I called for an appointment and pricing, also to make sure the motorhome (26 footer) would be able to get in and out. Friendly ,intelligent , and honest are the three words I immediately think of when I look back at my experience at Liberty. Mike , the owner, was eager to help me with my oxygen sensor issue even reading through my owners manual to guide me in the right direction . This was such a relief after visiting two or three other shops and only being told it would require a diagnostic check for nearly $200. Mike performed a much less expensive test and even applied the cost toward the smog check price when I returned. Called this place after 2 others were full or could not take care of my smog check. Sitting in the lobby and reading yelp made me a bit nervous but i want you to know that the radio was not to loud. Getting ready to renew the registration on my Ford F-150, I noticed that it needed a smog check. With only a couple of days left to renew, I had to act fast. I grabbed the Yellow Pages and found most smog check places are closed on Saturday. One has a big ad saying "No Appointment Necessary" so I called to find that they DO require appointments on Saturday and they were booked up. Liberty picked up the phone and said I could bring it right in. Sure enough, I drove over, they ran it right onto the dynamometer and while I skimmed the newspaper they did the test. The truck passed with negative perspiration. Er -- no sweat. It was quick and painless and the price came to $63 total including the certificate. Note that when some shops give you a quote on the price, they fail to mention the $8.25 DMV fee for the certificate. The guy running the shop does a professional job, and if you live anywhere around the Cathedral City area, they can do your smog for you. Oh -- they are kind of hidden behind a shop that fronts on Ramon Road (Meineke's, IIRC) so if you are eastbound you may miss them. You can see their sign easily enough, on the south side of Ramon if you are heading west. read more

After trying to get my smog test at another station that was full, I checked online for a nearby station that led me to Liberty smog. They are $30 higher than the going rate. Awesome place to get a smog check! Mike is very professional, efficient and informative! Today I went to get my smog check for my new vehicle. I ended up driving to 3 different places because all the machines were down because of a hack. It was nationwide!! After going to the 2nd place, I called Liberty smog check, they said the same thing. 10- 15 minutes later Mike called me right back saying the machines were up and running.
