Very cute place, but the service was not fully up to par. I walk in with four of my girlfriends and we are seating. The waitress asked us if we would like some drinks and food and we proceeded to tell her that we were looking at the menu. My friends and I are all 18 and she proceeds to ask us for our IDs and we make it very clear that we would just like a round of water. She tells us if we try anything funny or try to get alcoholic beverages that we will be banned and escorted out. It was very uncomfortable and not welcoming. We told her the second she asked for our IDs at the beginning that we would just like water and she still went on a very big talk with us. I understand what she was trying to do, but it could have been said in a more professional way. We get our food a while later and a different waitress is explaining on the different meats and cheeses and is pointing to them. She proceeds to touch her finger to one of the cheeses. Keep in mind that this is during COVID. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we avoided that piece. At the end of dinner I went and asked for the manager to explain the situation. The manager was wearing no mask the entire time and did nothing to try and make up for the situation or learn from it for the future. It was a very unpleasant response. Solid restaurant with limited foodie menu. You will not go wrong here, but limited menu was the biggest issue. The lounge was a great space for a drink. We had an initial issue, however the manager, Rhonda, went WAY beyond in order to accommodate our needs! She was truly outstanding while handle others as well. One of mine and my husband's favorite restaurants. We celebrated our 7th anniversary with dinner and cocktails. We arrived early enough for happy hour with reduced prices on cocktails and delicious cheese board for $10. I ordered the spring veggies in pesto and homemade farfalle with guanchali and fresh peas. Both were light but delectable. My husband had the kale salad and salmon special which he enjoyed. They have opened a lounge that looked like a nice place to enjoy a leisurely cocktail, but also offered you the ability to order from the regular menu or have a few lighter options of bar food. Rhonda knows her cheese and it is obvious she loves serving a tremendous variety to her patrons. She has a superb knowledge of cheese. Great place and have never had anything but great food in a great atmosphere. Worth the short drive from Tallahassee to dine here. read more

Great idea and warm cozy setting, but doesn't have the food or service to meet the prices on the limited menu. Great place for a flight of wine and cheese. Inattentive waiters that do not know how to serve a fine dinner, but has a fine dinner menu and prices. The foie gras was the worst ever. Don't count on the website or outdoor menu to be served. We tried to treat our family, but instead waited on food for way to long, and was ignored for 20 minutes at a time. Do yourself a favor and come here instead of Chophouse if you are craving steak. I used to pop in here when living in Tallahassee. Other than perhaps a chance of a short wait, we always had incredible delicious food, service was impeccable and the staff always knowledgable and incredibly kind. They clearly treat their wait staff right. If you are wanting to be treated with attitude and sub par service then go down the street to the other place but I warn you that you will most definitely regret it! First off, at Liams, they have an incredible cocktail list. Absenthe and spirits galore you will find everything under the sun and moon here as far as drinks go... they even have a Beer club that meets! Their crab bisque and charcuterie are a good staple and the way to go for me, and obviously, the steak! They will cook it perfectly for you along with your preferred sides. While making my reservation on Open Table I asked if it was possible to get a vegan meal. Here's the response: "Good morning. This is Rhonda from Liam's. There are definitely vegan possibilities, and not just basic vegan, but local-farm-well-thought-out-you-shouldn't-have-to-suffer-because-you-are-vegan dishes. Our chefs are both incredibly knowledgeable as one was once himself a vegan for several years. Trust us. We will prepare amazing food for you. Any allergies?" The food and atmosphere enchanted our group - both vegan and omnis. The chef prepared the best vegan appetizer, entree, and dessert I've ever had. This was high cuisine yet familiar and comforting. My family went to Liam's on a whim instead of our usual visit to Jonah's next door. The lunch menu is pretty small but what we ordered was tasty enough. The service and hospitality was lacking - there was only one server managing seven or eight tables, which is more than some servers might have on a typical shift. But she was extremely short and frankly, had an attitude. It felt as if she was doing us a favor by taking our order... We travel up to Liam's every couple months from Monticello and can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The food is always excellent! Recently dined for lunch with my fiance. We loved the garganelli pasta, I would assume it's house made because it tasted so fresh. We were each happy with our meal, and our sweet server gave us the perfect amount of space which I always appreciate. I really enjoyed the charming aesthetic inside. I'm bummed we don't have some place like Liam's in Tallahassee. My only wish is for a cleaner restroom toilet but then again, I am a clean freak so...I'll get over it. I think this is my first 5 star rating in a long while. I had a wonderful dinner tonight at Liam's. There are a handful of choices for upscale food in Thomasville. But tonight I hit the perfect spot. Starting from the top. The beer selections covered a wide variety of types, favors and geographies - this theme repeated later. I had a Belgian style from GA and then a German. I was impressed when I walked towards the back to see a full blown cheese board. They sell it in orders of 1, 3 and something higher. I ordered a 3 and wasn't disappointed. Ronda knows her cheese. She brought over 3 delicious cheeses that were all completely different and from everywhere. The soft one was from Portugal and it reminded me of my family's farm in Portugal, the smells, the flavors it was great. The semi soft was from Spain and had a smoothness that was perfect with the bread. She later brought me a blue that absolutely melted in my mouth. And that was just the appetizer. I was able to fit in a dinner course of scallops over a risotto. Usually if one thing is great the next doesn't quite make it. Wow not tonight. The scallops were perfectly cooked, fresh and juicy. The risotto was flavorful but not overpowering. A perfect dish. The menu changes here frequently - I can't wait to see what they have in store for me next time. read more

I have always loved Liam's, but with the addition of the new bar, it is absolutely spectacular. The bar food is amazing and affordable. I am not sure how long they will have them, but you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO TRY THE PORK BUNS! It's like China meets Germany. Pork bun + mustard seeds + sauerkraut=amazing! They're priced at $5 each, and I could probably eat at least four of them. The cocktails are also great, and they have very good happy hour specials. Lunch, dinner, brunch, and late night is all great! I can't say enough good things about the Fosters and Liam's. read more

Happy Hour at Liam's was the best! Tuesday through Saturday 5pm to 7pm you get great deals on their drinks. There is a bar area for drinks and cheese boards, but there is also the restaurant side. We took seats at the bar and had a great conversation with the bartender. He recommended the oysters and while yes they are quite pricey, I did like their flavor and it was a good feeling for my palette. Next time I would love to try their cheese boards. There are a variety of cocktails here and my favorites would be the Lockheed Electra and the Rose City Special. These drinks are very fruity and have a slight sour taste with the lemons. Refreshing and not overpowering at all. I also tried the Vesper, which was super duper strong, and I had a tasty of the silly Zombie Tiki Style drink. I really enjoyed my experience here because all of the staff were talkative, inviting and very patient. This place is clean and the decor is hipster meets classy. Will definitely return here on my next trip to Thomasville. Liam's has won my heart. read more

This place is the total package: great food, drinks, atmosphere and service. I've eaten here for dinner and lunch and both were phenomenal. Liam's is a restaurant where once you try anything, you want to try everything. It would not be hard to spend more than $100 here on just yourself for wanting an appetizer, a cheese board, wine, an entree and desert- though I am not saying that it is at all overpriced. The only draw back to this place is that you have to drive all the way out to Thomasville; although the rustic setting does lend a little credibility to the all-local food on the menu. The food as usual was phenomenal. I had the steelhead trout which was perfectly cooked. The new lounge area is just beautifully done it looks like it's been there forever. What an amazing experience. First, it was half price bottle of wine night...score. The $60 bottle I paid $30 for is selling for $50+ retail and was super delicious! Liam's is top-notch all around, the owners are incredibly well-informed and very easy to talk to and will glady walk you through all the delicious menu options. My favorite thing i've ever had here was an excellent foie gras, seared perfectly and served with a deliciously acidic pineapple salsa. Fresh, rich and well balanced! One of my favorites in Thomasville. Best brunch by far. Croque-madame, French toast, and excellent coffee. Lunch and dinner are both wonderful, continuing the French-American dishes. The staff and owner are very knowledgeable and excited to educate their patrons on the dishes and ingredients. Excellent at accommodating and altering orders. I went with my mother the other day who couldn't decide between American and blue cheese on her burger so the waitress was more than happy to bring both on the side so she could decide for herself (the blue won, or course)- just a testament to their attentiveness and ultimate aim at creating an enjoyable environment and experience. I have yet to try the new cheese room but my sister has and says it is a great rival to Sweet Grass with cheese imported from all over the globe. While crossing the country watching my girls play softball I always take time to find a local pub with craft beer, good food and good service. This place has all three. Redfish was very fishy and the plate was definitely not worth the price - the scallop dish had 3 scallops! We ate dinner here on a Friday night. There was a good crowd and the service was very good. My wife said the scallops were excellent but my filet was not. Did not like that they didn't have a regular beer selection. Cheapest beer was $6. Main reason for the rating is the price. Definitely not the best value.
