I ordered a cheesesteak panini on Saturday, and it was delicious! As you can see in the picture, it was warm, perfectly grilled, and packed with melty cheese. I asked for the chipotle sauce on the side just in case it was too spicy, but it had a nice kick without being overwhelming. I really enjoyed the sandwich! I wanted to get fries with my order since the website menu lists them for $4 as a side, but they informed me that price is only available for dine-in, not takeout. The food? Excellent. The service? Not so excellent. We came here after walking by a few times. This spot used to be La Bottega (and also why I have a review from 2012 still on this page) and was recently converted into a full restaurant with a menu full of delicious Italian food. The setup is a bit odd as they took over the restaurant next door and therefore there are two doors (but only one entrance) with one side being the bar and the other being the restaurant. They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays but because of the split between the two spaces it's difficult to hear the music on the restaurant side. The hostess was able to seat us quickly even with it being packed on a Saturday night. I had heard their old fashioned was good so we started with that and yep, it's delicious...And strong! For an app we tried the octopus salad which was chopped octopus over greens, tomato, and red bell peppers. Very very good. For my entree I tried the red snapper which melts in your mouth. So good! Food and drinks were great! But out waiter disappeared on us after our entrees came out. Not once did he check if everything was good or if we needed anything. Never brought us water. Never brought us a refill on drinks. How did we get water and a refill? Asked a busboy and later on the hostess. Our waiter looked frazzled yet the other waiter was zipping around without issue and was handling the same amount of tables as our waiter. Very, very disappointing. Even when we wanted our check our waiter was nowhere to be found yet again! And the checks are presented to you on a tablet! I will most definitely come back for food, no question. I just need to mentally prepare to wait 45 minutes for a check since service here is not good. read more

Salute seems to have new management as the previous restaurant was La Bottega. I stopped by for lunch and wanted to try them out without the rush. My husband and I shared the Rice Balls and were disappointed that there weren't a lot of beef in them. They were still good but were a little bland since the inside was mostly rice and cheese. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and thought the quality was good. The roasted potatoes were a little cold but I assumed they cooked the potatoes first. The dish was a little dry since the sea bass was almond crusted and they added fried onions on top. I think a light sauce accompaniment would have made it stellar. Service was good. Food was average but had good portion sizes. They accept cash and credit but there is a surcharge for credit. There is a Chase located across from them if you're looking for an ATM. read more

Amazing food and excellent service. I am dairy free so I asked if they could make me a bolognese without the cream or cheese and they said yes without question. It made me feel very comfortable. The food came out quickly. At first, I thought it wouldn't be enough because it didn't look like much but the bowl was deep so I even had enough to take home for leftovers. I REALLY want to give them five stars however there is a gnat problem and it was very annoying. One ended up on my lemon in my drink. They ended up comping the drinks which was kind. We checked this place out last night for the entertainment (which was excellent btw!) and decided to have dinner. Although we enjoyed the ambiance and service we were underwhelmed with what we ordered. We started with the mini-meat ricotta appetizer (good sauce but the meat was dry) and the beet salad per menu description did not come close to my expectation. It was ice cold and did not seem fresh, canned veggies and too much cheese which made it all stick together. I ordered the Chilean sea bass which was so hot in the middle I thought maybe it had just been nuked and was kind of bland. My husband ordered the ribeye which was mediocre at best. I've been here 2 times. We were seated right away. Let's start with the bread it's delicious and toasted. Our party requested bread several times it was that good. The bruschetta they are known for and you can choose several options on one board. I ordered chicken Marsala with roasted vegetables and roasted potatoes. Both the vegetables and potatoes were flavorful and delicious. The Marsala was light and flavorful. I ate the entire plate it so was so good. Portions are generous. My guy had Chicken Francese and he loved it too! It had roasted vegetables and he ordered with no pasta. They had live music and the singer was excellent and had the crowd singing and cheering. There was awhile where we would regularly visit La Bottega but our dining out stopped due to COVID. Tonight, we decided to stop by and what a fabulous meal. La Bottega has opened a whole new section to the restaurant and what a great feel it has. The staff was really wonderful and attentive from the moment we walked in as the host greeted us to the service throughout the meal. We started with the stuffed avocado. Really fresh and delicious. I ordered the pollo tres colores as my main meal and my boyfriend the crusted salmon. Excellent portions, beautiful presentation and most importantly--so delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. We were there for dinner tonight, but they have a new bar area with live music on Saturdays. I'm done. This place ranges from awesome to just bad. I ordered a prosciutto panini twice in the last few months and twice the prosciutto was cut so thick it was like chewing through beef jerky. You cannot cut prosciutto thick. I even asked the nice employee at the register to make sure it wasn't cut thick and she assured me she made a note on the order. So it was either not noted on the order, ignored or the person doing the slicing just wanted to say "go scratch" in the most passive aggressive way possible. Long story short - I'm still chewing it two weeks later. It's too much up and down, and it's too pricey to throw away or not enjoy. Whoever is slicing the cured meats needs to realize that he has all day to be at work and doesn't get penalized by the slice. Or you need some new help. I don't know, I'm sure you'll figure it out. That was my favorite one and I'd go back and order 6 of them to go! We had complimentary thin bread, and balsamic vinegar and olive oil so I basically inhaled that while we waited for apps! Once our 4th person came, we ordered and received our entrees - I went for the prato panini because I was craving a sandwich. I think the size is worth the price, but it wasn't as flavorful as I hoped. I ordered creamy balsamic on the side which really helped with the flavor - so maybe do that with a panini! My sister ordered a massive lasagna which was delicious! The other two people ordered rigatoni? (I'm not too good with pasta names) a la vodka and I didn't have it but they enjoyed it! Tip: use the bread at the table to absorb the vodka sauce if you order it! DELICIOUS They also ordered a tres leches but I opted out, and we were given complimentary bailey shots with our bill! Since Morrisons closed been looking for a place to stop after work. Well we found it with a great happy hour on Saturdays. I love when a place makes happy hour simple. There is a gastronomic piece of heaven in Plainview and it's called Salute. I thought it odd that a restaurant & bar located in a strip mall recommends reservations until I arrived. The place was packed. Every member of the staff greeted us and welcomed us all the way to our table. I decided to order a ribeye steak. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak came with roasted vegetables and an au jus sauce. The whole meal was amazing. Our waiter was top notch as well. The cost wasn't obscene. It was about what you'd expect to pay for a nice meal. I will most definitely be back there. read more

On Saturday evening , June 11th, I ordered 4 paninis from Bruno (over the phone), to be picked up at 11:30am on Sunday June 12th at La Bottega in Plainview. My family & I were to be celebrating my dad's 85th birthday at my son's house that afternoon. The paninis were to be the "main event" to our luncheon celebration, along with sides that sides that I had prepared I picked up the paninis at 11:30am, Sunday, June 12th. My bill was $61 & change, $14.95 per panini. Upon opening our sandwiches approx. 1 hr from pick-up, the 4 of us looked at each other quite surprised/disappointed. Me being very embarrassed as the host to my dad's 85th celebration. The paninis had almost "O" filling content, being about 95% bread only. Each sandwich barely had one slice of cheese, maybe two paper thin slices of tomato, etc, depending on what was supposed to be the content of each varying paninis. I/we have NEVER seen sandwiches so thin & so pricey in our lives! There isn't one reputable deli, diner, restaurant in our area, that would have the audacity to sell an item like this to its customers. I literally had to order a pizza & salads to supplement this totally in adequate order!from La Bottega. I called and Kim answered that afternoon and apologized, promising me a call from Bruno asap during the upcoming week. She also stated, "That's what our paninis are like. There's really not much to them..!?!" When not hearing from Bruno by Thursday of last week, I called again & she said that he's been so busy, & she guarantees a call back to me by Saturday. It is now Sunday, Father's Day, and I still haven't heard from Bruno. This to me, is the epitome of bad customer service, coming from a restauranteur, who initially told me over the phone when I placed the order, that his job "is to make sure that his customers are always happy & satisfied."
