Heard about this place from a fellow Yelper so we went on a Wednesday night with friends for dinner.It was not crowded so we were seated immediately. They have a nice selection of noodle and rice dishes as well as appetizers and tropical drinks and martinis. We each had a Mai Tai to start. Very flavorful but not sure if there was any alcohol in it..lol. Price was only 10.00. We skipped the appetizers and went straight for the noodle and rice dishes. My wife had the Panang Curry with chicken. Fresh ingredients and very good served with white rice. I always go with the Pad See Eiw with chicken. The portion was huge! Cute little place in a strip mall off route 59 in Warrenville provided us with a nice variety of Thai dishes to choose from. It is family run and there is plenty of free parking in the lot. Our server was friendly and efficient. She said that all the curry dishes were gluten free and several entrees could be made gluten free upon request. Our dishes came out quickly and we enjoyed them. Went here with friends for dinner. It's a newly opened place. The food is amazing!!! Must try are red curry and Penang curry!! But they served the curry in a plate !? I found it extremely difficult to manage the serving as me and my friend shared the curry. The portion size is huge! That's the only reason I am giving 4/5 star ratings. This is by far the best Thai place in the area. I've been everywhere around here. Always looking. And Montri Thai beats out all of them. I'm a table cloth and cloth napkin kinda girl, so I appreciate that it feels like a place you can go to on a date. It's nice for any time of day though. The food is a standout. Authentic Thai Food, great service with all Thai wait staff. Excellent chicken pad Thai. Our favorite is the spicy catfish, crispy catfish Service with a very pang sauce and piped with basil leaves. Angel wings also worth a try(Chicken Wings stuffed with minced pork) and usually not offered at many other Thai Restaurants. On the downside, Lad Na noodles were dry and sauce was a bit too salty. So I chose this place since I wanted Mexican bread after dinner. I chose it out of convenience, but man was I lucky for that. The food is amazing! The appetizer was delicious. It had shrimp rolls, veggie rolls, spring rolls, fish cake , chicken satay, shrimp mini dumplings I think, veggie tempura, potstickers, and an array of sweet sauces. The chicken satay was incredibly seasoned. I wish I could season like this! Everything was hot and crunchy. We also ordered the crab rangoons and the after taste made you come back for more. The Siam Salmon was delicious. The skin was CRISPY. Y'all this is a feat even at higher priced places. The cherry Teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet, the veggies were crunchy. The service is quick and to the point. Don't expect them to hold your hand. They are accurate and respectful. I wish I had room for more. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Clean and brightly colored restaurant space- food is delicious. Portion sizes are on the smaller side; this is more of an individual plate type of place instead of family-style. We did have to ask for more jasmine rice about three times as we had six (hungry) folks at the table for dinner and it comes in what looks like large ice-cream scoop portions. Would definitely make this a sit-down Thai experience in future, however. Very good. read more

I had the green curry chicken and my wife had her usual pad Thai. The curry was like soup. It had no thickness to it and was overwrought with bamboo shoots. It also lacked depth of flavor. My husband and I came for birthday appetizers. We enjoyed the rangoons and egg rolls. I would not get the chicken wings again. The wings were creative, but they weren't for me. We have eaten here before but for today's carry out, can't say it is the same place. Food was tasteless and disappointing. Chicken satay had little curry flavor, Ginger chicken came on a dark sauce with only mushrooms and onions and very little ginger. Carryout packaging not good as sauces spilled within their containers even though bag was upright the entire time. Do t know if it's just the carry out or if something has really changed here but we won't be back. read more

There is no better Thai place around than montri Thai. I have since branched out and tried a few more dishes, and every single one is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Thought it time for a quick update, it's been nine years since my first Yelp review for Montri Thai. Guess What? They are still the best Thai food that we've found in the suburbs! I will say that my recent experience with their Satay was pretty "meh" the peanut sauce fairly bland and the chicken portions have shrunk over the years.. (I still order it.. but only one order and just not excited about it) That said.. everything else is packed with flavor and just delicious! We eat here pretty frequently and on our last trip we got the Chicken Satay (see above) Beef Pad Se Ewe, Panang Curry with Chicken and the Tofu Fried Rice.. and everything is so good it should probably be illegal. Oh, and that's just for the two of us...so with a few leftovers, we ordered another fried rice to go. I'm getting ready for the home version of my Montri Thai meal and I can only say..better me than you. read more

The food was very good the service was bad because we arrived and the two only workers there were eating so they did not allowed us to sit where we wanted they sat us by the wall. The restaurant was completely empty. I will be coming back for the price and the portions are not bad at all they deserve a five star/ but like I mentioned the service is horrible. I had to ask for the condiments and at the end I had to ask to give me the check and then I had to get up and pay because they continue to eat without acknowledging that we were there. Went with dinner with family friends. Service was decent in spite of a huge party and it was very noisy environment. Ordered some appetizers, soup, pad kahe maw, red curry and fried rice. Everything we tasted was average at best and pricey. The pad kahe mow had very few flat noodles with an abundance of bean sprouts. I wish this place were better, but it serves bland, watery food. This is suburban Thai at its worst. The restaurant doesn't have online ordering, so I phoned mine in. The person taking the order claimed every dish could be made vegan without fish/oyster sauce and without shrimp paste (which is a base of Thai curries 99% of the time and almost never modifiable). The tofu egg roll ($4 for three) was the best part of the meal: crispy and savory. The vegetable delight (~$12) is gloopy and bland. The red curry (~$12) was supremely watery and bland. The lard nar (~$12) was gloopy and, you guessed it, bland. The pad kee mao (~$12) is supposed to be a spicy stir-fry dish with noodles. Here it was a watery dish with black pepper instead of Thai chilies. The spicy basil leaf (~$12) was better and had zing, but also was the smallest portion size of any dish. If you're looking for better Thai food in the far west suburbs of Chicago, check out Bangkok Restaurant in Geneva. Tusk Thai in Batavia is also decent. CK Pad Thai in Carol Stream is also solidly good. read more

While out running Sunday errands I got a craving for Thai food. I looked up the closest Thai restaurant and this was one that was doing dine in (safely) and not just take out. I was a bit skeptical until the potstickers arrived. Although I'm used to pork the chicken was a nice surprise. The Thai Iced Tea was just sweet and smooth enough with my Garlic chicken (no rice sub wide egg noodles - my new go to change). Customer service was amazing and the follow up after the food was delivered confirmed I made the right choice. And yes, they were following strict COVID safety measures. We had a group order here for dinner. We had a "to go" order. The order was ready on time and it was hot! I ordered the cashew chicken. It was delicious and flavorful! The problem: the ingredients were so thinly cut and so small! The carrots were about 1/10 of a centimeter thick, it was so flimsy. The chicken slices (if you could call them slices) were like little shreds of meat. If you put all the chicken meet together in a heap, it would probably have been only two spoonfuls. It was just sad. Thank goodness it came with rice. I just doused that with sauce and ate a lot of it to keep myself full. I am not raring to go back. read more
