Cute little spot. Came for my birthday brunch with the family today and had a total of 11 people... It took about 15 minutes to get seating for us which is about normal. We were finally seated and we waited a while before being serviced but it was very busy and all the staff were very friendly so it wasn't a big deal. We began our orders and it got a little complicated but the waitress did what she could to accomadate for 5 picky kiddos. The food seemed to come out pretty quick but all 5 kiddos did not get the eggs that were supposed to come with their meals and the waitress wasn't understanding that all 5 eggs for all 5 kids were missing... ok a little glitch but not a big deal..(and no we were not compensated for them)... the onions rings were delicious and the chocolate chip pancakes were basic and good with the small scoop of butter they put on top. The fries were really good not small and thin like a lot of places have.. My partner got the fair oaks burger and enjoyed it. Overall was not necessarily impressed with the entire experience - may have been more smoothe as just a breakfast date with my partner alone I think but all in all a decent little spot... oh and the chocolate layered cake my family picked out to sing me happy birthday was good but not as silky or soft as i expected. Hubby and I decided to try this place for brunch one weekend. I got an egg scramble with mushrooms/ground meat/other veggies, he got a French dip sandwich. I wasn't a fan of my meal - there were waaaay too many mushrooms (chopped up super small so I couldn't pick them out... and it would have been half the meal gone), and I asked for cheese to be added but it didn't come out to the table with any in/on it. Waitress was kind enough to fix the mistake and bring out some shredded cheese for me to sprinkle on (apparently they usually charge extra for adding a little bit of cheese? Not a fan of that, but she didn't charge me, thankfully). My husband enjoyed his meal just fine and said he would come back. The atmosphere was nice enough, and service was friendly so I think we'll try this place again in the future. I'm just not going to get that scramble again! I've been here twice. The food was great both times. The owner Shawna is super nice and both my aunt and her friend are regulars. I would definitely recommend the place. I had the Domino sandwich and it was delicious! I also like that it comes with a serving of chips and salsa. It was very filling. Not a good day at Lido Cafe today. Food was cold - the cheese on my scrambled eggs was no where near melted and my sweet potato pancakes were cold. The only thing that was hot was the sausage and it was scalding. They took it back to remake it and brought the eggs back out first. There was a big clump of melted cheese on one side of the plate and a big clump of not melted cheese on the other. Gross! 10 minutes later the pancakes can out and they were ok. Very disappointing! The way the waitress handled herself was less than professional and I barely got an apology. At least our coffee cups were kept full- thus the 2 stars. Not sure I'll be back. read more

This is a nice little place. I wish they had half stars I rate it a solid 3.5. Prices are pretty good, Food is decent, everyone there is so nice. They seem to know everyone that walks in. Very friendly, I like that. Food isnt the BEST but its good solid home cooked food. But are you really expecting a 5 star restaurant? For the type it is its great though. Great breakfast spot to mix-it-up. The food was good, they are dog-friendly which was nice to see for our next visit. A little live music in the morning was cool. The only thing I didn't like was getting the coffee cup that had writing on it about old, fat, ladies. I can only hope they didn't actually select it specifically for ME. O.K. so on my way down the Hill I decided to grab some food with my daughter Hope (4yrs). I hit Yelp to find some good eats nearby and Lido came up on my screen. Great reviews, kid friendly and owner in house. That sounded like the blueprint for a good breakfast. The place is very friendly and the owner said hello the minute we walked in the door. We grabbed a booth and ordered within 2 mins of sitting down, I was feeling the love. The coffee came and it was good, a hot cup of dark roasted eye opener. If I stopped here I would give Lido 5 Stars all day long, but things took a turn downward after such a lofty start.The place had only 4 patrons (2 table, family of 3 and a loner) who were already eating and wrapping up their visit. Our order took 35 mins to come out! This was an easy order, Eggs Benny and a Chocolate Chip Pancake. No special instructions or omissions from the menu just plain and simple. I was served steady cups of coffee during our wait, which kept me from asking the Owner what the problem was with our order. After 20 mins another gentlemen came in and ordered and wouldn't ya know it he, got his Burrito about a minute before we got our order, Huh? O.K. now to the food. The Pancake was good. A little on the smallish side but perfect for my 4 yr old. The Benny was very average. The sauce was canned and lacked the zest of fresh. The Ham was good and came off the grill caramelized and hot, but was a little to salty, the muffin, nothing special, the browns and fruit cup (fresh cut) were what you would expect from a Mom & Pop joint. Maybe Lido had a bad morning, heck I've had those on occasion or maybe the cook was on a 20 min break after the breakfast rush...it could happen. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is the Staff was very friendly and attentive. I will be back to try it again, I hope Lido Cafe can deliver and make me a Fan! read more

Lido moved a couple blocks East of their original location...this was my first visit since the move. The new place is great! Have been to Lido's several times but I finally sat down to write this review! Great neighborhood establishment. Just moved to roomier quarters and it is much more open and brighter. The wait staff is always courteous and smiling and the owner is there over seeing that everything is perfect. We have always had great food here! The coffee comes out hot and steaming and your cup is refilled constantly. The veggie omelet is OMG...delicious. Order it with the home baked biscuit. The country potatoes were also super good and I like how the tables are well equipped with jellies, ketchup, bbq sauce and hot sauces! Yum-Yum! Today I ordered a bloody-mary with my breakfast. It was outstanding with just the right amount of spice. Looking around the restaurant, everyone seemed to be having a good time, enjoying their food. We will continue to keep coming back to Lido's. read more

Here now and the food was absolutely delicious. They are very busy. We had a party of 5 and they accommodated us well. I had an omelet and found it great, a couple to many onions, but otherwise very good. Country potatoes were great as well. And the apple chicken sausage yummmm!!! I came here to kill some time while my breaks got changed across the street (my mechanics recommendation) and I'm glad I did! I got the Miss Piggy Omelette with jalapeños added, yuuuuum! Ok so I have to change my previous five star review because I ordered a turkey bacon avacado sandwich which I normally have because it's delicious. However I ate the first half and noticed some Fuzz on the bread, not like mold but more like lint. I thought to myself it could have brushed off from my jacket or something. That was until I looked at the other half of the cut sandwich and saw the whole top covered in lint and hair. I then realised what happened, they dropped the bread and decided to use it anyway... I'm pretty disgusted that they would do this considering they have always been so good to me, but nevertheless it happened. I let the waitress know, and she almost tried to downplay it but saw it pretty blatantly. She did refund my meal although that doesn't change the fact I ate floor bread. read more

5 stars for breakfast. I definitely recommend their eggs Benedict or chicken fried steak. Biscuits are dry so stick with toast unless you like your biscuits stale. But lunch is a huge dissapointment. So 3 stars for the lack of consistency and errors. I had the fair oaks burger last visit, my avocado was brown and stringy and patty over cooked. The fries are pretty good. Today I had the Pappa D. I requested no mayo and it showed up slathered. The waitress, Cindy, insinuated that I never said such a thing rather than apologizing. When I got the burger back they had literally just scraped the glob of mayo off. Bacon was burnt and soggy. Needless to say we will not be back for lunch, but as long as breakfast remains on point we will continue for that. But not with Cindy. read more

On a Sunday for brunch my bf and I decided to try a place new other then our usual brunch spot. As we walked in we were confused at first if we've walked through the right front door (we didn't) but we walked to the front entrance area to be seated. Two waitresses asked if we were dining in and told us to wait, finally an 3rd waitress asked us again and told us to grab a menu and seat ourselves. I don't remember our waitress name but she was pretty nice. She was an older blonde lady. I ordered the strawberry cream-cheese French toast with egg whites while my bf, a creature of habit order his two eggs and bacon with hash-browns. I don't want to be one of those who ask for too much at a restaurant (I've worked as an waitress before) but I realized when an another waitress brought out our food that I got regular scrambled eggs instead of egg whites, when I told the waitress, that brought our food, she rolled her eyes and snatched the plate away with an attitude but on the good side she brought it back quickly with the right order. The strawberry cream cheese french toast sounded interesting but it was a bit of a disappointment, nothing special just made the French toast more sweet. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. Overall experience, it was about 3 stars. It was the customer service that killed it in the beginning and the food is just not that great. read more

We had been to the old location years ago, and while my husband remembered liking the food, all I remembered was tired-looking surroundings (including dusty plastic flowers/vines). We were really glad to see they moved to a nearby location, a little more set back from the street, and it's much nicer! We went for a late breakfast about 11am on a Sunday and it was busy, but we were seated right away and service was friendly and attentive. The food was above-par for breakfasts around here - a good step above the greasy spoons. A nice bonus was the live music from a singer/guitarist doing classic covers - not too loud, very nice background. Scrambled egg, sweet potato pancake and chicken apple sausage were all very good. Only suggestion would be to get rid of the plastic tree and any plastic plants. They takes the cleaner, more modern decor down one notch and become dust bunny holders (not what you want hanging over your table while you eat). Some simple branch/twig arrangements or real plants (that you dust and prune as needed) are much nicer and won't cheapen the look of the place. read more
