This place is just OK. When they first opened, the food was on point...always hot, and always fresh. That was short-lived though, because now I'm lucky if my food isn't overcooked or old tasting. Aside from the negative stuff, the food does actually taste good (when it's fresh). I recommend the fried chicken (not the wings), the fried shrimp, and the macaroni and cheese. Certain items (such as the fried chicken and fried shrimp) are made to order, so call ahead if you don't want to wait. The place is pretty clean from what I've seen, and it's a decent sized establishment. The service is just about as good as you would expect from teens and 20-somethings. The food is very very good. I attended a party there about 2 weeks ago with my wife as we were visiting from Tampa FL.

Won't be going back here anytime soon! Went to do carryout and the man spooning food into the Styrofoam boxes did not have on food service gloves. When my mother asked him to put some on, he tried to argue with her. Another employee told him to put the gloves on, after he got him to calm down first - but he was still very rude and combative and did not apologize. The food was not worth it, both of my parents have high blood pressure so the food was too salty for them. They took a few bites and threw it away. It wasn't salty to me, but it also was not very good it terms of taste so needless to say my portion went in the trash as well. I do not remember what they ordered, but I had baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, yams and string beans. The yams had some potential in terms of taste, but were overcooked. The string beans tasted straight out of the can and the chicken was dry. I'm not big on gravy, so perhaps that would have made it more palatable. Worst of all was the macaroni and cheese. YUCK! I didn't even make it past one bite. It had a strange custard-like texture....maybe it was under cooked? If not, I don't know even know how to explain it. All I know is that the sauce was inedible and the noodles were very soft. My cornbread was also stale, but my mother said her's tasted fine. She must have received a piece from a fresher batch. Hopefully, a manager or the owner at Levi's and someone from the department of health sees this post! Please let your employees know it is important (and mandatory!) that they use gloves all of the time. Though it is not your job your employees have home training, it may be a good idea to instruct them on how to provide quality customer service. read more

Soul Food is what is on the menu. This is a restaurant with a carryout. It is much nicer inside than your typical carryout, nice atmosphere and jazz music playing. There was a dining room and a bar on the other side. You can walk up, stand in line and order cafeteria style to go. This is what I did for lunch. I had intended to order the BBQ pork sandwich, but when I saw chicken and dumplings on the specials, I quickly changed my mind. Glad I did. This is the kind of chicken and dumplings that has whole pieces of chicken, so be mindful of the bones. It was SOOOOO GOOOD!!!! I had a side of yams and macaroni and cheese (which were both very good) and then went into a carb coma. Of course I could not finish all the food they gave me and I look forward to having left overs tomorrow. Very good comfort food! I am not sure what happened that day...but this food was not good. We went on Sunday to get dinner. I don't understand why this restaurant is not actually grilling the ribs and chicken it would make a world of difference...that and changing the bbq sauce to something edible. Was in town from Seattle, looking for great Soul Food and Levi's did NOT disappoint! The macaroni and cheese was tasty, the collard greens were Southern perfection and the BBQ pulled chicken - YUM! If I were you, I would take a pass on this place. Tried it for the first time, ordered the meatloaf. Well, let me just say, I have had better, much better. My BF ordered the smothered pork chops, yams and cabbage. He liked it. I swear, that man will eat anything and say its good. lol. But I think its more so, if he does not have to put in the work and cook it, its good. Anywho.... back to the meatloaf, it was not MEAT. Went here today, order baked chicken, collards, corn and cornbread. The chicken and cornbread were great!!! The collards were a tad too sweet and gritty for me, didn't bother to finish them! The corn was HORRIBLE, it was days if not weeks old, I literally spit it out!!! How can u serve anyone old corn!!! There was no snap, crunch or pop to it at all!!! Shame on u for serving that!!! Although I have few soul food restaurants to compare to, this one was a very nice experience. From the jazzy and old motown music, and the large selection of menu items like ribs, chicken, liver and onions as well as excellent sides from cabbage, lima and butter beans, yams, black eyed peas and okra the soulful flavor was truly delightful. Service was friendly, but slightly slow (only because my liver and onions was made to order), but well worth the wait. The liver and onions with lima beans and cabbage and side of cornbread was hearty and delicious. There was ample parking and seating inside which made me wonder why it was not busier since the amount of food for the dollar is excellent! For a place with cost slightly higher than Mc Donald's, the food was 10 times better and more nutritious. Bon Appetite! read more

We tried Levi's in Clinton on yesterday and we were a little disappointed. We ordered two dinners which were meatloaf (delicious) and chitterlings. The meatloaf dinner ordered should have been with mac & cheese with greens. However, they failed to give me greens and I instead got sweet corn. Both dinners had the mac & cheese which was really disappointing. The mac & cheese didn't appeared to be baked mac & cheese and it almost appeared that they used Kraft American cheese on top. The chitterlings were good according to the person eating them and he didn't complain about his cabbage which was ordered. The meatloaf I ordered had the tomato sauce which was a bit sweet but really good. I don't know if I will order food from here again but I guess it beats the Oxon Hill location hands down. I tried this place both in Mitchellville, MD and Clinton, MD. Both were equally as disgusting. The food is served cafeteria style and if they have not been busy that day (which they are usually not when I come there) there is a high probability your food has been sitting there all day... and that is EXACTLY what is tastes like. The food is never fresh and if you ask them how long something has been sitting there, they just lie and act like it was just made. If you have skin forming over your gravy because its been sitting there all day then you stir it and it forms huge chunks, please do not expect to survive very long and don't tell me someone just made that. Levi's is a huge disappointment. I wanted Soul Food on this side of town that was not made by Asians but this place is not it. The restaurant, while big and nicely decorated is always dirty, the tables, floor, condiments, window sill, everything is gross. After seeing 3 dead flies on the window beside my table, having my hand stick to pepper shaker because it was sticky and probably never wiped clean, my food being cold, nasty and greasy, and the staff being completely GHETTO. I can say Levi's taught me to NEVER ever come here again. I don's care if I was starving and they were giving this food away, would I ever eat it again. read more

You just can't go wrong at Levi's. The food is absolutely phenomenal, the facilities are very clean and the staff is always friendly. They do a solid job getting people in and out during lunchtime too! This location also has a full bar with good happy hour specials. Some of my favorite foods include: BBQ Beef Ribs - The meat just falls right off the bone, and they are a generous portion (mostly meat too!) Southern Chicken Wings - Every Sunday I can, I try to get over to Levi's for these wings. It has become part of my Sunday football routine! They are a little spicy, but very good, and the portion is large too, as it comes with 2 sides. Mac and Cheese - some of the best I have ever had. It's very creamy and cheesy with great flavor. I always have this as one of my sides, and I even catered a large dish for a party before and it was a hit! I have honestly never had a bad meal at Levi's. If you are looking for some great southern soul food at valuable prices, this is the place to go. They have 2 locations that I know of, one in Clinton and another in Mitchellville, try it out, you won't regret it! read more

Today 4/17/14 was my first and last visit. I was so disappointed.... My food which was the curry chicken, mac n cheese, and green beans was horrible to the point I just threw it all in the trash. I also brought a slice of cake which was cold as ice. I felt like I was in the hood.. The place wasn't clean and the staff consisted of a bunch of teenage kids who don't care about the service. Never, will I go to that place again.... Why have a business if you're not going to give it 150% they need to have dignity and close the doors to that place. I am very picky on who I give great ratings to, and if Levi's had better competition in the area I could bump them down to 4 stars. In the meantime I will say that I go here about 3 times a month for a reason...it is really really quality food. The country style steak is the best thing on the menu; simply put it is FANTASTIC!!! The spare ribs are tender, moist, and delicious. The NC style BBQ is 7 out of 10 (I am from NC and can honestly say I am the expert). This place is far better than all the restaurants in a 5 mile radius. The cornbread is yummy as can be. Moderately priced and only half as good. I was disappointed in the quality of food here. I visited this place during its first week of opening and there was a long line. Even after placing our order, we still had to wait about 15-20 min for our food to be prepared. I had fried chicken, greens and mac and cheese. The chicken was ok, the greens were so-so, and the mac and cheese I could have made myself, and I only know how to make Kraft mac and cheese. I believe the line was only long for new people to try it, just as we were, because I certainly would not be going back. My boyfriend had the ribs, which were very fatty, and the same sides as me, so his meal was not at all any better. I would strongly urge you to visit the soul food Diner across the street (used to be Hubbard's, but they changed the name) next to the Suntrust Bank and funeral home if you don't want to travel too far, but hands down, the best soul food restaurant in the area is Carolina's Kitchen in Largo, MD. OK, I tried this place again, just to be fair. My pork chops were horrible, there was rap music blazing a loud as a club "Bone thugs" to be exact. It was a pure hood experience. There was a guy dancing behind the counter, I'm sorry folks the renovations are excellent but this is not the high school cafeteria, the expectations are higher and folks are not there for free lunch. My suggestions is get a standardize uniform like Ruby Tuesdays owned other restaurants and change things around a bit. First things first, move the serving line out of view. My suggestions is get rid of the bar and move it over there. No one is ever there, it's wasted space. There is no need to see the food just serve it. The bar side could be for carry out patrons. The other side I suggest investing in some silver ware and real plates kill the rap music play some lite jazz, R&B or Gospel. Finally, dress for success, either establish a dress policy or kiss ever becoming a credible location for dining. I would say carry out is 75% of your business so either shut down the dining in or make it a better experience. I'm old school but eating out of a Styrofoam container while setting in a well decorated restaurant is kind of oxymoronic if you ask me. So I have been here a few times with my husband as the station at Andrews. I must say in the past I felt like I had an enjoyable meal..but clearly not memorable. Typically i would get barbecue chicken macaroni and cheese and collard greens . Well today was the last day I will visit this place. The food is well how can i describe it --the barbecue chicken was only good because the sauce is fairly good yet i give no compliment to the chicken... I had dark meat and it was too close to dry. The macaroni and cheese is awful it was loaded with pepper today soft mushy noodles and cheese pieces everywhere that clearly was not mixed well enough and the collard greens I could not even eat. Maybe the previous owners took the recipes with them when they left, well my business goes with the recipes so whoever was cooking the food before I'm sorry you left but as far as I'm concerned I'm leaving too!!! read more

I am new to Clinton and patronized this restaurant, but on the Carry Out side. It was delicious, hot, seasoned and I enjoyed every morsel. The staff was pleasant, but it took almost 15 mins, but was worth it. The prices of the entrees were fine and the establishment could use a remodel, but the food and service was superb!! I had meat loaf smothered in gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans with corn bread. I enjoyed everything about my meal and will return with my kids today for fish & smothered chicken, cabbage and sweet potatoes. I am sold, Levi's in Clinton, MD rocks!!! read more

The place is beautiful. Nice ambiance but the food is horrible. There is no Soul in it at all. I thought it was a fluke the first time so I gave it a second try but it was bad the second go around too.
