Indie bookstores are my favorite - and this space is adorable! It's not big, but it's packed with…read moregreat books, beautiful decor, and even a used book area. Personally, I love stores with personality. You know the place, where there are little built ins for sitting, and slanted walls, and a wall of vintage books designed as art that make you stop and just want to take it in. Thats this place.... Just charming. The kids section is pure magic! Whomever designed it did it thoughtfully. There's a top shelf that really paints the picture. It has an umbrella with clouds on it, along with crowns and swords. It just makes you want to hang out in this room all day. And this room is filled with stories waiting to be told. Books waiting to be read. Chairs waiting for children to sit in them. Just lovely!

I love coming to this charming bookshop that has an in house coffee shop as well. I love that they partner with local businesses and display local goods in the store. There's usually parking in the front and side of A House with Books. I perused their stickers and picked up a couple of them. They also have plants for sale near where seating for Casi Cielo is. I ordered the apple cider donut and the London fog (Jane Austen inspired). The cider was crunchy and sweet which paired well with the London fog. There's a beautiful story behind Casi Cielo and I enjoyed meeting the co-owner Marisa. I look forward to my next visit to A house with books.

I'm so glad there are still Barnes & Noble bookstores. Big selection of books; don't you just love the feel of a real book in your hand in these days of digital content?? Pretty clean store, save a few (coffee, I'm sure) stains on the carpet near the coffee shop. Smells like new books and coffee. The Starbucks does NOT accept the Starbucks app, btw, in case that applies to you! The staff are friendly enough and were patient with us as we made our selection and negotiated the payment method between members of our party. Prices aren't cheap, but they do honor some price matching. I think it's worth it to keep physical book stores around. Imagine all those sad and lonely freshly printed books hanging out in the dark, tucked away in large boxes in a warehouse waiting to be sold... instead of being propped or stacked on a shelf with many a peruse-r to handle them until "the one" decides to take you home!

Their greeting card selection is really cute. The friendly staff is always ready to help me find a book or offer a reading suggestion. If you haven't been in the past few years, B&N started a loyalty program in 2023 to make its prices more competitive. For free, you can earn "stamps" that result in discounts (currently $5 off for every 10 stamps earned), and for a reasonable yearly fee you can upgrade to be a Premium member and earn 10% off everything every day. As an avid reader with a family of readers, it is totally worth it, and (do the math!) usually cheaper than competitors (*always* cheaper when I'm reading more obscure stuff). If you enjoy earning free stamps, it is worth signing up for the B&N newsletter to keep an eye out for double/triple points days. They always have deals on bestsellers and daily BOGO 50% tables, so you have a new selection of deals to hunt through each time you visit.
