Very accommodating to special dietary requests and equivalent substitutions. Lays chips seemed out of place with higher end presentation, but staff said extremely popular. Such an adorable place! We came as a family for lunch one afternoon and had a great time. The mismatched teapots and cups were so charming and the lemonade was delicious. My husband and I loved our meals but the kid's meals weren't the greatest. My son would have loved a grilled cheese option. They both settled for a PB&J which was so loaded with jelly that it squished out everywhere and made a huge mess. It had enough jelly for at least 4-5 sandwiches. We had to cut them into bite sized pieces to try to get our children to eat them with a fork. read more

Although it's a 45 minutes drive, I try to make it to Morris at least monthly and Letty Mae's is one of my first stops! An adorable tea room tucked in a quiet courtyard, it is an explosion of repurposed chic! Napkins and tablecloths are old linens, vintage hankie valences adorn the windows, vintage apron garlands drape from the ceiling. Everything is vintage, repurposed. Silverware, plates, cups, adorable table decorations. Now for the food! Daily sliders, two soups (cold strawberry, yum!), quiche, salads. Baked goods include Whoopi's pies, cup cakes, cake pops... they have hot and iced tea, lemonade-regular and strawberry! You won't go hungry. Service is very attentive, but sometimes large parties can tax the servers. There is both a first floor and second floor seating area, both allow for lots of looking at decor and people watching. This is a quaint and friendly mom and pop store. While there is a disability ramp, it is somewhat difficult to move around if you need a lot of room. There is split level seating with minimal seats on the main floor. I frequent this cafe as it has great coffee and a friendly atmosphere. There are a couple vegetarian options but I would love to see 1 or 2 more and a vegan item. We always have fun looking at the vintage decor. The women's bathroom is large if you need extra room for a walker or wheel chair. While I have seen a few men eat here with their wives, you see mostly women as patrons. It can become extremely loud when busy and difficult to hear one another. The owner is friendly and engaging and cares about your experience. Prices are moderate for the area, IMO. The waitresses are nice and do their best when busy. This place is great to visit during the French Hen Market but be prepared to wait for a long time for a seat unless you go early. They stop serving at 2pm. I really wish they were open past 2pm, even if they closed for 2 hours and reopened for early supper on fridays and Saturdays. I think they could make a lot of money on Friday and Saturdays, especially during morris events (car show, holiday events, etc...). I recommend going for lunch and coffee! read more

Here is a place that if someone in town didn't tell us about it we would have walked right past. You enter into the restaurant in the back of the building. We had to walk down an ally to get there. It looks like any other shop in downtown Morris. Once you get inside you feel like you are back at Grandma's house. You are greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello. It was quite busy, but don't let that discourage you. We waited no more than 5 minutes before we were seated(a party of 5). They took us to our table up a flight of stair to the second floor. My wife, daughter, two sons and I sat at a table in the corner of the restaurant. Our waitress (Amy) was at our table as soon as we sat down. She put silverware wrapped in cloth napkins out for each of us. Each napkin had a different pattern on it which made it unique. Then she brought over tea cups for each of us. She took our drink order. She then comes back with a little tea cup and tea pot filled with Strawberry Lemonade for my daughter. She was so excited to have her own little tea party at lunch. We ordered our lunch and then enjoyed the ambiance. Our lunch came shortly after we order. Maybe 10 to 15 minutes. My lunch was the special of the day a Reuben slider with a cup of soup and chips. The soup was mushroom tortellini. It was a great start to my meal. I took one bite of my sandwich and it was amazing. It was easily the best Reuben sandwich I have ever eaten. Everyone had a great lunch. If ever in the town of Morris stop in to Letty Mae's you will enjoy it from the time you walk in to the time you leave. read more

My daughter took me to Letty Mae's today for my birthday lunch. It's a very quaint little café the food was good the service was very good but I have to say, I had a half a sandwich and soup the portions were just right except for the sandwich it had so little egg salad on it that I couldn't even taste the egg salad also couldn't taste any blue cheese or bacon, sounded delicious on the menu but a big disappointment! Maybe it was because they were so busy. But for over $32 it should have been much better in my opinion. read more

One of my favorite spots to lunch in Morris. The decor is shabby chic with adorable mis-matched vintage tablecloths, teacups and silverware adding to the charm. Vintage kitchen aprons and kitchenware decorate the walls and space. My favorite item is their chicken salad with pecans and strawberry soup. In summer, they also have a fresh peach soup. If you're looking for something hot, their quiche of the day is good too. Get there early, as they don't take reservations for small parties. My daughters love it when I take them there. read more

GEM....Whether you go with girlfriends or with your spouse this is a gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is my favorite part! From the dishes, tables & chairs, and all around decor, you won't be disappointed. It's warm and inviting. I loved a table cloth and was able to purchase it right off the table. Let's not forget the food. Where do I start....The soups -my favorite thing on the menu! The sandwiches are all very fresh and tasty. Be aware, if there is an event going on in town you might have to wait a while to either be seated or to eat once you are seated. It can be painfully slow on a busy day. This place is amazing. The first time I went here for lunch with my mom we were just in awe of all of the little details. Striped and polka dotted aper straws for the drinks in ball jar glasses, real silver silverware, cloth floral napkins, beautiful decorations everywhere... everything was just adorable and the attention to detail was so cool. We had the blueberry pomegranate tea which was delicious. Adorable little teal teapot. We had the chicken pot pie soup which was so tasty, the strawberry chicken salad, and the turkey sandwich. Everything was fresh and homemade and we loved it all. The scones and muffins that come with the meals are amazing and just put this place over the top. I've had the chocolate chip muffin and the french toast muffin and both were to die for. Expect to take a leisurely lunch as they aren't super quick, but that's the point is to relax and enjoy yourself. Yesterday, a wonderful friend took me to Letty Mae's for a birthday treat and I was so impressed with the decor, food and very friendly attention from the hostess, server and the owner herself. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home. Loved hearing about the history, traditions and new beginnings from the new owner. We loved everything about it even though it was a drive for us, it was well worth it. Since we can no longer go to Pickwick's in Frankfort, Letty Mae's Tea Room will be our new favorite spot. read more

Love this special place for lunch! The decor reminds me of my great-grandmother's home: feminine and dainty, mindful of details. The food is delicious and fresh - I highly recommend the cold strawberry soup (they offer samples for the skeptical) and chicken salad sandwich with a strawberry lemonade! This is a special place to enjoy lunch with your girlfriends or the gals in your family - I recently enjoyed a two-hour lunch there with a friend, and never once did we feel rushed. There are fresh baked goods that I had no room for - but they looked decadent! Next time, I will definitely plan to save room for dessert or bring a cupcake home for later! Beautiful, vintage, airy atmosphere. Love the quaint decor and that there are two levels. The quiche was totally scrumptious! Fun tea flavors to choose from. Perfect for a special lunch party with your girls or with your mom. It's a place that makes you feel pretty and feminine. I threw a baby shower at Letty Mae's and would highly recommend it. Jan, the new owner, was easy to communicate with and very organized. I opted for the soup and 1/2 sandwich package; it included beverages and dessert as well. The price was very reasonable especially considering we had the whole place to ourselves and didn't have to decorate (I love their vintage decor!). The food- wow. The chicken salad sandwich (I forget the actual name of it) on a croissant was a big hit with my group and the colorful fruit garnish on the vintage plates really made the meal look special. Try the chicken pot pie soup- you'll thank me later. There were several choices for dessert but I chose 2 cakes- one chocolate and one vanilla. They. Were. Incredible. Fresh, obviously made with high quality ingredients and flavorful are how I'd describe them. One of my guests is a professional baker and she was floored. We were on out annual girls shopping trip and we eat here every year. We called at 11 to see if we could be seated at 1 and were told no because there were 2 large parties at the time we called. 2 hrs isn't enough time to have 2 large parties under control and seat others? Then we decided to stop in at 12:45 to see if anything had changed and were told no we couldn't be seated they stop serving at 2 and there wasn't enough time, I saw at least 2 empty tables outside. My husband and I visited recently, and we will pleasantlysurprised. The Tea Room is 2 floors, and decorated shabby chic with an extra Twist of cuteness. Tea is loose leaf, and you get your own pot. Lee's Sandwiches comma salad and soup for all delicious. We did have a piece of cake, at the end of our meal and it was the best cake I have ever tasted, very dense and full of flavor. It did take a long time for our food to come out, but the chef came out and apologize and explain the reason, which mean I understand and help us not be upset for waiting so long. I will also mention that my husband was one of the only men in the restaurant, but if you can get your husband to go, I think he'll enjoy it too! read more
