I visited Lever Cafe for the first time this morning (12/26) and had such a lovely experience. The space itself is incredibly cute, and despite it being very busy (likely with the post-Christmas rush), everything ran so smoothly. The line stretched nearly halfway through the café and took about 20 minutes, with a constant flow of people coming in, yet the staff handled it all with such grace and professionalism. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I know how challenging those peak moments can be, which made me even more impressed. Every single person working this morning was phenomenal, and I really wanted to give the team a well-deserved shoutout for their energy, kindness, and efficiency. I ordered a savory pastry, a croissant-muffin with ham and egg, and it was absolutely delicious. I would 100% recommend it. I also ordered a matcha latte, which was made beautifully and perfectly balanced. As someone who truly loves a good matcha (and appreciates thoughtful matcha art!), I was especially impressed. I also want to give a special thank-you to one of the baristas who went out of his way to help me with a unique request. That extra bit of care genuinely made my day and speaks volumes about the level of service here. Overall, this was such a positive experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Lever Cafe to anyone looking for great food, excellent drinks, and truly outstanding staff. read more

First time here and I already know I will be back. Found it thru google maps and man!!! I wish I knew about this place sooner. Ordered 3 items: Heirloom Tomato Puff Pastry $5.75 Iced latte $6 True cold brew $6 The Heirloom Tomato Puff Pastry is SO GOOD! I asked the cashier for a recommendation on the food items and they said "so many" but I went with the first thing they listed and I'm so glad I did! It's puffy, flaky, juicy, savory and just so delicious. I should have ordered two! One to eat there and one to go Lol. The iced latte however was a little milkier than I would prefer. Saw the barista top it off with more milk on top after pouring into the ice cup (probably would have been perfect without the extra pour, but all good!) coffee flavor was still pretty good :) The true cold brew has a unique aftertaste, really nice. Cozy local cafe. They have outdoor seating both in the front and back, the front is sunny in the morning. Funky mis-matched wood tables and chairs, homemade items for sale, friendly staff. Wait is a little long perhaps due to the lever method they're using. My coffee was served in handmade style mug and my warm apple turnover was served on a wood block, both were delicious. They mean it when they say pet friendly, there were dogs both inside and out. I would skip this place if you don't like dogs. I was able to park right out front (got lucky!) but parking is very limited in the small Alamo Plaza lot, so as another said, try Danville Blvd. read more

Stopped by at 10:30am on a rainy Thursday and it was packed! Lots of folks with laptops -- I don't think there was an available table inside, which also meant parking spaces were tough to come by. Be sure not to park in a spot that's designated for the businesses next door. Seems it is (or was) a big issue, as signs prominently state No Lever Coffee Parking and that you'll be towed. Grabbed an Iron Horse iced coffee ($5.50) for the road and enjoyed it on my drive to the city. Not exactly sure what it's comprised of, but it was a little sweet and the milk ratio was good, just a splash. :) The barista who took my order was quick to assemble it and let me wait at the register. Both baristas working were friendly during our limited interaction. Looks like there's an outdoor seating area, which will be great in the coming months. It's a good cafe with beverages and snack options similar to any other, but I noticed few visitors working /studying on their laptop, so could be regulars making good use of their visit. I also noticed that they have a meeting room which can be pre booked, so that's convenient for many I assume. There are fair amount of spots for parking, but could get congested in the weekends. Had the earl grey matcha with a plain warmed croissant. Matcha was tasty but the croissant was dried out and for $5.50 was unfortunately too small. I went there for an espresso and almond milk late. I was driving by the down and decided to turn in and it was absolutely worth it! This place has an amazing ambiance and looks really cool looking rustic espresso coffee shop. They asked with roast I would like and that's great. They had dark and medium roast available. I really enough the fact that the decor of the place is an homage to western town building. They kept it up with the wood tables, benches and chairs. Its a quaint little place with plenty of seating while it almost takes you away from fancy modern day coffee shops. They make all their syrups in house and my favorite is the vanilla lavender. Not too sweet and finishing with a hint of the lavender flower. Watching them pull the espresso is awesome. If youre like me who is into espresso machines and geeks out to them, learning about their espresso machine wnd watch how yhe espresso is pulled makes you all giddy. And it pulls a heck of a good espresso. Was in town for a event. So we decided to go get some coffee. Not to many options in San Ramon. But based on the reviews, this was the place to try. They have the standard coffee menu, plus specialty drinks and teas. I like that they make homemade syrups. It's usually better than the artificial syrups, unless you like the fake extra sugar taste. It's no wonder this place has almost a five star review The coffee is incredible and the pastries are made fresh daily, which is pretty awesome, Unfortunately, some of the pastries that I used to particularly come here for are not being made anymore but they still have some incredible options to choose from . The place where they make the pastries is attached to the coffee shop literally like right next door and you can look inside and sometimes you can watch them make the dough . Came here to kill time with the ladies before lunch. I ordered the iron horse iced coffee with less ice and oat milk, my friend ordered their sunny favorite lavender lemonade, and my cousin ordered a latte. I got the iron horse because it has sweetened ice coffee, but if you like things sweet this wasn't that sweet so I had to add more to my liking. It also tasted more like oat milk than coffee sadly. My friends lavender lemonade tasted like you were drinking lavender essential oils.. and I usually love drinking lavender lattes but I think the lemonade heightened the lavender while drinking it. I love the outdoor spots and decided it was the perfect spot to study at. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a gentleman who stopped what he was doing to take my order.
