We went for a friend's birthday and it was an awesome time! The vibes were great for a private karaoke room. They also have a food menu and also a drink menu. We ordered a handful of soju bottles and it was great! Also their service was awesome, they checked in on us occasionally and also brought a fountain of water. We also had a cake for my friend's birthday and they offered to refrigerate it. Not sure if they'll do that often but they were so awesome about it! LOST IN TRANSLATION Karaoke would've been a lot more fun.... if we actually had some English songs to pick from. My wife's birthday request was to do some singing, and with the demise of Punch Bowl Social in Schaumburg (R.I.P), I needed a backup. Eventually I came across this place in Yorkshire Plaza, a strip mall that's right across the street from Fox Valley Mall in Aurora. We were the only customers at 6pm, but I thought nothing of it at the time, assuming the rowdiness would filter in later. Levee Karaoke & BBQ is much bigger on the inside with nine private karaoke rooms, a billiards table, and a bar. It's $48 per room per hour on Friday nights and weekends. Searching through their database of songs was challenging. In order to find a multi-word song, you had to type in its initials ("I Believe In A Thing Called Love" becomes "IBIATCL") which was very hit-or-miss. For instance, we saw one song by Linkin Park, but nothing else from them. We noticed a TON of Chinese songs (nearly 75% of the catalog) with very few American artists represented apart from Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Beyonce. Truthfully, we struggled to find any popular rock songs in English. Even mainstays like "Don't Stop Believing" were nowhere to be found. I wasn't impressed with the fried appetizer sampler ($15): a handful of fries, 4 onion rings, 3 mac 'n' cheese bites, 2 chicken wings and a sad pair of mozzarella sticks. Plus, the dipping sauces they gave us came in the smallest cups that are commercially available. It all looked like something a college roommate threw together in a rush. On the other hand, we enjoyed the BBQ skewer combo ($19). They gave us two each of cumin lamb, ribeye, pork, grilled cauliflower, and grilled brussel sprouts. We liked the dry seasoning on the veggies, and my wife loved the ribeye. The mini steamed buns (10 for $12) were fine, nothing too special but at least they were filling. The staff were very nice. Our server was responsive any time we pressed the in-room service button. A 12oz can of diet Coke was $2.50 (damn y'all!), which is steep considering a tall Sapporo draft was only $6. Yet another reason to drink beer, folks. At checkout, I briefly thought they comped us an hour of karaoke. Turns out, the "-$48" on our receipt was just the deposit being taken off the final bill; they did not in fact, give us anything for free. Expensive karaoke on top of a confusing Chinese-based system adds up to a tough, tough sell. * TL;DR * My wife and I had a decent amount of fun but nowhere near "$50 an hour" worth of fun. Regardless of where you are or what services you offer, that pricing is insane. Compare this to Punch Bowl Social ($40/hr), Lincoln Karaoke downtown ($30/hr), or Round One ($17/hr) which is quite literally across the street. Charging this much has to be how Levee stays in business, because it was a ghost town on a Friday night (where was everyone??) Had I'd known we'd spend half an hour sifting through the cumbersome catalog trying to find something familiar to Western audiences, I would have gone elsewhere instead. When we did karaoke in Osaka, Japan - over 6,000 miles away - their song selection was ten times better than here, in suburban Illinois. That's whack. All told, two hours with food and drinks ran me just shy of $200. I'm not spending that kind of money again pretending to "sing" Ariana Grande because my only other choices are songs in Mandarin.... which I do not speak. We had so much fun! Came with some friends last night. My husband and I arrived a little early as we had dinner at the rotary sushi place across the parking lot, I figured we'd chill in the lobby or something until our reservation, but they let us in our room early which was very nice. The hostess explained their system to us and it was very easy to use. We switched between their song book and the YouTube set up. Plenty of options. We didn't eat much, but we had some skewers and they were delicious. I'll definitely order those again when we come back. The drinks were also delicious and prices are reasonable. Service was quick and everyone who helped us through the evening was friendly. I can't wait to come back! We had such a great night! read more

A lots of food options on the Menu are no longer available. You have to order at least 5 skewers. The Beef Tongue that they served barely had any meat on the skewer. Cumin Lamb was decent, but the Lamb Kidney had some unpleasant taste. Grilled Squid Tentacles only had three small pieces. The Grilled Squid Mouth was okay. Definitely not coming back here for food ever! They do have lots of people inside for Karaoke. read more

Love this place sooo much! The food was amazing! I recommend the beef skewers. I can eat 20 of them by myself. The house special dumplings was also super yummy. If you want to try traditional Chinese bbq, this is defiantly the place to go. There karaoke place is also super cool. There are 9 rooms total to choose from. Each room has a different feel to it Depending on the size of the room, the price is different. I got the small room since there was only 3 of us. We choose the pink room. This place is a TREASURE! I hate planning parties, events, etc. I'm always anxious about it and something always goes wrong... until now. Booking the time we wanted was super easy; they were informative and really pleasant in working out the details of our visit. Also, they were very reasonable and accommodating. Then we got there and checking in was smooth. I really appreciated that they are very 'covid conscious' and they take reasonable precautions. We were allowed in early to set up decorations and such, and had plenty of time to learn their karaoke system before getting started. Everything was clean and in great working order, there was plenty of comfortable seating, and they were very good about taking food and drink orders immediately. Speaking of the food and drink- awesome! Make sure you try a bunch of things; our group really loved the different skewers! We'd go back for just the food! They also brought out a cute flashing-light 'shot tree' shaped like a 'V' with juices and sodas for the kids (it was a kid's birthday!) - I could definitely see the grown-up version being fun for adults! That was a surprise, and it was well received. The songs available were great for our party (they switched to their English catalog for us, and we had songs spanning a variety of genres). Everyone was able to find something they wanted to sing. They do apply an 18% gratuity (I'm not sure if it's based on headcount or room size or what), but I feel it was very well deserved. Actually, looking back, I regret we didn't tip even more... when we return, we'll make it up to them. Anyway, there's nothing I could criticize about our visit. Fun place for a friends night out!! I wanna come back with my kids! Really cute separate rooms so you can just hang out with the people you came with. Food comes to your room. Chinese Dumplings and Bao made fresh and DELICIOUS. My friend ordered close to 10 skewers of the grilled Brussel sprouts because she couldn't get enough. I also really enjoyed the cumin lamb skewers. This place is amazing for just letting loose... we belted Whitney Houston to our hearts content and had no one but ourselves to be there to laugh at all our crazy off key moments. The new karaoke bar at the new Chinatown plaza in Aurora opened up so my sister and two of our friends decided to try the place. The place has a very interesting price model with the 4 hour package being that you pay a fixed amount for the room but it can all go towards food, you pay more for what you eat over that amount, but you still have to pay that amount nonetheless. The other pricings are that you have to pay by the hour. They don't have the specifics karaoke menu online yet I think (nor did I get a picture unfortunately!) but I know for a fact Fridays after 6 pm is 280 and Monday-Thursday after 6 pm is 180 for 4 hours. Quite pricey, but can be worth it if you have enough people I feel. The food at this place is ok, a bit oily. They have a wide collection of food, mostly skewers. Everything is OK.... EXCEPT THE MANTOU. THE MANTOU IS AMAZING. GET IT. It's just really normal mantou, with spicy seasoning, grilled on a skewer. Supposedly a northern specialty. But man it is amazing. We weren't allowed to take food/ leftovers out however... so be aware of that. You have to eat your money's worth during your time there if you're going to get the package. The karaoke system is very up-to-date with all the newest songs which is good. Their sound system is pretty ok as well, there was some feedback and problems with the mics later on into the session, but apparently it's because we kind of loosened the mics? Not sure, tightened it but didn't really go back to being good. Really, I would give this place a 3 star, but I bumped it up because of service and that the owner was very agreeable. And likely this place is going through growing pains. I want to give it a chance because this does provide a very much needed karaoke service in the burbs. read more

The food tastes good. The only criticism would be small size. Don't feel like you ordered a lot, it only takes you two or three bites to finish one skewer. Comparing to most american food/ western food restaurants portion, normally you got to take leftover home, sometimes, it would be a lot, with them, no, you spent the same amount of money with nothing left on the plate. read more
