They serve a honey lavender flavor almost year round that is incredible. My personal favorite is the marzipan flavor served during the holidays. They don't skimp on the quality and intensity of flavor. This last visit I also asked if they would give me a single bite of vanilla ice cream on a disposable spoon for my dog, and they kindly obliged. Wonderful local spot that always brings smiles :)

There was only one hardworking young lady behind the counter, so we had to wait a bit. I don't know what they were baking in the backroom, but the sweet aroma was just captivating. I asked for a scoop of Dark Chocolate in a cup. The "tap to pay" system made the transaction quick and simple. The ice cream was rich, creamy, with a bitter aftertaste. Very good! For $5.25. it satisfied my ice cream craving.

Each week they have a different batch of flavors, so there's always something new to explore. There's like 6 flavors to choose from at once and they let me try them all before I selected my choice hehe. I tried to sample 6 flavors at Cold Stone and they took me out back and shot me, but here, nobody was mean to me. Mr. Potatohead is the flavor I landed on--brown sugar custard with peanut butter swirl and chocolate covered potato chips. The chunks of chocolate covered potato chips were lodged in the ice cream and I felt like an archaeologist excavating ancient rocks as my spoon lifted the potato chocolate chunks out of the creamy custard into my mouth. I bought a pint. The Mick Jagger was another joy, with its salty caramel and Oreo chunks. They're lucky Peaches Christ was sold out because I might've lost my mind for a peach cobbler ice cream! Bright colors, disco ball dripping, fun sayings on the cups, the whole 9 yards. The take home pint we got has Reddit "hate" comments and their responses, it's hilarious. This ice cream store is way more of a vibe than any marketing agent could dream of. Who would've thought I wish I could be a rep for an ice cream company? Oh and they also do a stamp card when you buy pints to get a free scoop. You bring in the containers so they can recycle them. It's a win win for both sides, loves it. Best ice cream ever!!!

I was able to track one of my AirPods to Fentons, so we went in and explained the situation to the manager, Raul. Raul told us that he had seen a couple of black bags outside the restaurant on Friday night. After waiting a day to see if anyone claimed them, the staff had wrapped the bags in trash bags and put them in the dumpster. Raul then did something we absolutely did not expect -- he jumped into the dumpster himself and started digging through the trash to find our bags. My friend and I were prepared to do it ourselves, but Raul did the heavy lifting and eventually found both bags at the very bottom. Thankfully, because they had been wrapped in plastic, everything inside was completely protected. We recovered 100% of our belongings, which we honestly thought we'd never see again. What could have been a nightmare of police reports, insurance claims and replacing everything turned into an incredible customer-service story because Raul took the time to help us. We stayed for lunch and ice cream afterward and made sure to tip Raul and the staff very generously. Everyone was kind, sympathetic and helpful. Huge thank you to Raul and the entire Fentons team. Raul, you absolutely did not have to jump into that dumpster for us, but you did -- and we'll never forget it. Fentons is lucky to have you!

There's a new frozen custard truck in town, Lexie's. I spotted Lexie's at the Alamo Square Flea Market. You can get frozen custard by the scoop ($3.25 single, $4.50 double) or as a sundae ($4.50 small, $5.50 regular). They also have ice cream pie, affogato, ice cream sandwiches, and Italian ice. Frozen custard flavors: * Vanilla * Chocolate * Strawberry * Maple walnut As you can see, their flavors are traditional. The frozen custard is local, handmade and organic. * Strawberry shortcake sundae ($4.50): Fresh strawberries, whipped cream, vanilla cookie, vanilla custard and a cherry on top. The frozen custard was dense, very creamy, smooth and sweet, without intense vanilla flavor. The homemade thin cookie was chewy and pleasant. The whipped cream wasn't as sweet as usual. Creamy frozen custard with all sorts of unusual and yummy flavor combinations! I found Lexie's at the El Cerrito Off-the-Grid event (every Wednesday next to Ace Hardware at San Pablo). She has a super-clean and cute, turquoise-and-white truck decorated with an adorable PENGUIN juggling scoops--so look for that at different places in the Bay Area. I bought a creation of handmade orange cookies with Earl Grey frozen custard sandwiched between, and it was fabulous! She also makes flavors like Mexican chocolate cookies filled with dulce de leche frozen custard, Wow! Highly recommended! read more

Lexie's is a quick dessert spot in downtown berkeley offering simple yet classic flavors, perfect for a late night dessert. The soft serve is smooth and creamy, and their sundaes are well portioned.
