I had a turkey dinner delivered from here in November 2024 that wasn't even good it was thin,dry and not that tasty. Tonight I ordered a package of medium sized home made cookies from my Instacart account that uses Uber Eats and on the site the cookies are shown and described as having cookies with sprinkles,a fruit center and chocolate chip cookies. Well the amount is really small and I only received 2 cookies with a fruit center,no chocolate chip cookies and the rest were tasteless plain cookies with very little sprinkles. When I called Libery Bell Diner and told the young woman this she wasn't that nice and said they don't include chocolate chip cookies in this. read more

This was our very first visit, and while it was extremely busy during the holidays, the staff here were so pleasant and friendly, we are already looking forward to a return visit. We were a large group, 2 tables full, with orders varying from breakfast to dinner...and not one of us was disappointed. Wraps, club sandwiches, chocolate chip pancakes, grilled cheese...everything was made exactly as ordered and served up quickly by their fantastic servers. This is my second time going to the Liberty Bell Diner this summer and both times I really enjoyed my meals. The first time I went for dinner with my sister. She enjoyed the Veal Alicia, and I enjoyed the Senior's Eggplant Parmigiana which came with two sides! I was happy to see they have the "smaller" portions available since we wanted to try the wrapped asparagus, as well. That, by the way, was very tasty, too! Unique, also! We also enjoyed our fresh salads, soups, and basket of different breads. Such a great diner feel, from the food to the atmosphere. Our food today was delicious, as well. We went for breakfast. I had the Liberty Bell omelette, and it was very tasty with all of the different additions to it. The hash browns were nice and crispy, as well. My sister loved her creamed chipped beef and toast. My husband had the sample plate (#6) - he enjoyed the over-easy eggs - he said they were made just right. His scrapple could have been thicker, and the French toast and pancake were ok. He says it's a good way to try things if you've never been there. I will say, you get plenty of food, with leftovers most likely! My grilled chicken wrap was exactly as ordered - no tomatoes! - and the cup of chicken cabbage soup that came with it was surprisingly delicious! chicken broth with hunks of meat and sauteed cabbage. Husband had a huge greek salad and drinks were refilled. We overtipped bc it over fulfilled our expectations! I ordered take out on their preferred app online and was forced to pay a gratuity without the option of declining it since I was getting take out and not dining in. I thought that' was excessive especially since the food was poorly packaged and under par. The sauce was like soup on my spaghetti and the portion size has shrank in size for the high cost of this mediocre food. I spent way too much money for the chicken to be soggy and the sauce be watered down and almost brown in color. I used to like this place but they don't care about the quality of the food, taste, or packaging, so it's not all just thrown in the container. I'm extrnely disappointed and wish I wouldn't have wasted my money. I will not order again. Why ask for a gratuity if your service is gonna suck. This place is perfect. It's a throwback to the old local diner days when the staff new most of the customers by first name. Both the food and the atmosphere are special. Granted, all I had was the creamed chipped beef over hash browns with a side of scrapple but it was exactly what I was hoping for. The atmosphere is a perfect Old School experience while not looking run down or disheveled. Lot's of wood trim, Leather booths and old style counters and what seems like 100 (exaggerated) employees hustling around working hard to keep all the customers happy. She continued to mess up our orders, purposefully swapping our table's soups with another table's, forgetting waters/drink orders, and when asked about maple syrup, utensils, refills and more, she was rude and disrespectful - not even a sorry? Even to the end, when we were waiting for her to collect our bill, she was avoidant and kept us waiting for an extra HALF AN HOUR, came up to us and asked "why are you guys still here" and upon hearing that it was clearly her fault that we were kept there, didn't apologize, just "oh." I don't even understand how this place is still in business. There have been numerous past reviews detailing racism, rudeness, and shitty behavior from servers and owners alike (apparently), and this place is still getting the stars they're getting? Have driven by this place a million times and finally tried it. It was Mother's Day do we had a little wait and well what can u say???? It was amazing. The food was was fresh and cooked well. Our waitress Adam, was delightful. She realized that my hash browns come out the wrong way ( I didn't say anything) ( it was busy) and brought me s whole new set with my cheese and onions on them. Last visit knocked 2 stars off . Got the prime rib and it was terrible. Looked good. The owner come over and then hit me another piece. Still bad. I said it Yo him and he was offended. I've been here quite a few times and enjoyed breakfast here. The few times I've gone it was crowded but we were seated at a pretty good time. I went in with a group of children and the wait staff was very helpful and friendly. The kids made a mess of the tables and the floor as kids do- and the staff was so inviting and friendly that they told me it's okay, kids will be kids and to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made suggestions as to what to order when we were still trying to decide. The pancakes are delicious here and the eggs and sausage. I also like to come here in the summer and enjoy the Philadelphia water ice and ice cream sundaes that they sell. I absolutely love their sirloin steak! It is super tasty and is cooked perfectly. I'm not a big fan of home fries so I didn't eat much of that but it wasn't bad. If you're hungry, their portions are HUGE! It is definitely filling. They have a pretty big parking lots so I wouldn't worry about no parking space. All together in total is about $29ish.
