I came by for lunch on a weekday and service was quick/friendly when I went to pickup my online order! I was deciding what to get and saw that many people recommended their philly cheesesteak sandwiches so I went with that. Mushroom Philly Cheesesteak - 10000/10, honestly best Philly I've had! I stopped by on a Sunday around 3:30 PM. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating and a very casual, laid-back atmosphere. You order at the register, and they bring your food out to your table. They're dog-friendly, which is great. They even have dog treats available, which is always a nice touch for those of us dining with our pups. I ordered the: *The Philly: Absolutely phenomenal. They offer two sizes, and I went with the small, which ended up being the perfect portion. If you're craving a great Philly cheesesteak, this one definitely delivers. *Hazy IPA (On Tap): They have an impressive beer selection with several beers on tap in addition to canned options. They were out of the IPA I originally wanted, but the employee recommended another hazy IPA that ended up being a great substitute. My only complaint was the pricing. The menu listed the craft beer at $6, but it only showed one price. I was surprised when my large ended up costing $12. It would've been helpful if both sizes and prices were clearly listed. Despite that, the service was excellent. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to come out, and the employee who took my order was incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, the food was outstanding, the service was fantastic, and I love that you can enjoy a quality craft beer with an authentic Philly cheesesteak. If you're looking for one of the better cheesesteaks around, this spot is definitely worth checking out. read more

I order the cheesesteak with peppers, which is consistently delicious with everything (sweet, hot, & jalapeño) i've actually dreamt about this sandwich in between visits. on top of the incredible food, evan's has a great selection of delicious beers! I had the west coast IPA, which honestly holds its own with some of my favorite SD breweries. evan's is exactly the kind of local business that you'd want to support! come in & find evan himself working the counter. he's friendly, cares about his customers, and has great recommendations. cannot recommend this place enough!! read more

Stopped in here with my handy dandy groupon in hand. I ordered the pastrami fir now and the tuna melt for later. The pastrami was really damn good and I scarfed it down like it was my last meal. I like how they also had beer on tap here! They had a red ale and a hef along with the standard 20 million IPA's. I like how they had a good rounded tap list rather than just 6 IPA's. We don't live in the area and we're staying across the street looking for something quick and easy to grab for dinner when we found Evan's, and it was the BEST experience. Evan was so friendly, our original to-go order, we ended up eating there just because we loved the experience so much. I have a gluten issue, and he was so knowledgeable and made me the BEST salad I have ever had. My fiancé got a sandwich and a brat, and said it was the best he's ever had. We loved it so much, we went back the next morning for breakfast. He made me a delicious bowl and my fiancé got a giant breakfast burrito. Definitely going to be my go to sandwich shop in San Diego now. Cant believe I haven't been here before honestly. Solid sandwich ingredients. Fair prices. Chops veggies exactly how I like, nice and thin. Nothing I hate more than bulky veggies in my sandwich. Great selection of chips and beverages. Also has some appetizers like fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks. Happy hour on drinks everyday. Plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. Plenty of parking as well. This is truly a neighborhood deli! I was brought here by my friend who lives around the corner who says this is their to go place when they want a quick sandwich. After experiencing my sandwich I understand: you get good value and quality here! Plus the staff really care about their end product. I ended up getting the meatball sandwich and it was great! It had the perfect amount of sauce, cheese and meat ratio. Plus on the perfect roll. I was very satisfied. My friend got a tuna sandwich and it was a good looking sandwich as well! As for seating: out front there are a couple of tables on the sidewalk. Inside you can find more tables that are in a spacious area. It seems like most people take their food to go. They have really good solid sandwiches. We tried the turkey avocado and the Philly cheesesteak and they were both delicious. The meat and roll bread on both were really good. If you are normally a big eater or come hungry ask for the large, because the regular size is a smaller sandwich than normal. The service was very friendly, I felt like the man was welcoming me to his home and informed me about their best sellers without even asking. He was great! First time here, we saw it on our way back from a bbq place that was full. The Whiz Steak and Italian were really good. The toast on the Whiz Steak made it really stand out and threw me back to Philly. The Amoroso bread they used for both the Italian and Whiz Steak is a definite must. I wish I could've had it with a beer but overall it was a good experience. The owner was nice and served us quickly and politely. The ambience was perfect for the type of food served. That's the best Philly I've had in San Diego in a while. After fishing we came to Evan deli for the first time. Me and my buddies were hungry from being on the boat all day. We shared the Philly and it was amazing ! We shared the Philly fries and we all loved them. They also had a chicken Philly with cheese Wiz my buddies shared and they loved it. I love pastrami so I had half of a pastrami bombi sandwich. My other buddies had the chicken Cesar wrap and it was their favorite item. The owner was the cashier and he was telling us the meat, snacks, and craft sodas all come from Philly. You have to try the orange cream soda when you come. Delicious !! We ended up back in San Diego 3 years later and as promised had to come back. It did not disappoint! I got the pepper steak cheesesteak with hot peppers and subbed for pepperjack cheese. SO good! Evan's Deli is one of the sandwich shops in our neighborhood. My husband and I stop by to pick up a sandwich from time to time. It is one of our go-to lunch spots. We always get sandwiches to go, and have never eaten in. Usually it is when we are on our way home from running errands. The sandwiches are good quality. The guy who works behind the counter, I imagine Evan, is really nice. They do happy hours with beer and wine, though I haven't partaken, as I'm usually grabbing sandwiches to go, but it's cool that they do that. They do a variety of cheesesteak sandwiches that my husband enjoys. My favorite is the tuna melt. They do a great job. I will say that I once chose the spinach wrap and did not care for it. The last time we were there, Evan said the tuna melt wasn't up to his standards and remade it for me. I like that attitude. That said, it is a solid sandwich shop. Hubby recommends the cheesesteak and I recommend the tuna melt. If you are in the area, it is a great choice. read more

Hands DOWN one of the best cheesesteaks i've ever had. We love Evan's! It's a very deli vibe inside with a ton of sandwiches made fresh, chips, and drinks. The owners are so kind and lovely. Saw this place right off the 8 and mission bay and decided to stop by... WOW! Evan made my wife and I the two best phillys we've ever had--and we've had a lot. The Ingredients were all super high quality and the bread was light and flaky after being perfectly toasted. They also have really good beers on tap and a ton of non-high fructose corn syrup drinks! Been living in Point Loma for idk how long now but I was here when it was gaglione brothers, San Diego's "best" cheesesteak, and I can tell you now that Evan's outdoes them 10/10 and they came out with there own line of beers! A small shop in an even smaller strip mall on a busy street. I would call this place a hidden gem. The staff makes it feel like a mom & pop shop, and very hospitable. I had "The Steak" which is a plain cheesesteak and I have to say that it was one of the best and freshest tasting cheesesteaks I've had in San Diego. Great price too for the quality and quantity. Wow! Really really good quality pastrami! I went with the pastrami Bombie it's perfect the quality of meat is amazing the service is top notch the bread is as fresh as can be very clean nice place next to natural chicken. One of my students said to try this place out and she wasn't wrong good job Sutton this is amazing- different than Chris's liquor Harpoon but very good. I will return to try different sandwiches. Evan has us sold! Stopped by after the Kobey's Swap Meet, only 5 minutes away. We tried the Pastrami Bombie and a cheese steak. Both sandwiches were super good, filling, and served fresh. Evan's Deli & Brew makes the best Cheesesteaks in California and some say they are better than many they have had in Philadelphia. Were more than a cheesesteak shop. Our best deli sandwiches are the Hot Pastrami (Very lean Pastrami), Cold Italian Sandwich (Ham, Salami, Martadela & Capicola) & Meatball Sub (3 Cheeses, Crunchy Bread, amazing Meatballs & Marinara). Our Beers are shipped from Orange County from a Brewer that Evan used to work for. Come by for our daily happy hour (Everyday from 2pm-6pm). Happy hour consists of $5 house wines and $6 Beers.

We love getting the potato salad and bbq baked beans (prepackaged) sides there when we stop in, but if you're not early on the weekend, they usually run out. So we decided since we'd be in the Bay Park area, we'll check out the original location, Siesel's. Glad we did! I wanted to make a slow cooker brisket one weekend, so it was perfect. Siesel's is a bit larger than Iowa Farms and feels a bit more open. Same great cow awaiting outside the store. But they have a whole deli counter with all the sides plus more! They didn't have any ready made prepackaged bbq baked beans, it was better, made fresh daily and we were able to get as much as we wanted at the deli counter. They also have several different Siesel's signature potato salads and pasta salads that aren't offered prepackaged at Iowa farms, which I absolutely love! My favs are the Asiago pasta and deviled egg potato salad. We also decided to try their Tri-tip sandwich made to order at the deli and it was delicious! Fluffy bun piled high with Tri-tip covered in bbq sauce and have the option to add cheese and anything else. Love it! Staff is always very helpful. Parking lot can get full on the weekends, and they can run out of the pre-prepared meats in the front counter, but make sure to ask if there's any more in the back or they may be able to prepare some for you! First time at this deli and very impressed with the food and customer service. When we walked in we were greeted by the owner, Evan, who was very nice and helpful. I ordered the hot pastrami with Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles on rye bread. Sandwich had generous portions and pastrami was delicious. My wife ordered the mushroom cheesesteak, which was enough for two people. The steak was flavorful and good combination with mushrooms and provolone cheese. I tried the blood orange IPA beer that was on tap. Overall, large selection of sandwiches at reasonable prices and high quality. Everything we ordered we were happy with. My 2nd time going to Evan's Deli & Brew today (5/23/2026), and once again it did not disappoint. I ordered the Italian sandwich to-go, and this thing was massive, easily enough for two meals. I ended up saving the other half for dinner later tonight, which honestly made my day even better. While I waited for my food, I grabbed one of their Evan's West Coast IPAs and really enjoyed it. Great beer, delicious food, and the staff here are always so kind and welcoming. The whole spot has that laid-back local neighborhood feel that makes you want to keep coming back. The sandwiches were available as parmesan or cutlet for $12 each. I chose the cutlet along with a side of fries. The thin chicken breast was dressed with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on a grilled flatbread wrap. A dill pickle wedge, jalapeno peppers, and a cup of dressing were provided on the side. The service is okay, it can get really busy here and wait times for food and beer can be very long. We usually order a large pizza, half and half of whatever looks good on the menu. Some of their beers rotate out, and I get whatever is new and fresh on tap. We will definitely stop by again next time we are in Ocean Beach.

The food options are wide and very tasty for most people's taste pallets so everyone can enjoy food here, young and old. The beer is also a great selection which is common throughout the North Park beer co locations. Bathroom heater, nice and service here is even better. Cons: the biggest con here is trying to find some sort of parking nearby. The best way to find parking is to go to any other side streets nearby and try to find street parking. There's a small parking garage that would most likely feel pretty quickly next to the main patio area, but I don't know if this is strictly for North Park or for another nearby business since I did not park there, but I saw that that was an option. Verdict: this is a great pizza shop in brewery for all ages who want to enjoy the food and root beer! I recommend coming here again again if you're in the area.
