They also repaired window trim bricks to coordinate with my window replacement, and gave me a very good price for that extra work. Everything was done on schedule, and the work looks fantastic. Monroe's management/customer relations team has been nothing but disorganized, unresponsive, and full of excuses when it comes to resolving their own procurement and operations problems. Essentially, we've been trying to get them to finish the job that we paid them for in January--almost 4 months ago!! We hired Monroe to replace a wood-burning fireplace with a gas fireplace, including demo, installing new slate tile trim and hearth and a new mantel. The main work was done in January, and I have nothing but good to say about the subs who actually did this work. They were efficient, professional, worked fine around our pets, and we're happy with the new fireplace. HOWEVER, the mantel that we ordered from Monroe was not right, not even close to expected, so we told the subs not to install it. Monroe agreed to order a replacement, and they demanded that we pay the rest of the invoice in good faith. In the months since, we've contacted Monroe countless times via email and phone, and each time, we have to reintroduce ourselves and re-explain the problem. Each time, Monroe tells us that the mantel is on its way, or it's backordered, or it's in the facility but they haven't scheduled the install yet, or whatever. Damon is always busy/out of the office/will call us back, despite countless messages left on his line. Monroe Fireplace is still blowing us off as I write this.
