5 star eclectic greasy spoon diner about 5 miles from Cle Elum. This place is like CHEERS where everybody knows your name well except for mine since I'm not local. But Carla made you feel at home in her road side dinner. The basic of everything yet sometimes the basics aka comfort food is all ya need on a hot summer day road. Dining today was the classic cheeseburger & coke. Cheers to the chef for making it just right! A must last stop prior to heading over Blewett Pass.

liberty cafe is a hidden gem along 97. this quaint little spot tucked in the woods hits the spot for a hearty, home cooked breakfast. not exactly healthy but that's all part of what makes it so great. get the chicken fried steak, it's awesome with the sausage gravy. also their hash browns are perfectly crisp! the lady working there was extremely sweet with plenty of coffee refills! thanks for the great experience guys! will definitely be back when in the area:)

We have driven by this place so many times... either it wasn't open, or it just was not a good time to stop. So this trip it worked out and we stopped for a late breakfast. First off the place is a cool, throwback cafe with old memorabilia. No credit cards, cash only. The food was great, large yummy portions, and the menu has a good variety to choose from. All of this would be a 4-5 starts for me normally. However, the service was a negative. There were only a couple other customers in the place and the waitress was very irritated by something. Not welcoming at all. We asked for a very simple substitution on the menu and we were rudely told no substitutions. That is totally fine, but rudeness is not. This could have become a regular stop for us as we drive by pretty frequently.... but I do not think we will stop again.

5 stars all the way. I stopped in after 3 days camping trip and had breakfast! Their portions are amazing the food was fresh and fast and extremely delicious. The staff went above and beyond with their curtious attitude. Very attentive to all the customers regular or new. I will definitely be going back. Even bought a souvenir Tshirt.they even had a community wall of personal mugs for the locals, seems like a real home town hang out.

When you see this building stop!! You need pie in your life.

This is just what we needed. We pulled over for pie. Pie with ice cream and coffee. It was so good. Peach pie and bumble berry both were delish. Buttery flakey crust that just complements the pie filling.

Haven't been here for years but glad I dropped in. Under new management, the small café is clean, well lit and has a good breakfast and lunch menu. I had a bacon cheese omelet with hash browns and toast and will be back!

I've been there almost every year since I was a teenager. It's a must stop on our way to Lake Chelan

I almost exploded on the side of the highway. They were closed, but the honeybucket was open and amazingly clean. You guys were a lifesaver.

Carla has done an amazing makeover of the cafe, including lots of memorabilia from the area's gold rush days.

The owners are so incredibly kind, that they even baked fresh cookies for us on two separate occasions because they'd run out. It's the kind of friendly environment that instantly makes you feel at home and want to give them all your money! I personally didn't love the ube matcha drink, as it was a bit bitter for me, but EVERYTHING else was incredible. The Tokyo fog? Amazing. The ube cookies? Phenomenal. The babe smoothie? I absolutely LOVED it the first time it was PERFECT but the second day it was lighter in color and a bit too sour for my taste. But man that first one was literally something I'll think about forever. We highly recommend the guava pastry, as we have had MANY but this one is definitely something special. The leak and cheese pasty is also amazing. The earl Gray cookie is also sooo nice. Anyway, this place is incredible and the people are magical. Makes me want to visit this small town again and again!!

While every dish is an eating experience, the Early Bird has monthly specials that are as unique as they are wonderful. The only problem: they only exist for that month (although manager Erica tells me they occasionally have made a monthly special a permanent fixture). Come early or late on weekends -- The Early Bird is often difficult to snag a table, especially on Sunday mornings and in the winter when they don't use their outdoor dining area. Also: their adjacent sister eatery, the Night Owl, is a similarly high-quality Korean restaurant.

In this case, the early bird most definitely gets the worm…read more I visited this local cafe after seeing Rufus Du Sol at the Gorge. Unfortunately for me, many other concert goers had the same Sunday morning plan. While The Early Bird is delicious, it's by no means speedy. We originally received a 45-minute wait for takeout, but ended up waiting closer to 75-minutes. My order consisted of the Eggs Benedict bowl with the veggie medley, monkey bread, and a hazelnut iced latte. The perfect cure after a night of debauchery. You can tell they're doing their best to manage crowd control, especially the morning after a popular concert. Something to note is that you must have a table secured before ordering food. They don't let you order and wait to be seated to help lessen the crowding. Pro tip: the city park behind this building is much better spot to wait for your food. There's seating and even private bathrooms - a god-send after a night of camping at the Gorge.
