Tangy, hot, and mildly sweet. My spicy pad thai hit all the right contrasting flavors just right. The freshly fried noodles from the wok were not wet and sticky either but you could say al dente. My only critique is the ratio of the ingredients used that could help with the composition and texture. The amount of bean sprouts was light. Added tofu as in traditional pad thai would be nice, though I'm sure you could pay extra for that. I was surprised the egg was fried whole as opposed to mixed into the dish. Now it was an amazing fried egg though. But composition-wise there was a lot of pure rice noodle. I associate the very best pad thai as one that has other ingredients like the egg mixed in to experience more flavors and textures in most bites, but yeah that's probably just in Thailand. There were however green onions, peanuts, and a lime wedge. The chicken was bite-sized and plentiful, which made it surprisingly well-distributed. It was a good value for under $10 and it actually was enough food to have some extra at dinner. If there ever is a sit-down restaurant that extends beyond this cart it would be nice to have pad thai with added shrimp, tofu, sprouts, and coriander. read more

Check in to my hotel and craving something spicy for lunch. There are a ton of restaurants that pop up on Yelp, but the reviews on this food truck seemed too good to be true. People had claimed that this was the best Pad Thai they've ever had. So went to try it, this is literally a one person food truck where he cooks as he takes single orders. That means there is a wait, but it is so worth it. The food is absolutely unbelievable. I got the Pad Basil with beef and it was probably the best Thai food I've ever had. Also saw him cook Pad Thai for the person before me and it looked amazing too. Spoke to the guy and he's been doing this for over seven years, really fun person, didn't even know he had a yelp page going on. Today I ordered the drunken noodles and an order of the steamed pork dumplings. If you order the dumplings with a meal, he throws in an extra dumpling :-) Be aware, the drunken noodle is not for those sensitive to spice. I asked for medium spicy, and my eyes watered. But in a wonderful way . I like when I can't tell if it's the temp or spice hahah. It was super fresh and made to order. I've been eating "American" food for a week and needed a solid dose of noodles. Since we were in the area and having read the raving reviews, why the heck not? Friendly chef. Small talked with him about his great reputation and bringing his food to the airport. Funny enough, the guy in front of me was heading to the airport too. These are tasty, freshly cooked to order noodles with lots of veg. Everything has been portioned so consistency seemed to be pretty dependable. I talked with some locals in line and they said it's about a 7-10 minute wait per person. Govern yourself accordingly, especially during lunch time if you only have an hour. Just awful. I saw this stand with an active wok inside and got really excited. I was expecting great food at a great price. Unfortunately, it was neither of those two things. The person manning the booth was very nice, but needs to really question whether he is able to cook Thai food. I ordered the pad se ew since this is what I always get when testing a new Thai place. It started off well and I was getting more and more excited as he was making my dish to order. He even tasted the dish prior to giving it to me to make sure it was up to his standards. Once I opened the styrofoam container and saw the dish, I knew I had guessed incorrectly and it was going to be terrible. First of all, the wok was useless since the noodles themselves were white and soft, with no charred bits or anything to indicate that it was cooked under the intense heat of the wok. The noodles were also drenched in a sauce that was not at all the flavor profile of pad se ew. It tasted of ground black pepper, which, again, is not really used in pad se ew. Come on, why not white pepper powder? For a while, I thought maybe he had heard me incorrectly and had made me the wrong item, but it looked just like the picture of the pad se ew. I was confused because there were sliced bell peppers as well as pieces of broccoli, both things I don't expect in a pad se ew. It's usually a Chinese broccoli. I ate most of it until I got down to where the noodles were just soaking in a soup of sauce. I couldn't handle eating any more of it and threw the rest out. One of the best parts of these sort of stands is, even if it's not good, it's usually affordable. Unfortunately, this place charged me $9 for the pad se ew. This is actually the high end of what I expect to pay for pad se ew at a sit-down Thai restaurant in California. Heck, I've had plenty of excellent pad se ew dishes for around $6-7 and I far prefer them to what I received from Liang's. read more

1 whole hour. This is how long we waited for these drunken noodles from Liang's Thai Food, a food stand in downtown Denver. The stand is big enough to fit only one person in there. Therefore, he can only cook one dish at a time. The line was long and wait was agonizing. The final product was pretty good, but not worth the hour long wait. It was just your standard drunken noodles, nothing extraordinary about it. It was delicious, and had decent heat. I would have gone for Thai hot, but she wouldn't have eaten any. She thought mine was better, but went back to the Pad Thai because of the spiciness. One of them was her sleeping on top of gigantic sushi rolls. Another was her in a gigantic pizza outfit. This is a one cook, one burner, one manned food cart. I time the line wait every time I order lunch or dinner; 5 minutes per person. Worth the wait, EVERY TIME. The Food Cart owner Liang works with her son Jaepop, but not in the cart. She helps prep the food in the morning before the cart arrives each day and her son Jaepop cooks the food until everything is gone. He uses all of her recipes and is a super friendly guy. He told me that he loves to cook, but hates to clean. (I don't blame him.) His food is on point. Large servings, full to-go container per order. I would even go as far to say that one order could easily be shared by two people. I really like the Pad See Ewe. I have ordered the Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodles. Every order is fantastic with a fresh lime wedge and a few large spoonfuls of peanuts. If you ever walk by and there is a short line or no line at all, SCORE! I hate giving low stars, but I'm visiting from out of town and my hometown is filled with food carts and even during any lunch rush downtown it doesnt take as long as it took here. I tried on a monday just before noon and after waiting 20 mins and only 2 people getting their orders filled that I'd never get lunch and get back in the hour I has. I came back on Tuesday around noon, only had 4 people in front of me but waited 40 mins to order and a total of 48 mins to get food. I continued to wait because 2 people in front of me were raiving about how good it was. When I got the food, what I got was definitely not anything like pad se ew that I've ever had before. I asked for mild beef pad se ew. There was enough beef but it was so much pepper that I couldn't taste anything. Furthermore the egg was a patty, Not broken up and it was full of onion which is non standard. To make things worse when I got up to the window there was a sign saying only one order per person, and there was an extra charge for using a card. Lastly, I have as big pet peeve about using styrofoam containers since they are particularly horrid for the environment. read more

Came here because I saw that they had a lot of good reviews on yelp. I ordered the chicken pad thai and it was so bland like extremely bland. The worst pad thai ive ever hard if i'm being honest. I'm from California, where there's a lot of people from different ethnic groups and known for having amazingly delicious food, and this shop would not survive. There was absolutely no taste at all! When I say at all, I mean it tasted like when you stir fry or boil tofu with just a pinch of salt. Sadly I only ate about 5 bites. The owner is super nice and friendly though!! It was pretty cheap compared fo California, and the wait was not worth it at all. I haven't yelped in a while but Liangs deserves it. First, the cook is so likeable -- someone id love to have over to show me how to cook. I want to know his story and what led him to here. Second, if you love pad Thai but are looking to try something new, the drunken noodles are the best I've had. It's amazingly hot (temperature) for how cold it is out. Price is amazing for the amount of food you get. The wait is long (my fingers are cold after waiting and having a hard time writing this haha) but we could all use a moment to pause once in a while. Alright, besides needing to know that this place is legit amazing... you also need to know that amazing takes time. Each entree is prepared in front of you, so if you see a few people in line, realize it's about 7-10min a person unless they're ordering the exact same thing together. We got there right at 11am and got back to our office an hour later. But it's worth it. We got the chicken pad thai-hot with dumplings. YOU MUST ORDER THE DUMPLINGS. They are amazing!! The pad Thai is also very delicious but I ate my dumplings and wish I had more. The Servings are huge so feel free to split an entree or you will have leftovers for at least 1-2 more times... which isn't a bad thing since it's so good!! This spot is a must-have in Denver. It's a little food truck in 16th street mall with the most friendly and hospitable owner! We ordered the pad Thai which he made fresh right in front of us while imitating great conversation. He mentioned that all the sauces are home made by him and his mom and they've been running this business for over 10 years! He adjusted the spice level to our liking and because it wasn't busy he let us try the spice to see if we wanted more! Whoo hoo! This is as good and authentic as you get, someone handcrafting your order right in front of you. Watching the chef pour your morels into the plastic to-go container has got to be one of the most euphoric feelings in the world! Sure it takes about 10 min for each order, and if you double-down, then add another 5 min, and yes if there are 5 people ahead of you, you wait for over an hour but it's SO worth it! The day we trekked here (35 min walk from our B&B, but again I'd do it again in a heartbeat!), he (Liang's son) was out of green curry. Not phased, as this made my decision on what to order a lot easier. They have the staples that you'd find on any Thai menu, pad thai, pad see ew, green and panang curry, as well as fried wontons, egg rolls for appetizers. We ordered the Pad see ew with beef ($9) and Pad Thai with Tofu ($7.50) and some wontons. The noodles were cooked perfectly, slippery on your chopsticks and coated evenly with sauce. There were so many vegetables and meats in our dish, it was a great value for the money. The wontons were hand wrapped, 2 for $1. The cream cheese filling was ever present, and did not dissipate in the frying process. The Son was very nice and clearly a hard-worker, be sure to tip as he has to wear many hats! Talking with the other patrons in line, we learned of their reputation as the go to place for comfort food Thai. Even captains and their crew take a special cab ride here. Believe the hype! Put this place on my to do list for my vacation after reading multiple reviews on different sites. It was cold and rainy so I was tempted to get my Thai fix from some random place on Uber Eats but then I was like no. You have this on your list it's like 4 blocks from your hotel. Suck it up and go. SO glad I did I was lucky enough to not have a line at all. I didn't get his name but from what I understand he's a one man show and he's cool AF.
