Easily the best thai food i've had in/around Denver. Although they have a small menu, literally everything on their menu is amazing!! I'm a really big fan of their basil chicken which they offer from really mild to thai spicy (Incredibly hot). I had read about this place, I tried a couple of times at the indicated address but....I couldn't find it. Today I went again and after I asked to someone, I was pointed to a tiny little food truck in the middle if 16th Street. It's one man show, and man, this man can throw a show! He is very nice, and he engages you in a conversation while he cooks the orders, one at the time. I had to wait about 15 minutes because if 3 people in front of me, but it was worthy. I wanted the Drunken Noodles but they were gone, so I had the classic Chicken Pad Thai. The portion was MASSIVE, very good and for only 8$. I brought it home (very close) and, shame on me, ate it ALL! If I have to find a little little thing, perhaps I would suggest to put less noodle. I read the reviews, I waited in a half hour line (even though there were only a handful of people) and I tasted the magical Thai food of Denver... it was delicious and very much worth the wait. Yes it is just a single man cooking with a single pan in the world's smallest kitchen, but boy does he know how to whip up some of the best Thai food I've had in a while. There is one simple rule to ordering at Liang's. 1 person = 1 dish or 1 person = 2 of the same dishes. So no, you cannot come down and order for everyone in the office. This rule was put in place because it takes him about 5-10 minutes per order to cook. Please respect this rule or the people behind you will want your head! The wife and I ordered 2 chicken Pad Thai's (no egg of course). The cook got to work right away, first by cleaning the pan thoroughly before making our order. The chef interacts with you while he cooks and will answer any questions you may have or requests. He is very humble and it looks like he actually enjoys bring good Thai food to the people of Denver. The food was steaming hot and the flavors were def very fresh. The portion sizes were spot on to what I have always been used to when it comes to Thai food. Liang's Pad Thai has a distinct tamarind taste to it that I enjoy, especially when I grew up eating a lot of tamarind flavored candies. Nestled between the Uniqlo at 16th Street Mall and 7/11 across the street, this place is a true gem! I made it a mission to try this place the other week, and planned my one hour lunch break around it. I anticipated the long wait since all the food here is made to order with lots of love and care (seems to take ~5-7 mins per person). The ingredients here are fresh, and packed with tons of flavor. I ordered the pad see-ewe with pork for lunch and it was hands down, the BEST Thai noodles I've ever had. The rice noodles were perfectly portioned along with the pork, and the entire entree was seasoned to perfection! Although I waited about 45-50 mins in line, it was worth every minute. I gobbled down my entire plate so fast, I forgot to even take a picture. I'd suggest bringing a book, or making sure that your phone is charged while you wait in line so that time goes by quicker! Needless to say, I was so impressed with the food that I returned for seconds the same day. LOL! Except my second time around, I ordered the pad thai, which definitely lived up to all the rave reviews. The contrast between the noodles to the chicken was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. I asked for spicy noodles, and he delivered 100%. They indeed had a nice kick! The portions for the pad thai were definitely much more than the pad see-ewe, that I was able to eat some for dinner and save the rest for lunch the next day. So. Freaking. Legit. I came in from out of town to board, and happened to have a few hours to burn before the rest of my party flew in. But here's the thing - she is making everything from scratch as you order; you'll find it is sooo worth the wait when you see the painstaking effort she puts into preparing each dish. She is so incredibly nice as well. I ordered the pad see-ew (drunken noodles) and the panang curry. She asked me how spicy I wanted it, and I said hot hot hot! When she told me how much money i owed her i couldn't believe how cheap it was for the amount of food she was giving me. I opened the boxes and my mouth was watering as I dug into the food. The pad see-ew was amazing - just the right amount of sweetness, fresh noodles with perfect consistency, piping hot, and SPICY, just the way I like it. The panang was hands down the best I've had - it was much thicker than other places I've been to, and the balance of flavor between coconut, curry, and basil was dead on. I scarfed it down like a wild animal. I threw my low-carb diet out the window as I ate every single bit of rice that came with it. And the spiciness(!); most Thai restaurants I go to, I ask them to make their food as spicy as possible and for me it's always so weak sauce - but Liang's is legit Thai spicy. I loved it!
