When I was growing up, McDonald's and Burger King had fun play areas. Now they're sterile and lacking that kid energy they once had. So as a parent seeking places where I can take my toddler and enjoy a beer, this checked my boxes. The patio had a large effective fan and there appear to be heaters for the winter. The main attraction the playground was clean and kept my daughter busy the entire time. Excellent burgers and chicken nuggets. Large pieces of bacon in the tater tots. Surprisingly small milk shake. Still, everything was good enough to warrant a 4 star that I rounded up because we need more places like this to take our kids to. read more

My kids love this place! The playground and sitting outside is great. Even on a really hot day, they get the giant fan going on the patio and it helps so much. Their food is not bad either! I went here because I wanted a turkey burger and they were one of the few places near by the had that option. I didn't order fries or anything else and only went through the drive thru. Hat Creek is one of my go-to fast serve restaurants because I have Celiac Disease and all of their sides are gluten-free. I stopped my on the way home to grab some fried pickles to go with their tasty special sauces. Yum! My order was taken immediately. If you ask for bacon on your burger you will get one small half piece, we asked and apparently this is their standard for bacon add, anything more is another additional charge. Never heard of Hat Creek Burger Company until I saw a promotion on Uber Eats, and I'm so glad I discovered this place!! I ordered the Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad & the Keto Burger since they were on special. The salad was very fresh, and the chicken was still crispy even after delivery. The burger was also yummy! Beef was of good quality and cooked well. All burger ingredients were fresh as well. All the packaging seems to be more eco friendly as well. I enjoyed my double cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, and my kid loved playing on the playground. Win-win. I docked stars for my checkout experience. They have a monitor in the front of the cash register where you can enter your phone number for points/rewards. I handed the cashier my card to pay and then started putting my number into the device to see that I had a reward. I told her that I should be getting 15% off. She said, "Oh, the two don't communicate," and then handed me my card and receipt. Huh? What's the point of having a rewards system if 1) you don't encourage customers to enter their number upfront (since the two don't communicate), and 2) you don't honor rewards? That ticked me off. Went just now 11:40 I even made the drive over here. I called to check see if they were open and they were went through the drive-through no answer at all then I parked the car to go inside and as I'm going inside, I see the guy come lock the door and run away to the back. We came around 6 on a Monday night right before my bowling league. The place was empty so I got a little nervous. This is my first time and when I realized that there are sauce options I was so excited. Sauce IS LIFE. Service was courteous. The outside patio is zipped up and they have heaters that keep you toasty warm and snuggly. We got burgers and shareable loaded tots. The ice machine has that good ice and they have Coke Zero. They've found their groove - hooray! We've enjoyed breakfast, both dine-in and drive-thru and both have been speedy, tasty and served with a smile. The breakfast tacos are my favorite and TIP if you order corn tacos they are basically two tacos in one! This is by far our family's favorite dining spot. They've genuinely got something for all of us, our picky eater too! Burger sliders, or full size, depending on appetite, kids meal or a la carte, salads, protein bowls, chicken, veggie and gluten free - oh my! The fries are cooked just right and the meat is juicy without being too greasy. We love the high fenced in play area with covered outside tables (heated in the winter). We feel very confident our kids can play safely in the play area while we eat and they get a bit of energy out before we head home. YES it is pricey for "fast food" but it's comparable to Chick fil A in my opinion. Not inexpensive, definitely a privilege and we'd go more if it was priced more affordably. Finally got to try it for the first time . Dining room inside is small and there are too many chairs in the way of everything . You need to reach out pretty far to use the ketchup dispenser . The outside area looks nice with plenty of seating and a playground area for kids . I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it was really good. The fries were ok but had way too much salt in them. I wasn't going to go out of my way but they just opened a location close by so I might as well try with a few kids with me. We came on Sunday around 5PM and it was packed. It took 30mins to get a table but we had to scout for it, which is not the process I like. It gives me anxiety. The playground was packed with so many kids but they seem to like it. The food took a while to order and also took a while to get. The burgers were small and pricey. Definitely not a place you go to for burger cravings. We came at a good time on Friday because it wasn't too crowded or filled with too many kids (can see the acoustics being horrible on a weekend when it's kid heavy). You walk in, go up to the counter, order, get a buzzer and wait patiently. I went classic and got the single burger, sweet potato fries and a kid sized mint grasshopper shake. All were delicious and hit the spot when I was craving an all American meal. I like that they have a smaller menu and even half priced burgers on Tuesdays starting at 5pm! I was a pretty big fan of this place! They have succeeded in their mission to make a good place for families to eat and relax. They have indoor seating and they have a great outdoor patio and a great playground on which they allow kids of all ages. Usually when you come upon a place like this there's some sort of gimmick involved. Sometimes the food sucks sometimes the atmosphere sucks but they have done a really good job with this one. The burgers are not Gourmet or anything like that but they are pretty decent. If you are old enough to remember the days when Burger King had a charbroiler and you could go there and get a charbroiler taste Burger this place is Burgers will remind you of those. The fries were okay as well. What I did not care for was any of their sauces that they have. I am more of a traditional ketchup and mustard kind of guy. But I'm sure those will be special treats for some people. Just ate breakfast here while up in a area of DFW I'm not typically in. Had a breakfast taco with potatoes, cheese and sausage which was quite tasty and quick too. Good size taco, about the size of two at some places, so $3 for one was about right! Play area looks great and nicely appointed to keep kids busy. Restaurant is built in a way that they should easily be able to keep it clean. My cashier was Emily, whom seemed very nice and answered all my questions. Will have to make a point of trying their burgers when they open in Mansfield soon. Wish they would've opened in Midlothian instead, this concept would do well there and much less completion than Mansfield too. Advertisement in restaurant says they have hotdogs for a limited time. Hat Creek: Where the real motto should be "Fancy Fast Food." I ordered the Classic with tater tots. They weren't crowded, so it took about 4 minutes for my order. On the first bite, I couldn't shake the feeling Ive had this taste before. After a couple of bites, I realized it tasted just like a fancy Wendy's Double Classic with Bacon and Cheese. I'm not saying I dont like it, but it's like they based their model taste off of Wendy's, but slightly better. The tater tots were extra crispy, had some potato taste, but was washed out by the special sauces they offer. None of the sauces were amazing but was a nice break from just having ketchup. This place seems to be a haven for middle class families to let their kids run around in the playplace. They offer serve decent enough food to keep a clientelle without feeling too pase like McDonalds.
