My partner and I were up in Napa for a road trip and we were heading back down to LA first thing in the morning. Before we got deep into our drive, we wanted to stop for some coffee, and this spot happened to be open and on our way. We're not super familiar with coffee in the Bay Area, and for most of our trip we hadn't chosen great shops to visit. Panama Bay, however, really surprised us. A lot about this spot felt unassuming to us. It's a small cottage on the corner that stands out from the taller, more modern apartment buildings around it. There's not much space indoors. All of their seating is outdoors, located next to their outdoor pickup window. It's a little more offbeat than your average coffee spot, but it's really charming. The great service was one of the first things I noticed. Our two baristas were very friendly, chatting with us about our trip, and giving menu recommendations. All of this was greatly appreciated, especially since their menu has many options. They had an extensive list of syrup flavors, lattes, pour over coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. I grabbed a banana latte, and breakfast sandwich. The coffee was flavorful, and the sandwich has the best chipotle mayo. My partner tried the Mayan pour over, and he really loved his drink. Everything that we ordered was fantastic, and the friendly baristas really made our visit. This was easily the best coffee spot we visited during our trip I definitely recommend dropping by this spot if you're nearby, and I'll definitely be back in the future if I'm ever back up north. read more

I got the banana bread latte (one of their most popular drinks) and it was super yummy!! I can see why it's their popular, would love to get again. I got fooled by the line outside! It's faster service if you download their app and order. They offer plenty of flavors which I think may be the appeal? But if you get decision fatigue, then this place might not be for you. Staff is friendly and moving as quickly as they can. Their iced coffee is also slushy like. I prefer mine with light ice. Ava took my order and was super friendly welcoming me in and pointed out their many flavor shot options. We made small talk about the little frog that was rescued and now a member of the shop as seen in the photo. She asked how I heard about them and I told her my aunt recommended it to me for the castle-like aesthetic. Though, that was just a bonus as my order was delicious too! I ordered the Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin, which was perfectly moist. It was more on the chocolaty side, which I personally love, but the banana gave it that bouncy texture. I also got an Iced Mocha with Butterscotch, oat milk, and no whipped cream. It was delicious and the perfect balance between chocolate and butterscotch. I was happy that I could actually taste the butterscotch flavoring without it being overly sweet. Next time, I would like to try one of their breakfast sandwiches and I would be curious to know if they have for-here ware to enjoy the beautiful scenery for longer. My partner and I hit the road at 5am last friday to drive back home for HOURS. an hour in, we decided we needed some coffee so I searched for some coffee shops on the way home and found this place. At first we both thought it was going to be a cheap espresso and coffee pot shops so our expectations weren't very high yet once we arrived we completely changed our minds. The exterior is cottage-y and whimsical which we thought was cute since the rest of the neighboring buildings were nice apartments and buildings. When you walk in, the 2 female workers were super friendly by greeting us and starting to chat with us about our day. They have a HUGE list of coffee syrups to pick from which was great since we love different flavors yet not many places have the flavors we want! The workers were freshly making their breakfast sandwiches on croissants and asked if we wanted one because they smelled wonderful. My partner got an iced banana latte and a sandwich. He said the sandwich was delicious and devoured it all. As well as his coffee, I tried some and they perfectly added just enough banana just so it's not too sweet nor to bland. I love pour overs, yet again not many offer them, but they had a long list of pours overs to pick from! I ended up taking the workers advice and trying the Mayan which is a spiced chocolate and cinnamon notes. Usually in pour overs, people mess them up and you can't really taste the notes or anything so it's just a black coffee. My standards still weren't very high yet as K watched them make the pour over, I trusted them a little more because they'd perfectly time it and watch everything. Once I tried it, I was taken back. It was really chocolaty and spiced! Like I took a bite of a spicy chocolate bar! I was head over heels for this pour over. The workers wished us safe travels as we left and we couldn't stop talking about how good their coffee was. It's been a few days and I'm craving another pour over so bad from this place. I highly recommend stopping at this place if you're in the area or if you want some good coffee! From the sandwiches to the pour overs, it seems like they perfected it all. read more

Panama Bay Coffee Shop is a super cute & small cafe! It's like a little fairy home, and has such a unique charm -- I especially loved the pollinator plants in their tiny garden. The space inside is very small, It's definitely a spot to grab (your coffee & pastry) and go, especially on these rainy days. There wasn't any indoor seating, but there is some outdoor seating available, but they weren't set up today as I imagine it's because its a rainy day. I was served by Sydney, she was quick to take my order which was a hot English Toffee Chai and a banana walnut muffin. Both of these were pretty good, but the more sips I took of my chai, the more I couldn't help but think "this tastes like bone broth" lol. My go-to is a large banana bread iced latte w/oatmilk and I usually specify either 3 or 4 pumps of banana syrup because I like it on the sweeter side. The banana bread iced specialty latte has been a game-changer! For food I usually order either a warmed up plain butter croissant or a spinach & feta croissant, sometimes on its own or sometimes I'll add an egg to make it a sandwich. Panama Bay is by far my favorite coffee shop in town and they are consistently punctual with their mobile delivery order prep. 11/10 recommend. read more

I'm so bummed, because the building is literally so cool and it's such a cute little coffee shop but the coffee really isn't good. I've had a few of the pastries, and they are actually really good but unfortunately, I wouldn't stop here just for a pastry alone. I think they use Torani syrup which I'm pretty sure is the reason why I don't like it. It just tastes super artificial and I've literally gone back to this place about five different times and every single drink that I've tried, I haven't liked. They have yummy breakfast bagels (egg, ham, sausage, or bacon), and for an upcharge you can make it a croissant sandwich. I enjoy using their app to order ahead. If they have any questions about your order, they even call you! Parking nearby can be tricky, but there is usually street parking within a couple of blocks, or worst case the Lesher garage will have parking. Has the potential to be the best coffee shop around. Their pour overs are usually amazing. I've tried every single one. However, the quality varies depending on who is making them. I recommend they train every team member to make their coffees to the same standard. Other than that, I still highly recommend. It's one of the few places around that I truly enjoy just a black coffee. Espresso drinks are top notch. I've always been impressed with their cappuccinos, lattes & mochas. I went in wanting a coffee because I had been over at the Lesher Center for the Arts, which has very nice art galleries by the way. I was able to get my favorite, a sugar-free vanilla latte with almond milk. The coffee taste great. But what made my day was the barista was super sweet and nice to chat with. It just adds that much when a business supports the people it works with in a way that they get to be cheerful and friendly. Definitely not corporate vibes at all. Panama Bay has a real personality. I definitely want to try the baked goods, which they make house. They looked amazing. If I hadn't just had lunch, I would've been racking up some calories. Apparently they have breakfast sandwiches in addition to the pastry. They have a drink, called a breeze, which is a blended drink kind of like a Frappuccino. Get this. This is my third time at Panama Bay and 3rd disappointment. The 1st time was back in March 2025, at that time the person behind the counter was so unwelcoming...she had a scowling expression on her face the whole time and acted like i was interrupting her slow day! The 2nd time was 2 months later around the end of May 2025, I wanted a breakfast sandwich and I was told they were closing early so they had just turned off the oven to let it cool down (however there was no courtesy sign about closing early. So i settled for a pastry which wasn't bad but not what I wanted however the service was more pleasant. Then today was my third visit--I wanted the breakfast sandwich and again was told "they were closing early at 5:30 pm (I got there at 4pm) and no courtesy sign about closing early--disappointed. So I ordered the ham & cheese croissant and an espresso. Service was a lot better however my "hot" espresso was lukewarm so I had to ask for it to be zapped in the micro and it was still barely warmer than it was when I asked to have it microwaved. Espresso's are supposed to be hot not room temp or barely warm after microwaving. Sorry PB--you've had 3 chances to prove to me you're worth it but sadly you're not. I won't be back! read more

This place exceeded my expectations. I've been looking for a time to try this place and wow. It's located at a street corner, you can't miss it! I parked on the street & it was pretty easy to find parking. I went around noon. There's also a few of parking garages nearby so you'll definitely be able to try it out, even if you're on a time crunch. I was recommended to try the Gluten Free chocolate banana muffin. I got it warmed- just marvelous! One of the best GF pastries I've had. I also ordered a medium iced matcha w/ oat milk and sweetened with honey. I added some cold foam and cinnamon on top too. I enjoyed the amount of honey they added- just the right amount so the matcha was able to shine through the oat milk. Usually some coffee shops will drown the matcha flavor with your choice of milk but this was incredible and just right. As shown in the photo, the beautiful forest-y green matcha color is alive & well. I am one to say that I am pretty picky with how my matcha is made. They did a superb job! I can't wait to come back and try some other pastries (eyeing the chocolate croissant for next time hehe).. Shoutout to the baristas, super kind & outgoing! 10/10 would so recommend! read more
