We had a great experience at this location in Minocqua recently. We had the BBQ chicken wrap and fries. We also had the corn beef, hash eggs, Benedict, which was an extremely generous person and very tasty. Alyssa M. was very attentive in her service, friendly, and a nice cadence of service. This restaurant tends to be quite busy, so maybe plan not to go at the peak demands of either the breakfast or lunch meal hours. We love Lida's! We've been looking for a new go-to breakfast spot since Coffee Cup Café closed, and Lida's hit the mark. The staff really stood out--friendly, accommodating, and happy to set us up outside even though the patio wasn't open. They even brought water and treats for the dogs, which made us feel extra welcome. The food was just what you'd want from a breakfast place: fresh-squeezed OJ, strong coffee, and generous portions at fair prices. Between us we had biscuits and gravy, the "ultimate" platter, a breakfast sandwich, and the hangover burger--everything was tasty and satisfying. I'll be back to try the special next time (blueberry ricotta waffles). Despite being close to Trig's and Walmart, the space feels cozy and intentional, especially the side patio. We already have a couple of fav breakfast in the area but we are new, moving here 8 weeks ago so there are still a lot to explore. This place was mentioned as someone else's fave so we thought we would try it. My husband ordered the veggie skillet that was ample amounts of veggies over hash browns topped with two eggs over easy and pancake. My husband said there was ample amount of mushrooms and he loved that there was a lot of butter for his pancake, which he loves. He was born in WI after all. He also had a cup of coffee. I ordered the corned beef hash Benedict (CBH Bene) One thing that gets high marks is if the corn beef hash is homemade. That is not the case here. This came with choice of hash browns or cottage fries. Service was friendly and the restaurant was very quiet enough to have a quiet conversation. We both enjoyed our food and feel it is average. Nothing to wow us. Like I said we have our faves so far but we would come back here for a change or meet-up. read more

Lida's is one of the more 'modern' breakfast joints in Oneida county; the inside is pretty big, has a nice bar/counter area, well lit, and clean. The staff has always been very kind each time I've stopped in for breakfast. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice! Today I ordered the Veggie Skillet, no tomato with American fries and added sausage gravy. (If you're not adding sausage gravy to your skillets what are you doing?). I really appreciate breakfast places that offer a different style of potato other than hash browns, and the American fries here were great! I just wish they were a little crispier but I'm sure if I asked they'd do that for me. Another thing I want to note is that they do have turkey sausage (another thing I appreciate when breakfast places have pork alternatives -- and yes I know I had sausage gravy). The portions are ginormous, I felt like each time I was making progress more would appear. I've never left here without a take home box. Lida's is a great spot for a reliable, basic breakfast in a modern and clean setting, it will continue to be in my breakfast spot rotation. read more

If you're in town and want a good breakfast this is the place to stop! The vanilla carpaccio was better than any chain coffee place in town and it's cheap! We decided to visit this little restaurant in Minocqua close to Walmart. The outside is very deceiving but once you walk in, its beautiful Northwoods interior style restaurant gave us a warm welcome. The menu had a lot of choices and it had something for everyone! We ordered the avocado toast, the Reuben omelette, and the avocado Chèvre. We were in need of a new breakfast place after our old go-to closed (still mourning the Coffee Cup Cafe). We typically travel with our dogs and often are in need of outdoor seating that can accommodate them as well. We were very fortunate to find Lida's. A few things make this place special. Top of mind is the service, which was the best I've experienced in the whole Northwoods area in years. The staff was very friendly and was able to accommodate our request to sit outside even though their patio was closed for the season. They were more than gracious, and even brought water bowls for the dogs and offered pup cups to treat them to. Everyone had a great attitude which started things on the right foot. The food itself was good, and the menu offered everything you might want from a breakfast and brunch place. The orange juice was freshly squeezed, and the coffee was hot and strong. We had biscuits and gravy, an ultimate breakfast (which includes all of the staples like eggs, pancakes, bacon, hash browns, etc), a breakfast sandwich, and a hangover burger. Everything was made well, and the prices were unusually reasonable in this day and age (each meal was between $9-$17). Having enjoyed their standard food, I feel like I missed out by not trying the day's special (blueberry ricotta waffles) which almost certainly would have been great. Planning to come back and try more the next time we are in town. It's worth mentioning the location and ambiance, which are also pluses. The location is in town, off the strip but near Trig's and Walmart. This makes it extremely easy and convenient to get to and/or stop at after grocery shopping. You might not think that this location would lend itself to a nice patio, since it mostly surrounded by asphalt parking lot. However, they did a great job of converting a side yard into a patio with decent privacy off the street and away from parking. They've managed to create a distinct space that doesn't feel like an afterthought. Altogether, this gem was a real highlight in the local food scene and a much needed venue for full service breakfast. Can't wait to come back! read more

I have been here a few times, and the food was always okay, nothing stood out. The service was always great! However, when I came in this morning, every part of this experience was just unpleasant. We walked in and were greeted with a dismissive host that didn't greet us, only said "two?" and took us to our table. Our table had one set of silverware left on it, and garbage on the table. Meaning, it was not cleaned after the last guests. We got our drinks quickly (not by our server), and the server took over 30 minutes to greet us after visiting the table next to us a few times. She eventually took our order and then we waited for our food. We waited for almost an hour for our food, since the ticket was somehow pushed back. When we got our food, my breakfast sandwich (SCRAMBLED EGGS, bacon, cheese, english muffin) was clearly made with someone else's omelette that was sent back. There was meat and onion inside, and what seemed like a few utensil marks. It was dry, and clearly reheated to be served to our table. Overall, I was scared to eat it and assume it was served to another customer before being put on my plate. If this is the case, whoever the food protection manager is clearly needs a refresher course on food safety. The only upside to this is that we did not pay for this food. read more

It's not often that I go to a restaurant for breakfast that when I get my order delivered with a warm plate, soft butter and the pancake syrup has been pre-warmed so your cakes don't get cold from cold syrup!!! A nice place for breakfast. Friendly, efficient service, and a nice variety on the menu. The pancakes were light and tasty, the egg dishes just right, and the hash browns were nice and crispy. They serve real maple syrup and the coffee was better than average for restaurant coffee. Portions were generous; I had the veggie skillet with hash browns and pancakes and took half the eggs and hash home. The fruit cup is a nice sized bowl of three kinds of fresh fruit. I went to this restaurant for breakfast strictly because they are currently rated number one in Minocqua. My breakfast omelet was average, nothing out of the ordinary. The place was jam-packed full of people. I ended up sitting at the counter area. My food came out extremely fast, which was fine. The problem- I was disappointed to observe a couple of things regarding food safety. I saw one of the supportive wait staff standing in front of me eating a quesadilla with his hands. That same employee then proceeded to grab some water and coffee and deliver him to a table. Then he went and grabbed three stacks of clear water glasses and carried them over with his fingers inside some of the glasses so they would not topple over. He then took some of those cups and jammed the cups and his hands into the ice bin to fill them up and add water. There was no hand washing throughout all of this. If this isn't enough, then consider one of the three chefs who I could see through the serving window. He was eating something as he was serving the food. There was a bit of cheese stuck to his face, so he grabbed that and put it into his mouth. Then, he proceeded to continue making and serving food. I don't believe this is proper protocol for food safety and sanitation at a restaurant. I won't be back. read more

But my the eggs in my omelette were not seasoned so it doesn't matter what is in it - if there is no salt in eggs it can't be a great omelette. Per my hubby, who ate the hasbrowns - said same. Needed salt. Otherwise with the other breakfast options in town it was better than Eras and very reasonably priced. Stopped in the other day for breakfast. I ordered the Bacado Bene which is a variation of eggs Benedict but instead of Canadian bacon (ham) it had perfectly cooked bacon, avocado slices and thick creamy hollandaise sauce with just the right amount of lemon flavor. Oh yum! I was by myself and after the first bite I said out loud "Oh my God this is good" (didn't mean to). Thinking about it now makes my mouth water. The coffee was good and I usually don't like restaurant coffee but this I did. Hash browns on the side that were cooked perfectly. Browned and crisp on the outside.
