I visited as part of a Yelp event. Boy am I glad I did not miss this. There were too many options for the matcha drink but I went with the banana bread and it was delicious - a matcha drink with a slight taste of banana bread which was surprising. I then tried the mint ice cream and my hubby sampled it too. Again, there were so many options to pick from. My hubby enjoyed it and it's hard to please him. It was EXCELLENT! Prices are reasonable. Will be back again to try the other flavors. Even more enjoyable was the friendly staff to make it a great experience!
Every flavor is trying too hard and catering to vegans, the lactose intolerant, etc. The shop is cute, the staff was nice and the 80s music was bumping. The things we ordered were blah even after trying several. There is no indoor seating or tables at all.
Back from a review hiatus just to write this.. I visited on a Tuesday morning last week to start my solo day on a high, and being greeted by the barista was my first interaction of the day (who was super sweet!). Right off the bat, she was attentive even while preparing another customer's drink and gave me a few minutes to decide before ordering. I opted for their banana bread matcha as I don't really see that on the menu at other cafés. I also make my own matcha at home, so I like to order things I normally don't put in the effort to make for myself. I initially had low expectations because Lafayette + Walnut Creek lack decent matcha-based drinks (imo), so while I had my doubts, I'm happy to say that this drink actually proved me wrong! I took the first sip in my car and proceeded to chug down half of it before turning my car on. I don't think my photo shows how vibrant the color of the drink is either. As a barista myself, I really enjoyed the drink itself and how it really tasted like banana bread in a cup, without masking the matcha flavor; It was a balanced drink that wasn't overwhelming or heavy at all. I also appreciated having a pleasant interaction to kick off my weekday, though I can see how Lafayette Scoop could get super busy on weekends and cause longer wait times. Already planned my second trip with a friend to try out more of their Summer menu!

We ordered the Black Sesame Vanilla Matcha and a scoop of Black Raspberry Chip ice cream (by recommendation, and it did not disappoint)! Fun fact: All of the ice creams available are Bay Area ice cream makers! I thought that was a great idea to support our locals. The black sesame vanilla matcha was delicious. I grew up with black sesame desserts, so I always get excited whenever I see black sesame on the menu. Almond and Oat milk are the available alternative "milk" options. Unfortunately they were not well staffed enough to let us sample other ice cream flavors, but we would definitely come back to try other menu items!

Recently visited here to try their Matcha since I heard it was the best in Lafayette! Overall the staff here was kind, the matcha was great and the store had a cute ambiance. However the prices are a bit steep in my opinion for a latte but it at least is a tasty one! Great spot for that if you're in the area, would be curious to try their Ice cream sometime in the future too! I got the Banana Bread matcha, I enjoyed it I would say it tasted more like bread than banana but it was a good flavor!
This is a ice cream spot thats serves matcha as well. Employees are friendly, there was a bit of a wait since they do hand whisk the matcha. I got the premium matcha with oat milk and was excited to try it since the color looked so great, however the oat milk taste overpowered the matcha. I'll visit again and try regular milk next time since the reviews are so good.
Service was quick and the employees were nice. I went for ice cream and it was great! I liked the assortment of flavors and as someone with a nut allergy I REALLY appreciate that they made labels for every ice cream with allergens and had a sign to ask them about allergens if you have allergies. Very helpful and appreciated! I got a double scoop of the raspberry sorbet and it was a perfect sweet and tart cold treat for the summer. The waffle cone was good too.
Been here a few times now to get the scoop. Good selection of ice cream and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Especially good on a hot day.
What an Amazing place Lafayette scoop is! We had so much fun because the minute you walk up to scoop you were happy because the colors are there. The restaurant is popping and people are happy. The service there is incredible. The people that work there are so nice and so fun. The ambience is really cool. The food is great because the ice cream comes from all the best ice cream places in the Bay Area my favorite being Mariannes from Santa Cruz so I was thrilled. I hope they will get chocolate chip because that's my very favorite. They had amazing Matcha flavors and my son loved having the raspberry Matcha. They were eating inside and out. I highly recommend it a great place.
I had a raspberry Matcha with oat milk. Each Matcha is hand whisked! They went light on the raspberry because I was worried it might be too sweet, and it was perfect. It was quite delicious and I'll be back to try different flavors as Matcha is my new obsession. It was a super hot day so I couldn't resist to also get an ice cream cone. They get their ice cream from different small suppliers around the Bay Area. My friend got a cup and I think that you get a more generous serving with a cone. So many great flavors both for the Matcha and ice cream, for sure I'll be back to try more. Service was super friendly, the owner was present. No seating inside, but you can stand by the counter in the air-conditioning, or there are a few tables and benches outside. Don't forget to feed your meter, they actively ticket in this lot. Minimum time is one hour for $2.
I visited Lafayette Scoop. I had an Earl Gray Matcha. My friend chose the Ube ice cream. I tasted her ice cream, and it was yummy. We received extra value customer service from Buki the balloon artist. Buki twisted ballons into detailed designs with ease. All in all it was a festive fun day with great treats and people.

Visited again with a friend and we ordered the raspberry matcha and black sesame vanilla matcha drinks. Love that they whisk and combine the matcha drinks, fresh to order. As a result, it typically can take about 15 minutes for a drink order. Both our matcha drinks were very tasty and refreshing. Last time I visited I had tried the same black sesame vanilla matcha drink and had a scoop of the Pink Paradise gelato ice cream, which was amazing. So fragrant and deliciuous! From what I understand, they source their gelato locally from a handful of dairy farms and ice cream makers. And they also partner with 3rd Culture bakery (in Berkeley) for some bakery items from time to time too. I went online after my last/first visit here and also appreciated learning about how the co-founders' vision and operations of this locally owned business is to give back and participate in the local Lafayette community. This venue is in a shopping plaza with other small food and apparel stores. Parking is metered and about $2 per hour. read more

I visited as part of the Yelp Elite event (and brought a bunch of friends)! A cute scoop shop in a plaza within easy driving distance from the freeway. There isn't a whole lot of seating inside but there are plenty of benches and tables in the surrounding area. When I walked in I was greeted by the friendly matcha barista and then served by the girl scooping ice cream for the customer before me. They had plenty of unique flavors that day by local creameries such as Marianne's, Mitchell's, and Humphrey Slocombe. I got a scoop of the ube blueberry with fruity pebbles and a premium matcha latte. Both the scoop and the matcha were delicious - the scoop was creamy and had a great flavor and just the right amount of mix-ins, and the matcha was just a touch sweet with a good matcha flavor. Lafayette is really far for me but if they had a closer location I'd definitely visit again! read more

This was my first time in Lafayette and I'm glad I stumbled across this place! Although it's known as an ice cream shop I came for the matcha and was pleasantly surprised! We got the earl grey matcha, mint matcha, and banana bread matcha. I loved how the workers hand whisk the matcha and it's not watered down at all, the mint matcha was fresh and still had a good sweetness to it, same with the earl grey. The banana bread was also delicious! The only thing I would say was that I tasted more hints of cinnamon rather than banana but it was still good overall. I loved the pink decor inside as well and they have a few seats inside and outside. Overall wouldn't mind coming back if I'm in the area! read more

Lafayette finally has its own ice cream shop! It's super cute and I've taken my daughter a few times already. You can also take pints to go and they recently started serving matcha, too (haven't tried yet). Metered parking is plentiful in the parking lot right in front. My only request is for them to add basic flavors like chocolate and strawberry, which were not available on our last visit. read more

The ladies at the front are always so sweet, and I really like their banana bread matcha with oat milk! It is a beautiful green color, not too milky and not too overpowering of a banana flavor. The "Scoop" on this ice cream shop is that they change their flavors every week! I came here on Sat 4/42026 with a friend; I had a kid's scoop of the cinnamon churro ice cream and she had an earl grey matcha. The cinnamon churro flavor was evident! Also, the ice cream was hard to get out of the carton but the employee scooping it had the patience of a saint and still managed to get me a generous serving for a kid's cone. Watching the matcha whisked by hand was cool. Can't wait to see what flavors they have next! read more

New ice cream spot in town! YAY!! Clean interior and super welcoming staff. It doesn't seem the ice cream is made in house as the flavors have labels that include where the ice cream is from, such as Mitchell's, Double Rainbow, etc. Kind of like a curation of various unique flavors depending on the week/day/etc. Anyways, my daughter has gone here several times and have enjoyed the flavors. She's tried Ube, mango, and mint chip. The Ube isn't too sweet and has nice subtle flavors with some bits in there. She thought the mango was good, but didn't say much about it, and mentioned the mint chip tasted like fresh mint. I was amazed by the various flavors when I tried- churro, Mexican chocolate, unity, and more. I asked what some of them were as the name isn't clear to describe the flavor, and they were super knowledgeable. I got a single with Ube and the coconut. Both were excellent. Couldn't believe the coconut one was vegan. So good!! It is a bit pricey as it's $7 base for a single size, but would def come again to try more flavors and check out more of their offerings. read more

This place is so good, I don't usually care about ice cream but yummmmm. They have a bunch of different ice cream brands which is what makes them unique, usually you get only one brand so if you don't love their type of ice cream you're out of luck. They rotate through flavors and have everything from double rainbow to curbside creamery. Soon they'll bring in Marianne's which is exciting. They have vegan, gluten free, and regular dairy ice cream. Basically everyone can find something they like here. The flavors they choose are top notch. There isn't anything I've tried that wasn't tasty. All kinds of interesting flavors too, so it's not just the basics. We will definitely keep coming back. The place is super clean and the service is great. It'll be good if they add some stools along the little wall counter top they have. Super easy parking. read more

I went here after a jaunt at a nearby park. It had just opened as of today and was expecting a huge line. We went on a super beautiful day and we had no line to wait in. They had a couple of flavors to choose from and the Scoop gals were super friendly and helpful. They are different ways to get your scoops as cups or cones. The ice cream was good but the prices were a little steep for 2 separate scoops. They had different flavors I would like to try and maybe get some toppings like chocolate sprinkles. read more
