I went to LG Style studio because of the great reviews. Lilly was very nice and personable. I began by telling her I wanted a twist out instead of a silk press. Online I had filled out all the services I wanted and I changed up my order because I didn't want my hair to smell like a flat iron. She rinsed my hair with water and tea tree oil and proceeded to try to brush through it. I assumed she was getting out tangles, but after she cut my ends she was still brushing and brushing when it was time to do the twist out. She showed me the brush at first, which looked fine. She said it wasn't pulling out any of my hair, but then when she was finished I spotted a football sized mass of my hair that she had somehow swept into the corner. I requested to let the twist out air dry over night instead of sitting under the dryer and putting heat in my hair.
The next day my hair had dried so I began to undo the twists. I could not even undo the twists without having to cut out knots and put water in it to try to detangle them. The 3 twists that had no knots looked so scrawny and malnourished and thin. This was not an acceptable twist out or hair style. Because of all the tangles I had to wet the hair and put conditioner in it and finger detangle the majority of my head. My hair looked weak and abraded. I put my hair in braids with conditioner and let it sit, but it did not recover the thin frailness that my hair has become. On top of that, my ends are so bad now that the only way I can get them back to how they used to be is if I do a big chop :( I've decided I will do multiple mini chops because I'm accustomed to length. But I can honestly say that Lilly ruined my hair. I got the bill and it was 65 dollars for the twist out, not a twist out with a deep condition, but a rinsing of my hair and then brushing and twisting it up. This is steep in my book, but I don't mind paying it if my hair is bangin. Then it was 20 dollars for detangling and 20 more for a trim. So I paid 100 dollars for deplorable services. The twistout was unacceptable, the trim would have been nice, but she brushed and brushed it so much after that I will need to now start with mini chops and wear a much shorter hair style. And there's just no words for the detangling. If my hair was detangled I'd be able to take out my twists without having to cut out knots. She actually made my hair more knotted than when I first walked in the shop. LG Style refuses to refund my hundred dollars, but at this point I don't even care about the money. I'm just traumatized about my brutalized hair. This has been the biggest hair mistake of my life. I'll never again go to a hairdresser. read more
