Yummmm!! I've always heard of Con Pane but today was my first time going in. Bread was so great and delicious. The service was quick and extremely kind. They have a ton of seating, both inside and outside. The outside patio was very nice and spacious! Highly recommend:)

I think this place has some really good friends with us. We went at around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and nearly everything was sold out! The pastry case was also empty. Walked away with ciabata and a seeded multigrain loaf and also a Dutch Crunch. Everything was lovely but top favorite was the Dutch crunch! We ate it just plain sitting in the car. Perfect amount of sweet and it's light crunchy topping - highly recommended!

Located in liberty station. Great for all ages. Plenty of parking by Slaters 50/50. You order at the front and you're given a number. The server will bring you your food. You can find seating inside or outside. Seating could be limited. You can always take your food Togo and sit by the water or outside in the main Liberty area. Coffees, sweets, or savory for your liking!

I just love their breads. Great place to have amazing bread with butter and jam with your coffee or any of their delicious pastries.

My daughter visited Con Pane when she had friends in town from North Carolina. She loved it so much that she took her sister another time and then me last week. I got the turkey Cobb sandwich on the rosemary bread. It was delicious. I might add picked red onion to have more contrast with the blue cheese/gorgonzola. My daughter is a pescatarian and I'm glad they have a vegetarian sandwich offer. She said it was amazing. The peanut butter toffee cookie was so good but I wasn't a huge fan of the cowgirl cookie. It was too dense and dry like the Ausi bites at Costco. Parking is nearby in several lots but you might find street parking.

Favorite place to go since college. Especially the chocolate bread, turkey Cobb, or the grilled cheese. Worried about a line? Order online ahead of time! Parking options are plenty, indoor and outdoor seating or get it to go and sit in the grass right next door!

Fresh baked bread, delicious desserts & coffees. I love this bakery restaurant. The food is always good but the location is always cheerful with friends, families, kids and dog friendly. They have a nice patio area to eat, catch some sun and enjoy the best San Diego weather. All the people who work here are friendly and helpful. You have to try this place in the Heart of Liberty station

    Cinnamon Roll w Raisins

Cinnamon Roll with Raisins suuuper legit. Brioche dough is soft, moist, and elevates height of cinnamon roll. Raisin are just Raisins. They add just enough cinnamon spread. Cream cheese glaze is good enough to drink. Worth it! Chocolate Hazelnut Twist is good, but I should have read it is also a brioche dough. When you get that combo of chocolate, Hazelnut, and powdered sugar, it's the truth. Black coffee is hot and delicious. Highly recommend to go along with breads.

So much bread you don't know what to do. cinnamon roll heaven I'm telling you right now. Note to self swing by here. Pick up some cinnamon rolls. You will never regret it. They have a couple different kinds.. Right there in liberty Station challenge you buy a cinnamon roll. Try to walk all the way up to the riverfront and walk back. Cinnamon roll will be gone. . That's real talk..

Bomb bakery with a huge selection of bread! Love their sourdough and definitely recommend getting that if you don't get anything else. They also have sandwiches and coffee. There are two separate lines for ordering food and just picking up baked goodies; make sure you're in the right one so you don't end up wasting time. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're at Liberty Station!

This spot was highly recommended by a friend and I can see why! Welcoming spot in Liberty Station that has plenty of seating. The bread is fresh and delicious. I got a Turkey Cobb sandwich on rosemary bread. The soups looked amazing but it was kind of hot (fun problem to have in winter!). They also had pastries and coffees so I may stop by again later this week.

My dad, sister, and I grabbed an afternoon meal and on our way to the parking lot we spotted this gem. Immediately, I was drawn by the clear invitation the bakery and cafe makes in its open doors and great outdoor and indoor seating area. By the time we entered, it was clear that the breads are a hit. They go out so quickly! Please note that there's a separate line you can stand in if you are just grabbing baked goods. For our first visit here we grabbed the following: *Cinnamon bun (plain) - an absolute must! There's an option for a raisin-based one too *Croissant - it was a delightful surprise to discover the croissants were visibly salted and to a degree that was surprisingly delicious *Plain loaf - one of the largest ones and few remaining loaves of bread that remained. They can slice it for you to take home *two drip coffees and house lemonade The staff brought us our order in person with utensils packed in the bag which we were grateful for. Thank you all so much! I hope we can come again to check out the sandwiches and soups and more bread! Inside and out - this place made my heart sing for joy because it embodies the definition of a bakery and cafe so well!

I wanted to update my previous review because Con pane has truly shown what kind of business they are. A few months ago, I mentioned some miscommunication about their Dutch Crunch bread, my absolute favorite. After two Saturdays in a row where it wasn't available, we stopped going weekly, even though we still loved everything they made. Today, my husband came home and told me about an unexpected interaction with the general manager, Dania, and it honestly meant a lot. My husband didn't approach anyone, yet the GM recognized him, came over, and kindly explained exactly what happened during those weeks. It turns out it really was a perfect storm, some internal communication issues and then a batch that didn't meet their standards, so they chose not to sell it. That level of pride and transparency says everything. We're all human, and things happen, but how a business responds matters. Con pane handled it with honesty, kindness, and genuine care. If I could give them a million stars, I would. Their Dutch Crunch is back (and as amazing as ever), and my appreciation for their team is higher than ever. If my earlier review gave you pause, I hope this update helps. This place is truly wonderful. And for anyone planning ahead...they also offer catering and are taking holiday orders. We'll absolutely be placing ours.

Do they offer online outdoor pickup or just the pickup counter inside?

I love your croissants and come for them early on weekends, but few weekends including yesterday, they were missing. Is there a way to know if croissants will be on the weekend menu ahead of time?

Is the bread here whole grain/whole wheat? Or enriched

Most are a mix of unbleached wheat flour and whole wheat flour but it all depends on the type of bread you are selecting. They have some that are available every day and then they have their specialty loaves on specific days. You can see all other…

Can this place accommodate a large breakfast group of @30? Any gluten free options?

I would definitely call first! A group that big would be a lot for the size of their seating area. I don't think they have GF, but never asked.

Are all breads and pastries additive free?

Hi I was wondering if your sourdough loaf can be stored in freezer? We just discovered your restaurant thanks to Jensens market. My son is a new student at Point Loma and he…

Yes! When he buys the sourdough, tell him to ask for it sliced and in a plastic bag. Take that home and put it right in the freezer. He can eat it a slice at a time and it will be as fresh as the day he ought it!

Are there any Salads on the menu, or available for those Keto heads in our party?

FROM THE CON PANE TEAM: Although we would love to offer salads, at this time we simply don't have the space in our bakery. We are working on charcuterie boards for 2022. Thanks.

Is there any chance of ever distributing outside of San Diego? La Brea Bakery is fine and all but your bread is so much better, it deserves to be available all over.

So sorry, Jackie. As you know, we're a small, artisanal bakery and unfortunately don't have the capacity to distribute outside of our Liberty Station location. We hope that you'll come down to visit us soon. In the meantime, wherever you can find…

Do you guys make fresh and clean sourdough bread? I always buy sourdough from grocery stores but it has bunch of weird ingredients and not even clean.

Anyone know if they're making a comeback anywhere? I want those cinnamon rolls again!!

YES, we're back and the cinnamon rolls are as good as you remember!

    Gluten free bread?

They do not bake gluten free bread at this time

Is there anywhere to purchase the chocolate you use in the bread? As a Celiac family we have to avoid as much gluten as possible, however every so often we enjoy a sweet treat, and the chocolate in the pane cioccolata is to die for!

Thanks for asking, Amanda. Please contact our wonderful General Manager, Dania Barajas, at dania@conpanesd.com and she'll do her best to accommodate your request. Cheers!

Can you guys bake gingerman cookie?

Not currently, but our amazing bakers are always creating delicious, new items.

By any chance is there chocolate sourdough bread?

If there on a weekend, you can get the Pan Ciocoletta. They sell both large rolls and round loaf. I always get the rolls for mor crust goodness ?…

Are there any gluten free options?

Luckily, the location of this Tender Greens gets a nice breeze and they put shade on their outdoor tables. Today I had seared ahi (and cooked rare), a choose of two sides, so I had the golden beets and summer veggies. This plate also comes with a slice of bread. Ive given up alcohol for now at least until the end of the year as it was getting me into trouble. I am 8 days without alcohol and doing ok. This place has no NA options so I had a diet Coke. You order at the counter, grab your number, and they bring the food out to you in 10-15 min. Nice indoor dining area if you wanna sit in the cool A/C. I sat outside as al fresco dining is my preferred way to dine. I love this place and will be back again and again. You should come too, its completely guilt free eating.

If you don't know what you want, the lady at the counter is very friendly and will help you choose based on your sandwich preferences. The free cookie and candy was an unexpected nice touch. If you don't want your to go sando soggy, I'd ask for the dressing on the side. The bread is very soft and with all the veggies, I could see the potential for it to be on the soggy side if not eaten immediately. There is a fair amount of seating inside but I also witnessed a lot of pick up orders. ~$15 after tip for just the sando.

Then I finally opted to get the Chipotle chicken with avo and no bacon. Service was efficient & helpful. The sandwich took only a few minutes ti be delivered to me in the little brown paper bag. I took it home, but not before noticing that the inside dining area is cute and has sort of a farmhouse or farm-to-table, rustic ambiance. There are also a number of tables outside on the sidewalk. I brought my sandwich home and noted that it came with a cookie and lil strawberry candy. Aww! So sweet! The sandwich was on a nice toasted roll and while it was on the smaller side, the chipotle flavor was good abs the chicken and avo were fresh. The provolone was also nicely melted. I enjoyed this sandwich! Verdict: this is a great little sandwich shop with lots of options and fresh and moderately priced food. There's plenty of parking in the large shared lot and they have bathrooms for customer use. Peace!

Its predecessor also sold sandwiches in the form of Mexican tortas, but it closed for good in less than two years. The varieties at this spot included meat, fish, and vegetarian. Five appetizers, four salads, and a cannoli made up the rest of the regular menu. A small chalkboard on top of a display cabinet listed "Today's Specials" which was four more meat-based sandwiches. The first meat sandwich (Porchetta) was my choice. The ingredients were roasted adobo pork, bean spread, melted sharp yellow cheddar, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onions, and spicy adobo salsa on ciabatta bread. A true porchetta sandwich will use a slow-roasted pork belly roll or pork loin as the base which didn't seem to be the case here. The adobo seasoning provided a more Asian flavor profile than Italian. I also felt the meat was overshadowed by all the toppings. The bread was toasted which gave a crispy crust that was enjoyable. A bag of chips did come with the $15 price tag. Overall, the product I tried at L'Angolino was mediocre for an Italian sandwich.

Definitely a heavy sandwich, but everything worked really well together and it had a ton of flavor. On another visit, I accidentally ordered the Choripan instead of what I originally wanted, and I'm glad I did. The chorizo was juicy, the chimichurri and gaucho sauce gave it a lot of flavor, and the ciabatta bread was soft and held everything together perfectly. Between both visits, the food has been really good, and I like that the menu has a few different things you don't see everywhere. I'd definitely come back again and try something else. Oh yeah, and the service and vibe of the place was nice. Really stood out in Liberty Station.

Liberty Public Market is a fantastic place to visit, but unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing meals we've had in a long time. From the moment we walked up, the customer service was virtually nonexistent. Neither employee acknowledged us with a hello or welcome, or explained how the ordering process worked. We eventually realized we were supposed to use the kiosk and placed our order ourselves. We were asked for our phone number multiple times, so we naturally assumed we'd receive a text when our food was ready. Instead, the only text we received was a welcome message inviting us to review the restaurant. Since there wasn't any seating available near the stand, we found a table around the corner. After waiting quite a while, we walked back to check on our order and discovered it had been sitting on the counter. The fries were completely cold. When we asked if we could have fresh fries, the employee simply replied, "Nope. I called your name five times." There was no apology or attempt to make it right. Had someone explained that orders were only called out, or had we received a text instead of a review request, this could have been avoided. The sandwich itself was equally disappointing. The steak had good flavor, but there was far less meat than the photos online suggest. The real problem was the amount of chimichurri oil. We understand chimichurri is oil-based, but this sandwich was absolutely saturated. The bread was so soaked that oil pooled in the bottom of the container and dripped from the sandwich (see photos). We ended up removing all of the bread because it was inedible, eating only the meat, and leaving the bread and cold fries behind. Our lunch was $33 for one sandwich and fries that we shared, which made the experience even more disappointing. It's honestly sad to see restaurants moving toward a model where customers interact with a kiosk instead of people, then receive little or no customer service when something goes wrong. Hospitality still matters, and that's what was missing here. Liberty Public Market is absolutely worth visiting. Unfortunately, this restaurant isn't one we'd recommend.
