glad I came here for my plumbing issues where I found Letts. The water in my shower would turn from very hot to very cold literally every 10 seconds. I hated taking showers, ha. If that wasn't bad enough, my kitchen sink plugged up so much. Not even the toughest Drano could help. So I called Letts and a couple guys came over, Tim and Sean. Both great guys; honest, respectful, VERY helpful, and all around very awesome. They got the job done fairly quickly, which was great, and said there were no major problems. Just fixed the sink and shower and job was done! They showed me why I was having problems and talked me through the process. Even gave me some helpful tips for the shower and sink, and all around plumbing, which I'm grateful for. Now I can fix my annoying light sculpture all by myself ;). Thank you Tim and Sean, and of course, Letts! Pricing is very reasonable. They only take cash or check, but again, totally understandable, and shouldn't be a big deal. read more

Last Sunday I called out Benjamin F Plumbing because of a leak in the bathroom that was causing my floor to buckle. Plumber came out and said it was the drain in tub that was leaking. He went into the crawl space came out and said it was too wet to make any repairs. Get a restoration company to take care of the water, then he can fix the problem. He said to call ARC, and I said I would run this by my insurance co. They said no, we do business with Mark Scott. MS came out the next day and went into the crawl space and said it was dry. I called Benjamin F and asked to have the Mgr. call me back, he did not, I cancelled my contract and they sent me my deposit of 100.00 back. The quote for this job was over 1200.00. Lett Family Plumbing came out the next day, Eddie said no water under the house. He fixed my problem which was the tub drain. He was very efficient and was amazed and disgusted at my story. He did the job for 250.00!!! Bottom line I will no longer do business with Benjamin Franklin and I hope you won't either. read more

I found Letts plumbing here on this site. I live in Ohio but my folks live in concord. They were having some plumbing issues and kept hiring plumbers that just just took advantage of them and didnt fix the problem right. I contacted Shane Letts from here in ohio and he was very nice and informative, very helpful. I was just out visiting my folks and there was a plumbing problem, so I called Shane. He came out the next day and gave me an estimate, said he could be back the next day to take care of it. I was heading back to ohio so I couldnt be there when the work was done. However my brother was, he said they did an excellent job, left the place clean and was done sooner than they had thought. THe bill was more than fair. But the most important thing is that Shane is a man of his word and he cares, he made my mom and dad very happy. Thank you so much Shane you are good people . In October 2017, I called regarding a vinegar flush of my tankless water heater and Shane returned the call. I explained that I had an appointment with another plumbing company, but I appreciate the fact that Shane spent 25 minutes on the phone with me, sharing valuable information (e.g. the other company should not use vinegar, and will probably use Flo-Aide). The other company did not ask how many people were using water in the household, but Shane did. Since my consumption was on the low side, he said that a flush every 5-6 years (instead of the industry standard of every 2-3 years) would be appropriate. When the other plumber showed up, one of the first things he said to me was that I needed to do this every year! Thanks to the information Shane provided, I knew better. i called Lett's- phone staff is friendly and helpful. Andy called back and scheduled an appointment to evaluate what i needed- replace 2 toilets, 2 sets of faucets and a garbage disposal. i was given an estimate which sounded fair and reasonable. Andy and Clay came- arrived promptly-said it would take 5-6 hours. I was updated constantly of their progress. When they encountered an issue, it was clearly explained and i was given the choice to continue knowing there could be additional expense. Andy and Clay were beyond professional. They have pride in their work, respect your property and I appreciated every step of the process through their honesty. I now have- 2 working toilets, that won't flood, hot and cold water from the faucets and a new disposal. I've shared my story with many people. My home is 1952-vintage, with probably mostly-original main plumbing. The tub and sink (in the only bathroom) had been draining slowly for weeks. Didn't have time to take time off from work to deal with it. Until I tried running a load of wash, and sewage backed up in the (only) tub. Enter Andy and Eddie, who were on time, up-front about the cost, and got the blockage cleared in about 90 minutes. And extracted 5-6' feet of plumber's snake (broken off in a couple of pieces) from the tub's line, left behind by a previous plumber from another company. (!!!!) They were efficient, and professional, and really tried to clean the gunk out of the tub. And they were funny! When I told them they were my heroes, one quipped "Saving the world, one toilet at a time!" Andy also gave me some good advice, for future repairs. Bless 'em!!! read more

I called Letts Plumbing at 4pm with a leaking toilet. Shane said that he had a guy finishing up a job in Walnut Creek, and that since I lived so close to their office, he would have him stop by my house on the way back. Patrick called about 5 minutes later, and said that he would arrive in 5-10 minutes, which he did. Turns out the toilet just needed to be reseated on a new wax seal, but he checked out EVERYTHING (bottom of the toilet itself, the iron flange on the floor, etc.) before he finished the job. He cleaned up perfectly, and was out the door about 5pm. Whoa! The price was very reasonable... exactly what was quoted at the beginning... and I couldn't be happier. Letts is going to get all my plumbing work from now on. These guys are skilled and very professional plumbers. I highly recommend them. read more

He is always so professional, actually takes his time to make sure he's being thorough & is so friendly! NEVER A RUSHED JOB WITH HIM!! Don Letts arrived within an hour of my non-emergency call. The leaky bathroom faucet leaked despite the shutoff turned tight. With efficiency he speedily raplaced the nipples and valve and suggested where to go to replace the falulty stem. He added a water hose under my kitchen sink for an ice-water line to the fridge. All work well; I'm very satisfied - will use Letts again and recommend them to friends. (When I mentioned a silly little English ditty don't you know, head in the undersink cupboard, legs hanging out, he sang me the Lunatic Asylum the way I'd heard it - a delightful gentleman with a lovely accent and great philosophy. I interviewed 6 plumbers, he had all if not more things he wanted to cover with his quote, did the work in half the time and did it at half the price that the original plumber quoted me when the problem was diagnosed. He delivered his quote in the timeframe that he promised while others took 3-7 days later. Plus, Shane kept me in the loop every step of the way during the work with updates. I would hire this guy in a heartbeat for any job. After 14 years of service from other plumbing companies for yearly tree root cleaning I highly recommend Letts Plumbing. Derrick came to service call yesterday not only on time but with a friendly pleasant attitude. His equipment was very clean and that is how he worked. Job was done within the time allotted and also remained at the price quoted. I appreciated being given a quote ahead of time instead of saying the technician had to give me a price on arrival and I could accept it or decline.
