This is the only place I take my clothes for tailoring needs to. I've only been here a handful of times but the owners have always been delightful. I brought in a pair of pants last week and they were able to have them done in 2 days. The older gentleman was so nice and accommodating. When I came 2 days later to pick up my pants he remembered my name even. They did an excellent job and did exactly what I needed. And the price was right. The places on Ingram by Garnett and but parking is relatively easy as there's always some right in front too quickly pop in and drop off your clothes. I went to a fancy wedding dress seamstress and she told me there was no way she could fix my wedding dress and I needed to just buy a new one- I had been to East West before for small jobs, so I decided to go and get John's opinion. Not only did he make my dress work- he did a FLAWLESS job! John did my wedding dress, bustle, rehearsal dress, after party outfit, and my lace gloves. He did it all so beautifully and I couldn't have been happier with how everything came out! It was wonderful to work with him and his wife and do my fittings right in PB! If I could leave 0 stars I would my experience was HORRIFIC. I came to get the chest of a dress taken in and the owner commented that I should just get AIR IN MY CHEST for it to fit, which was so unnecessary and uncomfortable. Then when I went to pick the dress up he moved the straps in on the cups instead of where we pinned it when I came in. The dress no longer fits on my shoulders which was not the issue. He told me to come back in 30 minutes and when I returned the following day the dress was not done since he "forgot to take my name down and forgot what day he said it would be ready" Getting body shamed, having my chest size commented on, my dress no longer fitting and it not even being ready was so unprofessional. Save your money and don't trust him with your clothes. read more

John hypes me up everytime I bring in a new dress, not in a creepy way but like a friend. I initially came in to ask about the price of the services he told me about 20-30 dollars. I come in a week later to drop off the dress and he says we have plenty of time, and says come back in 3 days I gave him longer and came back a week later. DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH THE DRESS. This happend again and he said come in on Monday I have a feeling so I decide to call before I waste my time coming in. Just as I thought he said come in later today, again wasn't ready. I have mixed feelings about this company. First and foremost, the customer service is amazing. It's run by an adorable couple that does everything they can to make you comfortable. Overall, not a bad place to get some small work done, but if you have expensive items you don't want to risk getting ruined I would look elsewhere. But the price was fair for near PB, customer service was awesome, and they did a good job with small fixes. I got three dressed tailored here, one needed a new neckline, one needed a slip, and one needed to be taken in on the back. The one taken in on the back was beautifully done and looked amazing. The one with a new neckline had a few stray threads but I could easily cut them off. My issue came with the dress that needed a slip. It was made of a stretchy mesh like material that I knew was going to be difficult to put a slip in, but I was told it was possible and the dress ended up still being see through and more uncomfortable to wear as the slip has holes in it and would ride up barely when I walked. I really loved this dress and I'm hoping with further adjustments by someone else it is salvageable. Be aware that you should call a few hours before coming in to get your items. I picked up the dresses on three different dates, and each time it was not ready and they needed to take another day/time to get it done. My dresses had been there for two weeks and each time I went to get it, it wasn't ready. I had to send my boyfriend each time to go get it since I was prior plans in place. Seriously THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I go in alllll the time for zipper issues, new zippers added to clothes, zippers fixed, etc. and the work is done to perfection. Today I took a project I was working on, where I zipped the zipper right off the track and couldn't get it back on and he just fixed it in 2 seconds AND added stoppers to each end so I wouldn't do it again... and didn't charge me. I live a good distance from here, but work out in PB. I found East West Tailoring on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. Best decision!! I brought both dry cleaning and tailoring I needed done. The back of one of my favorite dresses (fully lined) ripped along the back seam, one of my sports bra straps was coming undone and I needed a hem put in another dress. I was so very pleasantly surprised by the outstanding tailoring!! I could not have wished for more. I could not even see where the tailoring was on all items of clothing. The dry cleaning came out beautifully. All spots were cleaned, including white deodorant marks on a sleeveless dress. John is so professional and extremely friendly. He is a joy to do business with. I will continue to bring all of our dry cleaning and items for tailoring here. John has a customer for life. I have been a supporter of John's since he opened his shop and have to give him 5 stars for always providing cheerful service and coming through for me when I've had special or time sensitive requests for dry cleaning and /or alterations. The pricing is more than fair and the work is good. Note: He's frequently in over his head when it comes to tailoring. He's so nice, but so busy! I know he means well when he gives a timeline for completion, but frequently he's not ready with the item(s) by said date. So be very specific as to the date when you need to have something completed and know, too, that will mean later in the day - so plan accordingly. read more

I had a review all typed up and ready for the world to see... was just waiting to publish it until I got my dress back, too bad that it has been almost a month later that I actually get my dress back! Ugh, words cannot express my frustration with the situation. Let me backtrack for you... A very nice couple owns this small business. From alteration needs to dry cleaning this place can get it done, just not in a timely manner at all! So I bought a dress on sale, a couple sizes too big... should have been an easy task for an alterer to fix, or so I thought... I brought said dress into this shop after reading some reviews on Yelp (way to let me down fellow Yelpers!). The man who does the alterations did his thing. I told him what I wanted done, he had other ideas, and I trusted him, as after all he is the expert in this line of work. Went back to get the dress and surprise surprise!- it needed further work. So I took it back in. Went in on the day I was told it would be ready and was told to come back the next day. They are really a sweet couple so I had no issue with this (I also had to come back anyways to pick up my comforter which was getting dry cleaned- Great job on that by the way). Went back and the dress was STILL TOO BIG!! He re-did the measurements and I was told to come back the following week, which I did. I arrive at the store, ready to finally get my dress and was shocked it had the pins still in it as he "wanted to try it on me before snipping away"... umm hello! So call me so I can come in or better yet wasn't this supposed to be all done on the day he re-did the measurements of the garment on me?! So I am told it will be ready the following Monday. Monday came and went, I had work and could not stop by til Thursday afternoon, thinking it'll clearly be ready since it's days past the date I was told... stupid me. The dress was not ready and I was told, "oh I just getting to it now!" Umm, excuse me?!! I was irate at this point but politely let them know my frustration and disappointment. Went in the next day (Friday) to pick up my dress and yay finally ready. Did I get an apology regarding the situation?! Nope. Nada. Whatever, at least I finally have my dress back and NEVER have to conduct business there again. Moral of the story, if you decide to brave it be sure that you don't need your item by a certain date... Be aware that at times your items may not be finished when they originally say it will- and no call to tell you so before you arrive to the store. An annoying hassle for customers. Not a good way to run a business either. And don't ask for my number if you are not going to use when an item is not ready on time, at least then I'd be a little more understanding as I didn't waste time driving over for no reason! I just am blown away at how awesome East West Tailoring is. My day is honestly made when I go in there and they know my name and say hello. They never need my ticket because they even know exactly what I brought in last time. We end up just talking about Vietnamese food and other news in our lives. Do you want something done on time? Then you better give yourself a week buffer zone here. This is legitimately the progression in which things happened for my Bridesmaid dress they were altering... I came in on a Monday and needed something in 2 weeks, they said they would get it done by that same Thursday! so great.. i thought... I came back on Friday (day after it was supposed to be ready) and not started yet so come back on Saturday they told me. Came in Saturday, then had not done it! and told me to come back Saturday afternoon. Fine came back.. and the dress was cut TOO SHORT. They agreed to fix by Tuesday.. I came back that Tuesday, and it still wasn't done. They told me to come back on Thursday.. called Thursday and they told me to come after 1PM because they hadn't done it yet! Unbelievable. So incredibly unprofessional to not meet deadlines as promised and RUSH on top of that to hastily do the work because they managed their time poorly. 100% I am never coming back here. If you want something done with care, and on time, do not bring it here. read more

Small, local family-owned business! I have been coming here for years since I don't even like to sew on a button! John and his wife are WONDERFUL!! Very kind, fair prices, very accommodating when it comes to turnaround time. I have never had an issue with an item I have dropped off. I have had jeans hemmed and altered at waistline, shirts taken in, etc. They also offer dry-cleaning services for one-stop convenience. Have cash though- I don't think they accept credit cards which is understandable due to merchant service fees. That can be challenging for a small business to afford. Street parking may be available right in front on Ingraham, plus there is a 15 minute spot there, or if not, there is AMPLE parking across the street in the Staples parking lot. Highly recommended.
