We said we needed an older gas fireplace likely replaced in a home we just purchased, as we wanted to add a remote control and a fan, but Chase said let's start with a service, and that our fireplace could likely be retrofitted with a remote and fan. Not only did we get an appointment within days, Casey showed up exactly on time, and even called to let us know he was on his way. He used care and caution in our home, and was very respectful by taking his shoes off without even being asked. Casey came prepared with parts necessary for the retrofit. After the main servicing of the 28 year old fireplace, he told us it could easily be fitted with a remote, and that it already had a fan - that was broken. He quickly retrofitted for the remote and installed a new fan. We were so happy that we didn't have to replace the entire fireplace. We cannot recommend this company enough! read more

I'm very dissatisfied with Chase with Precision Energy. I chose him from a long list of competitors, based on the reviews on Yelp. I called him last Friday, personally, to have him come out to my Moms place today, for a service to her Fireplace Insert. He gave us a quote and a window of 5 hours, 11am-4pm. My Mom kept her fireplace off, anticipating his service call. This is her only heat source and was cold to the touch, when I followed up with her on how things went today. Chase called her at 4pm, after 5 hours waiting, to let her know that he was not coming today. He seemed surprised that someone else didn't alert her about this. He asked if she wanted to re-schedule this service, and she said no! If someone intends to be in business, they need to know what customer service means to their customers. FYI... This means following up after a couple hours to let the customer know you are running behind and need to reschedule, not after 5 hours. We would not recommend Precision Energy, as they do not reach out to their customers, even when they patiently wait all day for a service that never comes. I recommend they hire a good customer sales rep, to follow up with their customers, if things are getting behind earlier than after 5 hours. My Mom lost her whole days plans because of this and was cold for no reason. We have a fireplace that is almost 30 years old and was serviced by another company a few years ago however never was the same and eventually stopped working. Chase from Precision Energy NW came to inspect our fireplace because it was not staying lit. He tested the parts and the valve wasn't working. One the spot he gave us a reasonable quote and replaced both the pilot assembly and the gas valve. He cleaned it well, adjusted the flame up a bit and did safety tests. We had Precision Energy come after exhaustive research about our fireplace insert and the parts needed. A previous company quoted $8k-11k saying the insert needed replacing and the masonry would need replacing because the original valve had been discontinued. Chase had the correct valve with him. I can't say enough about Precision Energy. I have had 5 people try to fix my gas fireplace and he is the only one who actually knew what was wrong and fixed it easily and inexpensively. The last company of come out only checked the thermopile and then wanted to charge me $3500 to replace the entire control unit. If that had actually been what was wrong Precision would have done it for $1600. Chase diagnosed the problem almost immediately and then opened up the 02 valve which had never been opened since the unit was installed 20 years ago. He was very polite, cleaned everything up for me. For the first time in 20 years the fireplace works correctly and now I don't have all the soot that was being produced because the 02 valve was closed. All this for his regular cleaning fee of $299. I am writing this review 7 months after we had our wood burning fireplace converted to Gas from Precision Energy. These guys (we worked with Chase and Bryson) were amazing in their communication and work ethic. They were able to fit us into their schedule on short notice, whereas some more 'established' businesses had a month+ wait for fireplace works! Their price was very competitive, estimates of time and work were fairly accurate. The products they offer to install are of a wider range (you will find less expensive options) than some other local merchants I contacted. More so, their follow-up after the job has been phenomenal - we had two minor issues/questions after installment, both times Bryson checked in to help the very day after I contacted them. We started having issues with our gas fireplace and unfortunately had two other companies come out to take a look at it before we found Precision Energy. The first technician to come out didn't even come close to fixing the problem and we're pretty sure he made it worse. We ended up having two more techs from another company come out and they diagnosed the problems with an estimate of 1600.00 to fix them.
