Came to this place twice with my coworkers- dine in & carry out. This is a little hidden gem in downtown Aurora and worth going to! The dining room is nicely decorated and the plating on the tables are beautiful. The staff is friendly and answered all our questions. I've ordered the salad, sandwiches and tea. The pear walnut salad is phenomenal! Highly recommend and would return.

    Several teas to choose from

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time at Calla Lily Victorian tea room. The owner Tonya and her partner were wonderful. The tea was superb and the food was delicious. We had a three tier delight. The fruit was wonderful with the little eclairs and lemon bars were so good and the sandwiches were just delicious. Brenda had a wonderful birthday and the ambience of this tea room was delightful treasure. Aurora is lucky to have such a wonderful place. The tea room itself is beautiful from the dishes to the tables and chairs to all the little extras they do to make you feel so special. I would highly recommend going there, especially with your girlfriends.

A great place to meet up with friends and chat away while having Tea and Snacks. Had 3 different Teas to try: Hibiscus, Green tea with hint of Mango, and Black tea. Had a tower of snacks; 3 different kinds of sandwiches, sweets, and fruits and scones with homemade spread. Make sure to make reservations. The waitress told us it gets really busy during the fall through winter. Great place to have a bridal or baby shower. Also there is parking on the streets in front and there is a parking lot really close too.

By god who knew tea could be cool? Calla Lily is the most prim and proper place in Aurora for lunch. It of course has teas. Also there's small bites to eat. They also have teabags for retail. Came with the girl for an unexpectedly good brunch. It was appropriate to have brunch here. They seem to get the most business in the later morning hours and are only open until the early afternoon or so. It also is kind of like a store in addition to a cafe. There's teabags, clothing, and other stuff for sale. We had the Citrus Spice. It's $3.50 and comes in a kettle. This is an organic green tea with lemons and exotic spices. It made me feel good on a very cold day. The menu isn't vegetarian friendly, which is the bad thing. For the food we each got a Spring Mix Salad. It's $6.50 for a small. This has carrots, cucumbers, onions, sweet peppers, and tomatoes. It's okay but there's not a lot. The food options aren't the main thing so we expected that. Get some classy European tea and other fine items. It's also like a store. There's some cheaper stuff but there's also more expensive high class things.

The chicken lemon rice soup tasted as homemade as you can get for a restaurant. Delicious.

Beautiful, very tastefully designed restaurant. Elegant tables with full tea settings (although I had coffee). My pear walnut salad was light and delicious. The chicken lemon rice soup tasted as homemade as you can get for a restaurant. Very light and flavorful. Myron the part owner was super nice. Really nice lunch while supporting the local guys.

Wonderful time with my favorite person at work who loves English afternoon Tea. The more you drive towards location the more deserted it looks in far off Aurora but when you finally walk in calla lily it's a pleasant surprise. The teas arranged in beautiful jars , tables and chairs almost Victorian. Well kept and neat family establishment with nice things like tea cosys variety of gifts . The high tea experience was so fun the scones were buttery good and everything tasted delicious. The cucumber sandwiches and best chicken salad sandwiches with cranberry chutney. Enjoyed our time there the , owner Marion was patient with us and his son chef Ryan who is shy came and said hello. Highly recommend this hidden gem!!

    The pot that kept spilling

A couple ladies and I chose Calla Lily as a birthday lunch spot; none of us had ever been before. It's a cute little place in what's a rather sad part of old Aurora (not much else on the street except a taqueria down the block; the area seems to be crying out for more businesses to open up). It's a small storefront filled with tables, and they all filled up by the time we were eating! Everything is charmingly mismatched, from the china to the furnishings (I loved the claw-foot table we sat at). Food was good with just a few hiccups. I ordered the ham, cheese and mushroom sandwich (tasty) and pear-walnut salad (had variety with candied walnuts and dried cranberries, but only a couple slivers of pear). My mother got the pear-walnut salad and added chicken, but it was too tough to cut (she commented on it to the server and he took it off her bill). My friend enjoyed her tomato basil soup and ham, cheese and mushroom panini. We had also ordered tea to start off with, which came in individual pots, but the spout of the pot my mother's came in poured in such a way so as to spill every time she tried to dispense the tea! Dessert was the best part: you can get regular or "dainty" portions (then you can order several!) And don't forget the scones! They come with lemon curd and clotted cream. There was only one server and when the place got full they really needed at least two. Also, he was doing the thing that bugs me with waiters: trying to remember the order without writing it down...except he was getting the dessert wrong from the start, so I suggested writing it (since we were ordering a variety of things and no one wants to get the wrong thing). Servers (& managers), hear me now: there is no shame in writing down orders! Better to get it correct! Overall, though, the food was impressive and it was nice that they strove to correct the error with my mother's salad. Hopefully Calla Lily will continue to bloom into a lovely dining experience!

My mom is in town for a visit and I thought she would enjoy a proper Afternoon Tea. This place was perfect! The food was delicious, the tea was wonderful and the atmosphere was very light and inviting. The staff was wonderful as well. We were there on a weekday afternoon (past the typical lunch time) and there weren't any other customers, but the staff said they get quite busy on weekends. I will be back! Thank you for a lovely afternoon with my mom.

This place is one of Aurora's best kept secret. If you love high tea or looking for a wonderful place for a tea party look no further. I recently had Tea with my granddaughter and I'd have to say Calla Lily Victorian Tea room definitely delivered. The ambiance was wonderful, open and sunny. There are variety of tea pots scattered throughout The restaurant. Along with a wide selection of tea available for purchase. The Afternoon Tea was delightful. The scones were great as well as the finger sandwiches. Each serving of afternoon tea comes with scones. They are served with clotted cream and lemon curd. The tier of cakes and sweets were as beautiful at is was tasty. I love that they had mini tea cups available for my granddaughter. She had homemade hot chocolate (she drank five cup said it was delicious). I'm so glad to find a place to get high tea close by. Traveling to Chicago isn't alway convenient. After coming to Calla Lily Victorian Tea room I would highly recommend it for anyone celebrating an occasion or to treat yourself afternoon tea. I think this has to be one of the best afternoon teas and the cherry on top was the reasonably price for afternoon and high tea.

Such a hidden treasure! Definitely recommend you give them a try. They roast all their meats used on the sandwiches/paninis! Soups are homemade, desserts and scones homemade, quiche homemade!!!! Pretty sure most of the salad dressings are homemade too!!

    Tea menu

Amazing! Came for high tea! Me and my friend loved coming here! I have gone to high teas all over the area and the offering of the different hors d'oeuvres and mini desserts is better than the drake downtown Chicago. I can't wait to come back! I plan on bringing my mom next time! last seating is at 2PM 11am - 3PM is there hours

I really enjoyed myself today with my family. We made a reservation for 6 people so table was a little crowded but we made due and it was fun! The decor is cute, the food was delicious, and the tea was good. The water wasn't as warm for the steeping so the darker teas lacked some flavor but it was good drinkable temperature. 3 of us did the leek soup and loved it. 2 of them did the barley soup and the guys said it was phenomenal. My dad had a cranberry walnut salad and was quite happy. Of the high tea, my favorite was the chicken salad but my mom and sister loved the egg salad and the cucumber salads more! However, all 6 of us agreed the little quiches were the best of all! Yummm. The desserts were good but as we had done sweeter teas everyone was a little done with sweets and most skipped to the scones (which were delicious). Definitely looking forward to coming back!

This was my first time there and I am surprised I haven't heard more people talking about it. I stopped in a little after 9:30pm to meet up with the rest of the group of 6 on a Saturday night. I didn't realize until I got there that my cousin's cousin who is a friend was actually bartending so that was a nice surprise because he's got a lot of experience. Our server was really nice and came up to our high top as I was looking over the drink menu to let me know that the kitchen would be closing soon in case we wanted to order any food but we had all already eaten. I do kind of wish that I had looked over the food menu though because some of the last plates I saw being served for the night looked pretty good. Both the server and our friend did a great job of checking in throughout the night with our party and the others. This was the same night as the Pride Celebration in Aurora that was literally just outside on Stolp Ave but it wasn't very busy for a while but a good amount of people trickled in for a nightcap after the show at the Paramount let out. The 2 drinks I had were really good. The first one was the featured cocktail: Naughty Nellie's Nectar which was a great Tiki-esque drink with spiced rum and bitters mixed with various fruit juices including passion fruit, guava, pineapple, and lime. It was right up my alley so I was a little sad when I went for a second one and the bartender said that they had run out of some of the ingredients but that he would make me the other drink on the menu that's similar, the Twilight Tixi. I liked that one a lot too. What really made the night great though was the chill and relaxing ambiance of the space. The nice lighting gave the mood of a mix between lounge, restaurant and bar. The music was good and although they had the TV above the bar playing the last game of the NBA finals it was not the focal point. I'm looking forward to more fun nights at Arthouse in the future.

Recently I tried the Ribeye (Medium Rare) and Mac and cheese for a very patriotic meal before the 4th of July. I really like the chimichurri sauce, hot tip - add a little to your Mac and cheese. So delicious. I'd say the steak could have used a little more of a crust but overall was still really yummy. The service is always wonderful, tonight Poncho was working and he always remembers my drink and makes my friends feel welcome. If you haven't been before the ambiance is really great. I challenged you go to in and find a new bad you haven't heard of, or count all the ones you recognize in the decor. I also really love the Arthouse Salad

I had the Majadito which is a beef/steak rice with eggs, plantains, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. A relatively simple dish when described, but the combination of flavors was delightful. And a big portion I ended up bringing some home to have for breakfast the next day. My uncle had the asada en olla, a roasted beef stew with rice that had my uncle pausing repeatedly to comment how delicious it was. And he is less of a foodie than I am, so for him to comment like that was a big compliment. We shared some steak and chicken empanadas. A bite of empanada with some of their house made hot sauce is a bite of heaven. Service was so sweet and kind, attentive but in a respectful way. This is truly a family run spot and I felt like I was a guest in their home being given a home cooked meal made with love. The restaurant is clean and cozy. The bathrooms included. And there is plentiful street parking in front and the surrounding areas. A gem in the suburbs that shouldn't be hidden. While I always look for them at the markets, I will definitely be back to this place.
