I love this place empanadas for $2 bucks that is heaven for me. I have been here 4 times in the last 3 weeks. I also have asked about a weeks worth of food for meal prepping. I was happy with the price. One meal here is about $12-$14 bucks depending on what meat you get. With appetizers around 2-4 bucks. The service was fast and easy. I called ahead for an 20 empanada order and everything was ready to go in the time that was stated and was amazing. I would say my only issue is the meat portion size is a little small for the amount of rice that is given. No pictures I just never think about it when i buy food or order. Even if I am gonna write a review. Will add next time I order. The place is small but enough tables (5-6) to site about 2 or 3 people at each. read more

I got the steak sandwich with cheese. I'm not exactly sure what else was on my cheesesteak. Between masks, plexiglass, and accents I had no idea what the young woman was asking me so I was nodding my head 'yes' to everything. I really liked the roll. I don't know if you call it a Cuban roll but it's the fat version of a hoagie roll. It was nicely toasted. The meat was okay. I would have liked more meat. A pretty laid back/local joint. You can feel a bit out of place the first time here since everyone seems to know each other and the menu inside out. None of this really matters however since the amazing aroma of the food will overtake all your senses. The menu has pictures as well as English descriptions so it's great for Spanish-illiterates like myself. I opted for the Cuban sandwich since I've never had an authentic one and it's the one people seem to be getting here. I also had a mango juice but the mango was a bit too sweet. The food does take awhile to come out. My Cubano was huge! My cashier asked I I wanted everything on it and I didn't know any better so I said "yes". I wish I had opted for no lettuce as it made the sandwich very American and soggy. Aside from that though, the sandwich was delicious, the three meat had different textures yet combined in a surprisingly harmonious flavor profile. The pork does taste porky though, not by much but you can tell you were eating pork. Overall, it was a cheap and delicious joint, I will be back to try their other items. read more

I have been looking for a place that makes decent Cuban sandwiches, in my proximity. I have gone to so many restaurants and cafes in the area and none of them have come close to an authentic Cubano. My husband said there is a little spot called El Punto in north Philly and they have all types of Latin American sandwiches. So I decided we should go because I really had a craving for a cubano. We arrived it was in the middle of the "rough around edges" part of Philly but Im ok with that..I will go anywhere as long as there will be good food. OH MAN... I am so glad I did go.. It is nothing fancy...so be prepared if you ever decide to go. The menu is has a lot of variety of sandwiches and freshly squeezed juices. So I ordered a Cuban and boy I was not disappointed!! Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday haven't been here in over year but only because I live the suburbs. This place is so damn good. I love pork so I had the Pernil sandwich with everything. El punto has the BEST sandwiches I've ever had in my life. I was born and raised in Philly but just found out about this place about a yr ago. Everytime I go I usually get the tripleta (never fails!). Other times, I've had the medianoche and the pernil. Good as well! They sandwiches run about $3 something, avg $5, and the shrimp ones cost about $8. It is near St Christophers hospital for children and everytime im nearby i always stop there. They tend to take a while making them, so do call ahead to have it ready for pickup. Another plus is that they close realllly late on the weekends. Well don't judge a book by it's cover and hell do take out!! Lol The restaurant has a small eating area if you can't wait to get home to sink your teeth into a delicious toasted warm pork or Cubano sandwich. There is a long wait time after 8:30 pm so come early but they are also open late for those who like late night snacks. I will also mention that parking is limited, if your lucky you will find a spot right in front of the restaurant otherwise you might find parking at the beer distributor next door. Traditional Cubans have tender chunks of fresh roast pork, ham and Swiss with pickles. El Punto's had ham, bacon, charred shards of what I think was roast pork and something that resembled mortadella. Not what I was expecting. A disappointment. read more

Ive been here a handful of times and have always left full and happy. You cannot go worng with anything you order here. My personal favorite is the Tierra y Mar as well as the Tripleta sandwich. A sandwich avergae about $6-$8. If your really hungry I would recommend trying the Morir Sonando shake its a mix of Tang and milkshake and its to die for, their french fries are pretty good as well. They are open all night too , its the perfect place to go after a night out. The seating is limited and so isnt the parking. Firstly, let me start by saying all their sandwiches are fantastic! However, I must say that the best time to eat here is about 2-3:30am BEST DRUNK FOOD ever. Lucky for me they are but a short walk/drive away. In addition to late night food cravings they also are best 'I'm too hungover to cook, but I'm gonna die if I don't eat" hungover snacks. The seating is limited, so people usually aren't there very long and it is usually common for people to take their food to go. The decor is alright kind of reminds me of an out of date diner disguised as a 'hip' place to be. But again very good food and a lot of locals usually get something to go.
