I put off my alteration of my wedding dress until about a week before I got married (bad, I know!) and brought the dress in to Lidia's. I just needed the dress hemmed, and told Lidia about the timeline. She said she could put a rush on it for a fee, which was reasonable, both in the idea and the price. She measured and marked everything, and the dress was ready exactly when she said it would be! It turned out perfect, exactly what I had been hoping for. Altogether, I paid less than $100. Had a wedding booked by end of week and no suit. BIG PROBLEM. Saturday was looking bleak. I went a little bit ago and Lidia's Alterations was closed. I was walking away and a very nice woman looked at me and asked what I was there for? I told her one of the zippers wasn't closing correctly. She stated we don't do backpacks due to my machine not being able to work on them. I said ok and started to walk away, she stopped me and started to check it out! She fiddled for awhile and said there you go it's working! I TRIED TO PAY BUT THIS GRACIOUS LADY would have none of it. This is the second time I've been here and each time...same out of their way customer service that exceeds what could be done AND what was done. I'm hooked, this is an amazing shop. I wanted to work with Lidia because of her many years of experience and seeming confidence to perform the alterations required for my wedding gown in the spring of 2021. After several alterations, my mom, her best friend and I were at one of the final fittings. The dress just did not look right. We left Lidia's and looked at photos of the dress in it's original condition and realized that the shape of the dress had been irrevocably altered. My wedding was 2 weeks away. Frantic, we got a second opinion from another seamstress who confirmed that there was no way to fix what she had done to my gown. My only option was to either wear the dress as is or purchase a new gown. Thanks to the generosity of my mom's best friend and the kind help of the bridal store, I was able to re- buy the same exact gown and get it fitted in just in time for my wedding. I was far too stressed at the time to reach out to Lidia but about 1.5 years later I finally had the courage to do so. She has not replied to my email or messages. I unfortunately would not recommend Lidia to do alterations of significance and lost over $2k because of her work. read more

I'll start by saying that Lidia is such a kind person from my experience, but our experience with her company was exceptionally unfortunate to say the least. We dropped off a couch cushion that needed a new zipper and a sports bra and leggings that both had small seams that came out and needed fixing. This was at the very end of May and we were told that when we returned from a few week trip our items would be ready. I went back to the store the last week in June and there was a sign on the door during normal business hours saying they were closed. My husband returned 2 weeks later and encountered the same thing. I went back early last week, the next time I had time during the business day to stop by, and Lidia told me she had forgotten about my items and would have them ready tomorrow. My husband returned two days later and picked up the bra and leggings, was told that the couch cushion zipper wasn't in yet and she would call us when it was done. When I looked over my items the rip in the seam of the leggings was STILL THERE, and the ripped seam of the sports bra was sewn to the WRONG PLACE. We retrieved our remaining item and will be taking it somewhere hopefully more professional. read more

I needed a dress hemmed and tried Lidia after reading Yelp reviews - I wasn't in a rush for the alteration but Lidia was up front with how long the alteration could take (it's a busy time of the year with proms). I went to pick up my dress this morning and the hem was done really well and I'm pleased with the results. Price was fair as well $30 for a dress alteration is a great value for work in my opinion. If I need future work done on clothing I'll definitely be back. read more

I've had several clothes altered here and figured they're due a good review. Service is friendly. Quality is impeccable. Owner is a skilled seamstress. She's hemmed many of my pants and most recently replaced the zipper on my wife's down coat. It was a difficult project with some risk of loosing the down. Much to my surprise, she returned it a week later in perfect shape. It's seamless. I can't tell the original zipper was removed and replaced. read more

I really like the granddaughter of Lydia she is always very nice. She is really just overwhelmed. She takes in too much work and is not able to keep up with her customers needs. The first couple of times she did a great job but after that she simply didn't have ready what she promised. I came back and forth for my favorite skirt that she was going to fix. I came to pick up my altered skirt 4 times and it wasn't ready. I even called ahead. She finally threw on an elastic waistband that didn't even fit me or the style of the skirt. I will have to take my skirt that she put the elastic waistband I specifically told her not to use somewhere else. They will have to tear out the bad one and put on a new one. Very likable girl but her work is subpar and she will not get it done. I will not be back. ~~Advice, don't take in work you can't finish. If you work on something do it right. read more

Hired her to do minor alterations on my evening dress as well as my daughter's dress. When it was time to pick up our dresses, oh my that's all I can think to myself,considering she charged us over $400 for her service. Like wow ms lidia. Then as we are in her shop (pink house & pink car) She seen I was upset, She then offered to fix my dress and my daughters dress. But I told her we was on a time schedule and that was not available for us to do. The dresses was extremely tight she took too much off the bottom, extremely tight I did not ask and my daughter did not ask for our dresses to be taken in just lifted she did not measure correctly my dress look like I was floating. Very bad job for the price she charged us. She offered like I said to fix The dresses. Then when a customer walks in she said she did not say that! So please beware she's a liar and very bad at what she claims to do for your clothes. read more

Abby did a good job replacing the zipper on my favorite Tahari wool coat in a timely manner! She took the time to order my burgundy zipper online. She was even able to reuse the signature zipper pull that I saved. She hems all of my trousers and tailors all of my evening dresses to fit my curves perfectly without taking in too much. Gone to them twice and everything's been great so far. I'm very particular about how my clothes fit. They altered a suit and a few pairs of jeans. Each one was spot on. Service is quick and friendly. My family is now switching all our tailoring from Cesar's to Lidia's. Hate to have to do this, but I've had a negative experience the last few times I've used this shop. The alterations are carried out well enough, but it's happened one too many times where I've gone to pick up a piece and a) it's not ready on the stated date it would be ready; b) the shop is unexpectedly closed; c) I was handed the wrong item, then told to wait 10 minutes while the right item was completed (in this scenario, I didn't want a rush job, so I delayed it). I'll be looking for a different alteration shop in the future. read more

I went to Lidia to get my wedding dress altered. Lidia did an okay job overall. However, she continued to push the deadline closer to my wedding day that I literally had to pick up my dress the day before the wedding. And guess what? It still wasn't exactly the way it needed to be and my dress arms were still falling off my shoulder which they weren't supposed to do. Nobody probably noticed but me. The worse part is her not meeting her deadline and adding more stress to an already stressful day. By reading other reviews, I would think twice before using her. I have been to Lidia's on three separate occasions and my clothes are never ready when they are supposed to be ready. The first time I went the length of my pant legs did not match! Upon asking why the material for my wedding gown was no longer smooth around the bodice, Lidia advised it was because I had asked her to take the waist in (it was only one size off). I told her I would rather have it the way it was before and to let the material back out. She did, but it still didn't fix the problem. I had to take it to another seamstress to fix (which they did). That woman pointed out that Lidia had put the bustle on crooked and we had to fix that as well. Luckily I found someone willing and able to perform the alterations within a couple of days because we were right up on the deadline for my wedding. It was a super stressful experience. read more

I dropped off a pair of jeans to have a tiny tear repaired on a Monday and she was going to charge $14.50. When I arrived on Friday (after calling on Thursday to make sure they'd be ready) she had not even started them. The same tear had been repaired previously at a different tailor in two days and for $6.50. So I can't rate the quality of her work bc it didn't get done. read more

This shop is very convenient to where I live. So I really wanted to like it and took various items there to be altered or mended. The workmanship was fine, no problem there. But I learned pretty quickly that--whatever date they promise to have an item ready for pickup--you never know when the work will actually be completed. Brought in a few items to be altered; was promised they'd be done the next Tuesday. Came that afternoon, late, and not done. Returned the next day - based on promise they'd be done that day - and they weren't. So returned next week and brought another shirt to be altered. The original items were done (or so I thought). Got home and one item done well, one item fixed (or so i thought) and one item only half done. So had to bring back the half done item (figured out the one item that was not fixed at all didn't need fixed to begin with - zipper issue). Came back to get the two items later the next week, and half fixed item was done. The shirt was supposedly altered but got home and realized it was not touched at all. Owner is very nice; very sweet; means well. She's just too busy. Not worth going back; just took items to another place across town and they did a nice job. I hope this owner gets things going as there's clearly a good person here, just a little too busy. read more
