It was sweeter than the Franklin even though both had jam. The prosciutto was god tier. Really meaty and moist. While I was waiting for my sandwich I noticed 4 other people come in and order the fig pig! The cashier told me that the Franklin is one of the most popular. Service was very friendly and ingredients are fresh & high quality. Inside is small- just a counter to order with the sandwich making station behind it. There's also a small market. Tucked to the side of Human Robot, a low-key, high vibe spot for a cold brew and good chat with a imbibed local, Poe's offers a nice variety of seemingly tantalizing creations that leave your taste buds bracing to bite down on the first bite. Between the chicken cutlet, pork and chopped steak options ( beef or chicken,) there are plenty of inventive names and toppings that sound enticing. But unfortunately, what we were presented with fell short. I was craving something that that was salty and acidic but also meaty and vegetal and so I opted for the "Gabbygool." This came with a thinly fried chx cutlet, fresh mozz, spicy capicola, roasted red bell pepp's, fresh spinach, basil pesto, balsamic glaze and a hefty sprinkle of red pepper flakes. This was just O.K. The seeded Sarcones loaf it came on felt like it was a day old and the chicken cutlet was fried well past doneness. The other ingredients meshed well, but all in all, it was a "meh" and definitely not worth the price when there are places in the area that make salivation-worthy sandos at similar price-points. The other option we ordered was the "Weedman" which came with pulled pork, sliced long hots, pickled carrots, sliced cucumbers, cilantro and a schmear of sriracha mayo. This was better than the former, with the fatty pork helping to add some moisture to the well-aged bread. The toppings, however, felt like after thoughts and the rawness of the heavy handed carrots and too thick cucumbers made this another "meh." Though we ate, we weren't satisfied and so despite the good reviews and chill vibes, I probably won't ever be visiting Poe's joint again unless some shifts happen with the quality and preparation of the goods. All in all, Poe's is a good spot to drop into if you're in the neighborhood, other sandwich joints in the area are closed and you're looking to catch a game or throw back a few cold ones but don't expect your mind to be blown.

Totally delicious. One of the best sandwiches I have a chance to experience. My Absolute favorite is the Tripleta, it's a delicious sandwich that comes with ham, pulled pork and chicken and melting cheese, mayo, ketchup and whatever else you want on it. It's a handful of a sandwich, my own name for it is the Belly Buster. :) If you're hungry and need a satisfying meal try out the Tripleta. Also, I want to note the hours. El Punto hours are great, especially after the clubs at 2am, when almost everything else is close, this place is hopping! read more
