This family owned and operated Honda dealership has been around for decades! I've had my Goldwing serviced here for several years, and have always been happy with the services and fair charges. This place will certainly be my first choice when shopping for a new bike. The service manager, Keith, is always available and quite helpful handling insurance claims and normal maintenance issues. The work gets done in a timely fashion, and has always been completed properly. Plus - Honda Goldwings are the BEST TOURING BIKES IN THE WORLD!!! I give them a 2.5 and I'll tell you why cause I just purchased a full exhaust from TOCE that cost me around two grand the exhaust tip muffler whatever you wanna call it and headers all went in with the Bike for a major service It came back so scratched up that I am debating to get it powder coated or something because it looks like shit I don't know what they did with my exhaust if they took it off the bike and kicked it around the back room for an entire two weeks, but that's what it looks like The service I believe was done fine although they did use different nuts and bolts in certain areas that's OK. I ordered parts for that but the exhaust is very difficult to get over. read more

Unfortunately been going to this dealer for several years now. Never ever did I have an issue. Always recommend them to all my friends and anyone just looking for a bike. Until today was the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Me and a salesman named Dan have been texting back and forth about a bike. Asked questions got the details the pricing and a quote on a trade in. All seemed great had the final walk out the door price. He told me he was going to put the bike on hold and to keep him posted with when I'm expecting to get the bike. (I live two hours away so traveling to the dealer isn't the first option rather do business over the phone) today I get a text message saying someone else put a deposit on the bike. He never asked me for a deposit. He Told me flat out I will put the bike on hold. If he asked for a deposit I gladly would have payed one. So we text back and forth and essentially I am told there's nothing he can do. When I suggested, maybe call the other customer back and state the bike was already on hold for someone else. Mind you I already went to the bank. Got the check. Made plans to bring my trade in down and he was aware of both of these actions but is still going to tell me that there's nothing he can do. And his excuse was because I didn't come down to look at the bike. It's a pretty common Suzuki 1000. Not like I'm examining a rolls Royce. He sent me several pictures. Nothing I need to see in person to "confirm" interest. I feel like me going the bank and cutting a check shows enough interest for me. read more

Libby's Motoworld: After taking a 20 year hiatus from motorcycle riding during the pandemic I decided to get myself a used motorcycle. That bike along with two others are tethered up in my garage. They provide endless me time cleaning and maintaining. I am an electrician by trade who enjoys the job getting the bikes as close to perfect as I can. The latest addition of the three came from Libby's. My 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 GT. I have tacked on close to 10k miles in a little over a year. I love it. Machines are machines and require love and attention. and so it goes. I ride with some good people on occasion and just before a ride to the catskills the Rocket battery started to act up, eventually it needed to be replaced. Keith at libby's was off the day before the ride and logistics prevented me from getting the Rocket to Libby's for the required service. So I broke down and took it elsewhere for the battery and a recall. The bike is back and that was that. So Keith being the thoughtful profesional that he is reached out to me several times concerned, truly concerned about me and the bike. He has informed me about a new recall and spent what must have been a significant time explaining my situation to Triumph. In the end he has convinced them to credit the battery even though it is past the one year warranty. He also set up the new recall job to be takin care of at his shop. By the way I stopped by unannounced one day with a mechanical issue I didn't have a clue about. These guys listened to me listened to the bike and stopped what they were doing to take care of it. My experience with these guys has been dealing with some classy motorcycle enthusiasts who care about their people. read more

This is by far THE BEST polaris dealer I have ever been to! The prices are good. The purchase process was simple and easy cause they know what they are doing... Their service department is hands down the BEST EVER!!! Other dealerships want your machine for a minimum of 3 weeks. I brought my 2022 polaris sportsman to them for a recall. They did the work within one hour! I call their service department with a question about my machine and they walked me through the problem and I was able to fix it myself. Who does that??? I drive an hour and a half for them to fix my machine. With me, They have a customer for life!!! read more

I have heard lots of good things about Libby's over the years. In the past I have had long wait times with other shops and friends told me I should have gone to Libby's. I wish I could say I had a five star experience like others on Yelp. Unfortunately that was not so. While speaking to Kieth over the phone and in the shop, he sounded extremely knowledgeable and confident. I can tell from speaking with him he has spent many hours on many deferent bikes. After purchasing a used bike, it was a no brainer, to bring it here and get new tires, a carb clean and the valves adjusted. He recommended putting a jet kit in the carb since it had a free flow exhaust and stock jetting. He told me the bike would be ready in two weeks and to great surprise it was ready in one. I went to pick up the bike and I saw the new tires had not been put on. When I told him it had the same tires, he explained it was a miscommunication in the shop and had them swapped within a couple hours. I took it as an honest mistake. Upon leaving later that day, I could feel the bike having poor throttle response. It also still would not run with the choke all the way in. I called Kieth and he said to bring the bike back and leave it so he can check it again. In the meantime run the bike and replace it with a higher octane fuel to further clean the fuel system. I could not return until the following week due to work. The higher octane fuel made the bike run worse and the only thing it cleaned was my wallet. After doing some research and talking to other VTX owners, I learned that Libby's has installed a jet kit that is known to have issues with this line of bike. I also did not feel comfortable leaving my bike yet again. I ordered the correct parts and fixed the bike myself. It now runs great with no issues. Looking back on my experience, they were going to let me leave the shop on 10 year old tires with dry rot and an improperly tuned bike. It is a shame that I spent as much money as I did because as an amateur mechanic, I fixed all the issues that I had payed them to fix the first time around. I don't believe that this is how they work on a regular basis because if so they would not be in business. I'm sure they have knowledge and experience but for what ever reason they really dropped the ball on me. I will not be returning for future service especially since this has forced me to learn how to service my own bike. read more

I usually avoid going to large dealerships for service on my older motorcycles. Sometimes the bike is older than the tech who's working on it! Lol! Not Libby's! Libby's doesn't send you away if your motorcycle isn't the latest and greatest. I needed some work done on my 1998 Honda ST 1100 and they stepped right up to the plate and did it. I asked them to change the timing belt on this old machine and they didn't hesitate. Good, reliable service. read more

Absolutely horrific experience. I took my Yamaha R1 in to get the clutch fixed. My initial interaction with the service manager, Keith, was horrible. He insinuated I was a first time rider and that I caused the clutch damage!! Turns out it was just a freak thing and the clutch essentially disintegrated. Keith was so rude and was yelling over the phone. After a few weeks of waiting for the fix, I get my bike back and I drive it off the lot. I noticed that when I returned home (15min drive), oil was leaking everywhere!!! I called Libby's back and turn out the mechanic FORGOT to strap in the O ring. I WAS IN SHOCK!!! I know human error happens, but that really could have hurt my bike. As I drive it back home after that O ring issue is fixed, I decided to pull over cause something felt off. Thank GOD I did cause my bike started to smoke/fire!!! I WAS SO SCARED I COULD HAVE DIED. Libby's picked it back up again and turns out mechanic made another mistake. The oil cable wasn't screwed in all the way and it ultimately scorched against the heat from the tires causing the combustion. Libby's did fix it all the same day and threw in a "free" detail for the bike (wouldn't have needed one if oil didn't leak). But my girlfriend had to leave work early to help me with the bike and make sure I drove home ok. Towards the end, my girlfriend requested to speak to Keith to get a partial refund on the original labor since 2 mistakes occurred and why pay for labor when it wasn't done correctly?? Keith was so rude and said no and and even spoke about her to me when she left the room, saying she was yelling and being a bitch!!! SHE WASNT YELLING OR SWEARING AT ALL, if anything i was lol. I put him in his place and I am NEVER EVER going back to libby's. Keith couldn't even look at my gf in the eye. BEWARE! Go at your own risk with this place. THEY COULD KILL YOU!! I've used Libby's service department several times over the last 10 years or so to swap on new tires. I would always bring them in the wheels and tires to dismount and mount/balance, drop them off, and pick them up the next day. However recently I had to bring my entire bike in for the job and was told that they were a bit behind schedule due to it being so busy. I made a Wednesday appointment and expressed that I needed the bike back by the weekend for a trip, so I dropped it off 2 days ahead of my appointment on a Monday. On Tuesday I got a call that the bike was ready for pickup. Keith Libby was easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and clearly just an all around riding enthusiast. I've had much better experiences here for general maintenance than any dealership I've dealt with. I'll keep going back, and I'll keep recommending. SHADY Service. A few years ago I called about pricing for an oil change on my victory jackpot. I was told a price around $75, fair. I brought my bike and dropped it off after being ignored for a while, was told it would be done the next day. It ended up taking 2 extra days, things happen, but this is where it got fishy. I finally called back and the owner told me the bike was ready, BUT, he wanted to let me know that the rear brake was low so he went and replaced it. I asked what the cost was going to be now total, $289. I never authorized the work, I would never in my life pay someone $215 to do a very simple 5 minute job installing a MAXIMUM $30 part. While I should have had the juevos to tell them to reverse it, I was so annoyed that I just said "fine" and went to pick it up. When I got there, their printer was "broken" and could only print non-legible text (it looks like they ran it through the printer multiple times slightly off each time) and they wouldn't be able to print me a receipt. Fool me once, but I will never in my life return to that place or recommend it to anyone, I'm sure I wasn't the first occurrence, as a few comments down someone had a very similar experience. 04/2020 I have a set of rims with tires that are off the bike. I called to see if I can bring them in so they can swap over some tires for me. I was told $50 per wheel bringing that to $100 just to change over some tires. On top of that they were very rude and short with me. Shady and unethical practices. Do not shop there or service there at all 05/08/2020 Update: I just got a call from the owner at Libby's complaining to me about why i left a negative review. He did NOT call me to help or make the situation any better. Very rude and was talking over me. He asked me a question but would not let me answer. Don't bother calling Keith at Libby's for help if you crash your motorcycle. He is far too busy to help you and after he wanted my adjuster to call him he was far too busy to help him as well. If I could give zero stars I would terrible service department i took my bike there too get a simple jet kit and Air filter install at first then i added oil change after they kept my bike there for almost 3 1/2 weeks i drop it off a week before Labor Day weekend and was promise that ill have it back by Labor Day weekend, that never happen they never call me too tell me that they have too keep it during the weekend i had too call myself and find out was already getttin upset at that point didnt understand why It was taking so long.. moving on to Tuesday the day after labor Day they call me saying my bike was all set to be pick up then they recommended a new stator cause it was fully holding charge luckily i had a new one save in my basement so i drop it off to them hoping I'll have a back that same afternoon i get a call about two hours later saying they are having problems taking off the stator cover they had to drill it and grind it off which ruin the stator cover and they had too send it too the machine shop to get it fix and told me they would give me a discount for the wait long story story another week went by still no bike, finally they call me Sayin it was all set so i go pick up my bike they charge me 1,135.50 for all the work they did and of course NO DISCOUNT was add at that point i was fed up so i grab my bike and started to ride back home as soon as i hop on the freeway immediately I noticed the bike wasn't running right it had no power could barley go over 65 miles an hour it was stuttering so bad I thought the bike was going to turn off it sound like crap, was lie too by the tech that work on my bike sayin it was riding nice and has lot more power he was full of shit sayin that he test drove The bike That was a lie or he not good at his job cus almost immediately I notice the bike wasn't right and that was on first gear for him not to notice that it's pretty pathetic so I get home I called Libbys back and explain to them the whole situation and he told me I will probably need a bigger jet kit installed if they would a test roll the bike they would've saw it wasn't running right and fix the problem before I paid over $1000 for the bike to get it back they said to bring it back and they would look at it and add another jet kit to get at this point i was like NO i am not bringin my bike back there ever again for what so it could sit there for another two week. bottom line i would NEVER EVER bring any kind of of business to them ever again was going too sell it to a private buyer after was all said and done buyer didn't end up wanting to bike anymore because it was terrible work done by Libbys end up trading the in at Harley to get a new bike.. Went here on the search for my first motorcycle. I am 5'2", and 125 pounds. With this alone, it can be discouraging to learn to ride or feel confident on any bike with a decent amount of power. On top of this, being a 19 year old girl gets different reactions from a professional shop than a shop run by backwards hacks. I can't even count how many times I've had sales reps spell things out for me as if I had no clue what was going on, even times where I actually corrected them, but I digress. Point is, I came in an hour before closing, expecting employees to ignore me, clean up, and get ready to close. But they actually spent a ton of time with me and answered all questions I had. I knew what I wanted in a bike, but I had no clue what I could actually fit on or move. Nonetheless they let me try whatever I wanted, regardless of the fact it was clear I was not ready to buy that day. They did not try to push me onto an overly expensive bike. They also did not limit me to used and cheap bikes. All in all, there was no pressure in anything. I went to try on helmets and there was a gentleman by the parts counter who ended up talking to me about anything ranging from cars to what type of material is most ideal for a jacket. It was like talking to any other car or motorcycle enthusiast, they do not care who you are or what you look like, if the passion is the same the connection is instant! I left learning some great tips and advice, also knowing that the people who work at Libby's are legit. They aren't in it for the sale. I may have decided to buy a 1972 CB500, but I do plan on stopping by Libby's for any parts or gear I may need in the future. Support your neighbors; support local business! read more

My first visit- What a find! Took my Goldwing there for some service work. They handled it perfectly- fast and done right the first time. It only took about thirty minutes, but I had an opportunity to browse the store. The place is HUMONGOUS! If you're in the mood to drool, they have a magnificent selection of bikes. But what really blew me away was the great selection of accessories and clothing. Most of the motorcycle dealerships in Connecticut fall into three categories: a) Harley Davidson dealerships that have a massive selection of H-D stuff only, b) Motorsports places that have accessories, but it's all motocross or c) little tiny places that promise to order anything you want. Libby's does Honda and Yamaha proud! Tons of stuff on display, plenty of street apparel and from what I can see, great prices. I asked about a Kuryakyn accessory and the counter guy not only showed me the catalog but offered it to me to take with. I asked him if he could do better on the prices in the book and he immediately said they don't like to turn away any sales. He took $10 off the $100 item I was eyeing. It's not in a great location (New Haven??? What are they doing there???) and a little hard to find but well worth it. read more

This family owned business is great! I purchased a scooter, and riding gear and an seat from this dealer. I've been coming here for at least 4 years on and off. I've not only dealt with the sales department, I have had the opportunity to experience their sales and service departments as well. The entire staff are friendly and very helpful. I personally like this dealership because of their motorcycle and riding gear selections. Their wide variety of motorcycle choices include Triumph, Harley Davidson, Honda and Yamaha just to name a few. They also offer a large selection of pre-owned motorcycles for those to save a few bucks. They even sell jet skies and quads. Occasionally, they have riding events. We were just asking about the sale and he had no idea about what we were talking about. My husband and I went to libbys for a scheduled appointment for our quad. We told him about the year, what was wrong and we were driving over a half an hour to get there. As soon as we got there, the guy told my husband he didn't want to work on it anymore because it would be a waste of time, and cost too much which is exactly what we asked before we made the drive. After being let down by that, we started to think about getting a motorcycle, and as soon as we went in, the same guy threw his hands up in the air and said to my husband "don't shoot." Which was quite bizarre, and uncomfortable bur moving forward we started to glance at the bikes, and about after an hour or so we were looking at a smaller dirt bike, still haven't been helped, and a "regular" walks by laughing at my husband saying "hah, that's a kid's bike". Ummm ok we didn't realize kid's could register vehicles but sure guy whatever u say. Then finally almost an hour and a half later someone Finally comes to assist us, and we decide to buy a Honda CBR 300R and we already had cash in hand, and insurance put on it, and the guy tells us to bring in our insurance card to Ann in the office to the right. So we did as he told us, we walk in and that other initial manager that greeted us with his hands up as if we were there to rob them stood in the doorway with 3 other guys blocking the entrance to get through for like 3 minutes before they finally acknowledged us trying to get through. So never having been there prior, we assumed the only woman sitting in there was Ann. My husband says, "hey Ms. Ann we were told to come in here to see you". I swear if looks could kill, we'd be dead. That woman turned her head and gave my husband the nastiest look, and replies, "I'm not Ann" in the snottiest attitude. Well I says to my husband, this isn't worth it, especially when we're about to drop 7 grand on a brand new bike. Their loss, we'll get it cheaper somewhere else.. Felt extremely racist! read more

I came to Libby's because they were the only ones within my area that I knew carried Honda Ruckus's. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, so I didn't need to hear the whole sales pitch of what it did, how to ride it, etc. I'm no stranger to bikes, I've ridden all my life and have a Gixxer sitting at home. I came in, but couldn't find any sales associates. I went to their "sales" area and found an awesome guy (don't know his name) that was super helpful and was very friendly. He set me up with one of the sales guys and went on his way. My sales guy was nice, but not personable at all. I explained I wanted a ruckus and just wanted to finance it and be on my way. He had me fill out the form, and then we waited. And waited. Then waited some more. We were there a total of almost 3 hours. The whole time, there was really nothing for us to do but stand around and look around. After everything went through, I still couldn't take it home that day (a Saturday) because it needed to be finalized, which was fine. I came back yesterday (Monday) at 5 o clock, and the pickup wasn't even ready. They had no sold sticker on the one that I bought (which kind of upset me because it was bought and I saw other sold stickers on bikes. Yes it's only a ruckus but it's just the principle). And we STILL had to wait longer because the paperwork wasn't finalized still. I'm not an inpatient person at all, and I understand things happen, but they literally had 2 days to do this and all day Monday before I came. I signed all the paperwork, (which in total took almost an hour and a half) and then waited for our friend to come get us with his truck. They gave me literally a 30 second briefing on how everything works, and our salesmen was on his way. Unfortunately, I didn't really get the feeling that every customer matters here. Yes, I was only buying a $2400 "scooter" technically, but I was still spending money. I just didn't get the feeling that my salesmen really cared about me. Also, I saw numerous incidents where one of the service guys had a serous attitude with both his coworkers and employees, which made for an awkward situation as we were just standing around. However, after purchasing from them, you do get a thank you card, $25 coupon for your next service and 10% off for the next two years with them. I'm not sure how their service is because I can't comment on that, but from the sales perspective, I didn't really feel like I mattered to much to them. Some were friendly, and others weren't. I can't say if I would recommend them, but they do have a great stock and as people were buying items, they were being replenished almost right away which is good I suppose. read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Horrendous customer service. I brought my Polaris Scrambler in for its first service and spent $380 on this service. I never questioned one thing on the bill as it was a very detailed list of items that they went through. I brought the quad home and noticed that the steering was squeaking a lot. I didn't know much about why this was happening until a buddy of mine told me it needed to be greased. When I called Libby's to ask about it, they told me to bring it down for them to look at it. After a few hours they called me telling me it was ready to be picked up and they hit me with a $60 bill for the steering to be greased, which is something that should have been done during the first service! I spoke with the service manager, who I later learned is one of the owners, and he basically told me "it is what it is" and said the charge was valid and there was nothing he would do. My advice is to stay far away from this place because they will milk you for anything and find any reason to charge you. $60 for one grease point is OUTRAGEOUS. I will not be back. read more

It would be wise to avoid Libby's for any and all service work. I can't speak to their sales department as I haven't purchased from them, but here is how the service department screwed me over. They made modifications to my machine without asking for my approval or even telling me and then flat out refused to put the original parts back on. Day 1 - I bring my 2008 Yamaha Zuma with 1k miles in with an oil leak (nothing affecting performance - a leak in the connection from the top filler tank). The scooter performed great. Day 2 - They call me to tell me they need to order parts to fix the oil leak and take care of a "safety recall" Day 14ish - after getting the run around for days I come in to pick the scooter up, $170 I drive it out of there and it won't go over 25mph and stalls out at every stop. Next Day(Thursday) - It won't start in the morning for me to bring it in, I call them and they say their truck is broken down (they must do the work themselves) and to give them a call back next Tuesday if I can't bring it down there. I got it down there and dropped it off. Friday - they call and say it's ready - I pick it up Saturday and it drives 10MPH slower, accelerates slower. I talked to Joe the service manager and eventually the owner, pleading for them to just return the scooter to me as it was when I dropped it off, they refused. They said tough luck, it's a Yamaha recall and we don't have a choice. Even if this were true, an honest shop and honest service manager would have told the customer before performing maintenance that if they were to perform any work, as an authorized Yamaha dealer, they would be required to replace the carburetor and make other performance reducing modifications - giving the customer the option to take the bike elsewhere. They didn't do this - they simply did the work without my approval, billed me $130 in labor and ruined my machine - it now maxes out at 35MPH and crawls up hills. Avoid them at all costs - they cost me $170 total, 4 trips to there store, left my machine in worse condition than before they touched and now I'm forced to spend my time writing reviews, filling a BBB report, calling Yamaha and likely taking them to small claims court. read more

The owner off Libby's is the reason I hate the place and try to avoid it . He's the ugly flat faced guy in the $10 sport jacket. he doesn't move his jaw when he talks and he has these little bitty ground down teeth. all that yet he still manages to convince himself of a reason to be arrogant! He is clueless about people skills and salesmanship. the parts guys are pretty nice and helpful, they should have a better boss! read more
