We were visiting from NJ and wanted to try Texas style BBQ. We came across this place and decided to give it a try. Ibrahim helped us out, explained everything and gave the best recommendations. Customer service/hospitality is phenomenal. Inside the ambiance is awesome, loved the decor. Bathrooms were pristine as well. Now the food.... Where do I begin! If you are to try one thing, it has to be the brisket. Melt in your mouth ( literally) good. Have never had brisket like this before. Literally every meat we ordered was so tender and literally fell apart when you touched it. Incredible! The sides, the beans, coleslaw, creamed corn were all amazing. Very disappointed on the service here and chose not to try their food as a result.... I went to the Stonebriar location which of course is aesthetically pleasing. Seating is bench style so people with back issues you are warned. Prior ordering my meal I was notified that they can sell half pound and quarter pound selections to all their meats from their chef. I was very pleased because I wanted to try a half pound of brisket and a half pound of lamb chops. Upon ordering I was quickly told that they cannot do a half pound of lamb chop after previously stating they could due to only being able to serve full racks of lamb (6 lamb chops) equaling a pound. While initially discouraged due to the misinformation from their chef, I was intrested try the lamb chops because I could split the rack between dinner and lunch the next day so I agreed on the rack of lamb This is where I had to bow out of my meal. Because I wanted to eat half my meal at the restaurant and half my meal for lunch tomorrow (and that is impossible to eat and uncut rack of lamb politely) I asked for the rack to be cut into the 6 lamb chops that made the rack and the chef refused.... ....Wait this BBQ restaurant that chops and slices brisket, sausage, turkey, and BEEF RIBS cannot cut a rack of lamb in to 6 pieces?! This lack of empathy bamboozled me for one being that the rack was $38 and for two being how could I actually eat my meal if the rack wasn't cut into edible chops the same way rib are cut with the bone? Sorry I'm not a descendant of Conan the Barbarian so I will not be contorting my mouth to take on a full rack of lamb without them being separated. Very simple request. Very apparent lack of empathy. Very disappointing service. Very easy decision to take my business elsewhere. read more

If you are looking for an authentic taste of the Mediterranean, congratulations, you have found the exact geographical coordinates where culinary geography goes to die. I walked into Levant Mediterranean BBQ in Frisco expecting a vibrant celebration of Levantine spices, but what I actually experienced was an existential crisis served on a paper tray. Let's talk about the menu, which can only be described as a cruel social experiment. Apparently, the entire Mediterranean diaspora was condensed down to a grand total of two items: a rogue "brisket shawarma" smothered in sticky American BBQ sauce instead of tahini, and a side of hummus. That is it. That is the entire bridge between Athens and Beirut. When I innocently asked the staff behind the counter about tahini sauce, they looked at me as if I was speaking ancient Aramaic, blinking with the vacant terror of deer caught in headlights. Which brings me to the centerpiece of this tragedy: what on earth is a "brisket shawarma" dressed in BBQ sauce? It's not shawarma. It's just chopped brisket wearing a cheap Middle Eastern disguise. You might as well have called it a brisket wrap and saved everyone the embarrassment. The rest of the menu featured absolutely nothing remotely Middle Eastern, unless you count the existential dread of realizing you paid real money for Texas-style brisket masquerading as international cuisine. To top off this comedy of errors, the cashier enthusiastically asked what I wanted for my sides with the brisket shawarma. Naturally, I asked what sides were actually included, a simple question that instantly short-circuited the entire front-of-house staff. This triggered a five-minute emergency huddle among the employees where they whispered, frantically pointed at the cash register, and solemnly conferred with one another as if defusing a bomb. The final, triumphant verdict delivered from their summit meeting? The sides are extra. Of course they are. Skip the passport and stay home; you'll have a more authentic Mediterranean experience opening a can of Goya chickpeas in your kitchen. read more

Sunday evening was packed for dinner around 7.30. it was full inside, but our group of 12 found seats outside, uncovered but weather was nice. The space inside is big. It's also not over packed woth tables which is good and makes it easier to move around with a tray full of meats. The staff is friendly and there were a couple of guys bussing and cleaning tables inside and out. Props! Food wise, they were out of nearly everything! Brisket and sausage were the only meat options left on this evening. A serious disappointment but understandable. Unfortunately they were also out of many sides. Smoked potatoes, fried okra, mac and cheese (i got last) and creamed corn. Boo. So how as it? Brisket. Awesome. Did not need sauce which is good 'cause the spicy sauce is weak. Never got to try the regular bbq sauce, they didn't have extras bottles besides those on the onside tables. That aside, good bark, solid spices and pull apart meat. The pit master knows their craft. Sausage - not bad. Meaty texture and good flavor. Not a lot of options for non pork eaters here so it's good enough but imo Kafi is king in this category. On the side front, Mac and cheese and coleslaw were about what you expect. Fasolia was ok. Potato Salad was good and Quinoa cowboy thing was really refreshing. I wish they had lamb chops and i am looking forward to trying that. On the sweeter side they seem to have baklava and stuff, not my deal, not with bbq. For the soda fiends they serve coke products via fountain and have a variety of glass bottled coke products too. They need to work on logistics. Have sauce dispensers or more sauce bottles for people sitting outside. Plates or cardboard boats for eating plus don't run out of sides at least! Levant is a solid bbq joint and the lamb options if prepared on oar with the brisket quality will certainly be a differentiator for them. Tried the sliced brisket, lamb chops, in-house sausage, creamed corn, potato salad, and quinoa cowboy caviar. The brisket wasn't my favorite. It was tender enough, but the seasoning felt a bit heavy and overwhelmed the meat. Lamb chops were okay but nothing special, pretty mediocre in my opinion. The in-house sausage had good texture, but it was super salty. As for the sides, the potato salad was solid and probably my favorite of the three. The quinoa cowboy caviar was decent, had fresh ingredients, and offered a lighter side option. The creamed corn was my least favorite; it was very underwhelming, and I wouldn't order it again. Overall, this one just wasn't for me - I left feeling pretty disappointed with the meal as a whole. read more

I had a friend in town and he wanted bbq, I suggested Hutchins because they're the best in town, however when we arrived there on the 4th of July the line was around the building, he didn't want to wait so I looked up another restaurant. I came across lavant on yelp and suggested it, we drove here and I regret it. The food was absolutely horrible, everything we got was disappointing. The fatty brisket wasn't tender, had no flavor and was dry. The sausages were dry and looked old like they'd been out for hours. The sides were disgusting! The corn was definitely canned and watery, the okra was terrible, the Mac and cheese looked like Kraft. I felt bad for telling my friend to come here. He paid almost $70 for trash food. I don't recommend coming here at all, it was such a waste of money! They need better cooks if they want to make it. read more

Absolutely delicious Halal BBQ. We tried the brisket, turkey, sausage, and mac & cheese, and everything was excellent. The brisket was the star-perfectly smoked and melt-in-your-mouth tender. This place did not meet the hype. Too expensive. Brisket was dry, along with the chicken. We were served the last few bits of okra and it was cold. We asked for a new batch and were charged. No seasoning or spice. We had to remind them to give us bread. Sadly this place did not meet the hype, too much local competition for this. Not ever coming back. I wish I could tell the people in line to save their time and money. Maybe when this place closes the owners can look back and fix what's wrong. I would have enjoyed a subway sandwich more than this sadly. Good luck. read more
