I'm not a runner but they were very understanding and took time to talk with me I typically were wear a size 14 but they did not have any in stock. The owners were great and helped me find a pair of size 13 Saucony that fit incredibly well. Back on the ship my IT band and related knee pain resolved within 75% within a day.

Although I made it so close to closing, there was not one moment where I felt rushed. I already had an idea of what I wanted, but they still brought out three other pairs of shoes to try. They asked me questions, were very attentive to my needs, and offered suggestions. Apparently, I had been getting the wrong sized shoes for years. After their help with proper sizing and fitting, the shoes I purchased are the most comfortable walking/running shoes I have ever owned. Im not a runner and I'm a bit out of shape, but I have been taking walks in the shoes and I can feel myself wanting to run because the shoes are so comfortable. Fast forward a week after my purchase I saw my shoes were on sale and saw on the card that they offered price matching. Sheryl ( I believe that is how you spell her name) was a very nice woman that knew what she was talking about! I believe she said she was the owner of the shop. They have been servicing the Clear lake area for about 15 years! So back to the shoe experience. I was able to tell Sheryl my needs , what my problem with my current shoes (average lower tier brand running shoes) and how I keep having or needing sports message or chiropractic adjustment on my lower back. She asked me to take off my shoes , measured my foot (width , height and arch support needed) , asked me to walk up and down the store and she immediately knew what kind of shoe would be best for me. It was so refreshing to know that she knew what I needed out of a shoe! She looked at my old running shoes to verify my step. She went to the back of the store and came back about 5 min later with 3 choices of shoes. She had me try on the first , walk in it and then try the next pair. One by one I would talk about how they felt and in moments she gave me her recommendation. I was really impressed with the owner and the store. You can tell the running gurus come here for a reason. They seemed to have several folks in the store helping people and I paid about $125 for the running shoes. They do have a rewards program so if you buy seven pairs of shoes the 7th one is free. After using the Brooks shoes on my first run it felt immediately different. No longer were my feet killing me getting off the treadmill or my feet and legs feeling just used up and sore the next day. My knees didn't hurt and my lower back felt fine. The cushioning and support on the shoe was what I needed. I can't say enough how happy I am with them. Thank you On the Run!!! I run for health reasons and I'm in no way shape or form a pro runner. Nor did I use to run track or cross section. I'm just an average guy that was looking for a change of the normal "running" shoe. I am skeptical of the foot scan as my friend who is a former employee calls it "all smoke and mirrors." They don't usually have sales on their running shoes, as they only offer a limited selection of the latest, most expensive models. They have a treadmill in store. This location has a small parking lot that is very awkward to turn into and out of on the busy street. I think it's really nice the employees don't make commission, so there isn't pressure to buy shoes on the spot. I tried on seven pairs of shoes and didn't find any of them to be very comfortable. For a store that emphasizes trying on a variety of running shoes, their return policy is not conducive to that. They allow returns within 30 days, but the shoes must be unworn. You don't know if a running shoe feels good until you actually run in them.

I am SO glad I chose this establishment and not some random Academy or sports store. I was met with a staff member that was NOT judgmental that a 200lb girl went in to buy running shoes. This is definitely not the norm. The staff made great selections and went over, in detail, different shoes, how/why they would help me, and despite me needing to try 4 different pairs on, didn't seem annoyed one bit!! They have a reward system as well (every $200 spent you get $25 off in the store).
