Went to the store & ordered a large Deluxe pizza with pineapple. They had a case with desserts & sodas, so, also got a can of A&W rootbeer, pumpkin cheesecake & tiramisu. All were absolutely fabulous! The pizza was loaded with toppings and the crust had a hint of sweetness and great chew. I would have given 5 stars, but when my pizza was ready, they set it on the warming plate even though I was sitting right there the whole time waiting for it. It sat there for at least 10 minutes before an employee asked my name & handed it to me. Yes, they were very busy for a Sunday afternoon, but I didn't order until I got to the store & was the only one hanging around waiting. Also, parking is almost nonexistent. Fortunately, I have a handicap parking permit and was able to park near the door. Unfortunately, they share close quarters with a popular restaurant next door that has no waiting area for their customers. Lucadia pizza has super fresh pizzas and salads. We love getting a pie and the Cobb salad. The crust and sauce is always good and tastes like it was just made that day. Same for the salads! The salads are big we usually get a half size and that's enough for two people to share. I'm a frequent Grubhub user and normally have a good experience. Today, when my Leucadia order was delivered, there was a small slice missing and the pizza was cold, not even lukewarm, not to mention, it was the wrong pizza. Tomato sauce gives me heartburn so doc says don't eat it. Five cheese pizza is supposed to have olive oil. What does didn't add? It looks more like one cheese, two max. Between email address confusion and being put on hold, when I finally spoke to the manager it'd already been a 15 min ordeal. I tell him. He blames GrubHub, calls their drivers sketchy and asks how far I live and then says ohhh that's too far for us to come to you.. I mean I could give a store credit but it's really on Grubhub - the girl who answered the phone cut that pizza and when it left here it was a full pizza. I said, "Ok, that's what I suspected, but you also gave me the wrong pizza - this has tomato sauce on it, which I can't have and it's burnt..." anyway, his solution: call Grubhub... I've been eating at Leucadia Pizzeria since they were located along the 101 in Leucadia (!) and have enjoyed delicious delivery from three of their restaurants since then. I wish I could continue to do so, but I'm sad to say I won't support this location anymore. In the past few months, I have experienced a varying, though always questionable, level of attention to sanitation and health safety when I've come in to pick up food. I have seen staff in and out of the kitchen not wearing masks properly and sometimes not at all, staff not wearing gloves, and staff not employing safe practices during pick-up/check out. They seem to only have one pen that they use for each guest, and I've never seen it be sanitized. Sometimes I tell them I won't sign my receipt--I mean we have an account and already pay online, so what gives? On my last visit I was handed a pen by an employee who wasn't wearing gloves. When I asked if I could sign with a clean pen, they laughed like I was making a joke. When I repeated myself, they were surprisingly flustered, and finally told me, "Don't worry, it's clean." "Maybe it was before we touched it," I said. And while I usually open my carry out bag for them to place my pies in directly, I was a bit slow on the draw this time and the manager/owner looked right at me, her mask askew, and she plopped them down on the counter. (When's the last time THAT was wiped down?) I know that some of my concerns may come across as "crazy," especially if you think Covid-19 is mostly hype. And I worry that's what the owner/manager of this location thinks. Too bad for everyone concerned. I gave them a chance to respond to my worries via email, but one week later, still haven't heard a thing. I'm sad to say it, but I'm moving on to another pizza joint. I recommend you stay healthy, and don't eat here until they clean up their act and show some concern for your, and their employees', well being. read more

I have been getting Leucadia pretty consistently since the last time I made a review and they have definitely made up for the lacking customer service I stated in my last review. I enjoy their pizzas and so does my 3 year old son. There's something about the dough that's pretty delicious. I do still feel the food isn't always consistent. I've ordered a few pasta dishes that were pretty bad with noodles so overcooked it's was like I was eating mush. I should know better and get pasta from next door but they get me with the lower prices. I guess you get what you pay for. I ordered take out and everything went extremely smooth. (Ordering online for immediate or delayed pick up could not be easier.) My pizza was piping hot when I arrived to pick it up right at my scheduled time. The pizza was delicious and the toppings were plentiful. I had paid online so after taking my name the employee handed me my receipt and pizza and I was out of there in about 1 minute flat. Really disappointing experience tonight, not only with Yelp but then directly with the restaurant. We have ordered from Leucadia for over 26 years (many different locations), and tonight they will not add the complimentary garlic bread. Called Grubhub and asked for them to add and was put on hold for 3 min and then told this was not an option. Flabbergasted I said I was surprised that I was spending over 70$ and they would not add it. They could add it for 3$ but it was not included. They said I could cancel my order but they would not be able to accommodate. Due to a language barrier with the representative, the order was canceled. I called the restaurant and spoke to a young man who answered the phone and said that this was not possible- no garlic bread would be added. I asked to speak to the manager and Debby came on. Although she was the manager she had no authority, she explained that I spent too much money using the app to order food from her restaurant. I told her that it was canceled and I was calling the restaurant directly, and that we could come pick it up. She explained that there was no way to add the complementary garlic bread to my 3 large pizza order- that we would come and pick up ourselves and pay extra Fitts the bread. The only way to have complementary garlic bread is to order pasta, Durant matter that this was a much less expensive order. How is this hiring? She explained that I could cancel my pizzas and order a half order of pasta and then get the garlic bread. Really? You're a manager? Seems backwards to me? Cancel all pizzas and instead order 1/2 order of pasta....? I explained that I was going to cancel my whole order and order from another pizza restaurant and she was fine with that. Ok. I'll do and will not use Z this convenient Leucadia location again. We are ordering Dominos who delivers and will add bread. Update. Just got the pizzas and bread and desert and it was awesome!! We love the Leucadia Pizza in Carlsbad-- but recently moved down here from North County and we're seriously disappointed on the difference in quality at this location. This location seriously skimps on the toppings in comparison!! Someone from Carlsbad needs to send down a pro to Point Loma to teach them how to add the appropriate amount of toppings and sauce. If I'm going to pay $30ish for a large pizza I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to get what you pay for :( read more

I was excited about this place opening but have been extremely disappointed with their staff and kitchen. Beware - they'll probably screw up your order and provide poor service. First time I ordered a garlic and shrimp pizza and brought it home to find garlic and chicken. I called to let them know and she asked if I wanted a credit. I told her I wanted our pizza and she said they would make it at no charge as if she was doing me a favor. I mean- come on, obviously I'm not paying twice for a messed up order. There was no remorse or "sorry" at all. Second time ordered for pickup and got 2 pizzas and they flip flopped the order sizes. My husband was waiting there for an extra 15 mins and they couldn't fess up that they messed up the order and re made it. Instead they were whispering to each other and he had to ask what went wrong.
