Alright, so from the outset, I'll preface that I ordered online to be delivered. I got the spicy shrimp with green beans, which were amazing. Absolutely recommend. Got the curry chicken and shrimp. Thought it was fine. Don't need to order it again. My main issue was that I wanted to order fried rice. I went to the rice and noodle section online and saw "DJ's Fried Rice" I just assumed that was the normal fried rice. It is not. It's SUPER garlicky. That's totally fine, but the restaurant should put a description on it, because I was totally unhappy when I got it and didn't enjoy it. I can't really complain about anything when it comes to the restaurant maybe that the menu is not super big. But I must say myself, and my kids left with the full belly and a three course meal. We started off with the lettuce wraps, and I must say they were hitting delicious. Next, we got the sesame chicken with the white rice and it was so fresh and delicious for me. Last we got the banana eggrolls with ice cream and I must say we did eat that first before we ate anything else and it was so good. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant. As soon as I got in, I was going to buy a couple different staff members and the service was speedy along with the food arrival. I will absolutely be back. read more

The service ruined the experience! My husband and I went there on a Tuesday afternoon to celebrate my birthday. I was so excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately the service was sub par and was a big disappointment. It took 10-15 minutes before our server came over. A table that was seated after us, had their server attend them first. It was not busy at all so there should have been no issue there. We ordered the calamari which was good. For entrees we ordered the Chicken lo mein and Mongolian Beef. The flavor was good, but the dish should have come with rice, per the menu. Our server did not come back to check in on us, so we ate the entrees as is. After finishing the server never came back over, he was sitting in a booth at the far end of the restaurant on his phone. Another server, possibly management passed by and I asked for the check, which she assisted us with. What a disappointment! Will maybe try again another day. Service gets zero stars! read more

I came here to get a lunch special to go. I called in my order and walked from my hotel. I was confused about the location, but they were very nice on the phone so I knew where I was going. The food was ready and bagged when I got there, and they were just as nice when I paid for it. I got the Kung Pao Chicken with hot and sour soup. All of it was really good. It was a lot of chicken, which was great because it was mostly chicken and not mostly vegetables. I couldn't finish it all so I had some for later. Lieu's Asian bistro is awesome, coming from Michigan we have been searching for good Chinese and finally found it here. We ordered the sesame chicken and lieus spicey chicken and it was soooo good. Big portions so you could easily split a dish since they are family style. The restaurant had a lot of customers but we didn't have to wait we walked in and sat down immediately which was great. The restaurant has a darker more intimate feel making it feel more upscale than just Chinese take out. Great place for a nice dinner. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant hands down read more

The fried green beans and spring rolls are must! I could've made a meal out of that alone. My daughter had the sesame chicken and absolutely loved it. I had the orange peel shrimp and will be dreaming of that for awhile. It comes in different spice levels and I'd def try it with a kick next time. Great atmosphere. Nice wine list. Great specialty cocktails. Be mindful that the entrees are large enough to share with a few people. There are a lot of options on the menu, so it took us a while to decide. Ordered chicken egg rolls and cream cheese womtons as starters. Good serving sizes, fresh out the fryer. Took a few bites of my meal at lunch and had to take it to go to deal with something at work. I was on the phone when I left and got about 2 miles down the road and realized I left my to-go box on the table. I immediately called them and drove back up there. Spoke with a manager who called the owner. The owner said that someone must have thrown it away and there was nothing they could do. I asked if they would make me a new one and was again told I that there was nothing they could or would do and they hung up on me. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

This experience reminded me of the old joke.. The food was awful, and such small portions. I had a great takeout place for years but they changed cooks and the food suffered so I thought I would try Lieu's. Years ago I had gone to the original and I thought it was very pricey, but it was excellent food and it turned out the portions were family style. That's what I expected at the new location. Not so... the food was not great except for one dish. Everything else had a weird aftertaste of some glopped on sauce. What didn't have the aftertaste was just bland.. The dishes weren't cheap, and they weren't good.. and the portions are no longer family style. My advice? Stay away... TO THE OWNER.. I ordered dinner from your website at dinner time, not lunch. Very casual restaurant serving asian-american style food. This was my first time here. Our waiter was quick and always made sure we had water. I ordered the crispy honey chicken which was okay. Definitely much sweeter than I expected it to be. I will say the portion was large enough to share and was priced very well for what I got. I'd come back again once in a blue moon but not if I'm craving authentic asian food. It's very similar to Red Bowl in regards to the Asian-American cuisine. read more

We made reservations and had dinner last night at Lieu's and were very, very disappointed!! The service was good, but the food was, simply put, awful! The crab wantons were full of cream cheese and little, if any crab: the shrimp roll was finely diced shrimp and fried to the point of sopping in grease! These items were inedible and were removed from our bill once we spoke to the manager. However, our main course was no better as the Cantonese duck were deep fried pieces of rubber!! On a busy Christmas Eve dinner we had excellent food and very good service. We were seated promptly and our waiter took our appetizer and drink orders. We gave Lieu's a shot because Red Bowl was closed. We were left disappointed for a few reasons: 1. It was $50 for 2 meals after a $4 tip to-go tip. No soup or any extras. 2. The fried rice was an upcharge and then was a sad excuse for fried rice. Just steamed rice with egg mixed in. Water present in the bottom of the dish. 3. If I could leave a zero star review I would. What a disappointment we had dining here. We made a reservation for Christmas Eve to enjoy a night out for dinner as we are moving back to the area and much of our things are still in storage. When we arrived we inquired with our server with questions regarding allergies as my son is allergic to seafood. This means sometimes he isn't able to order certain foods because they may be fried in the same fryer as seafood etc. The waitress was unable to answer any of the questions we had regarding allergies so we told her we weren't upset with her but could we speak to the manager so we would know what was safe to order. We were told the manager was too busy and would not come and speak to us. We then requested again that he speak to us as we wanted to make sure what we ordered was safe. The manager came to the table and was extremely unprofessional. He was very short with us and when I started to mention allergies he said tell your server and began to walk away. He was at our table for less than a minute. I tried to explain to him that we had tried to discuss with the server and she couldn't help us. At this point we decided that there was no interest on the restaurants part in helping us make sure we were ordering a meal that was safe for my son and did not feel comfortable having him eat something there without knowing if it was safe so we paid for our drinks and left. Having a child with allergies these questions are common questions we ask in any restaurant and we have never been to a restaurant that was so unwilling to answer these simple questions. We were not asking them to prepare something a different way or special accommodations just what dishes were allergy safe. We have dined at this restaurant in the past many years ago before moving out of state and enjoyed the food before having a child with allergies. Unfortunately after the way we were treated we will not be returning. We will also be sharing our experience with others as it was extremely unprofessional. This place used to be one of our favorite lunch place. Today five of us had lunch there and the service was just ok, minimum at best but nothing really bad with the service. The bad was the food. Four salads were ordered and all four were not eaten because the lettuce was slimy. The spring rolls were mushing in the center and I had to send them back but I was still charged for them. The main dishes were ok but lacked the freshness and flavors the we are used too at Lieu's. Not sure what's going on there but we all decided to scratch it from our lunch rotation. This is sad as we have eaten at lieu's (both locations) for years but now we will not return, at least we will not go back to the Pelham location. Very bad food, not good. Sad!! Messed up our order (even after the high school kid taking my order repeated it correctly) by serving us pork instead of shrimp. Called them to ask how they'd make it right. They wanted us to drive all the way back (30m one way) to pick up the new order. Asked if it was possible to get a credit for that dish for the next time we come in. Kid said owner would not allow it. Told them that we have a long history of ordering the same dishes and we weren't trying to pull a fast one on them. Kid was just flustered and no help. When I started to get frustrated he just hung up! RIDICULOUS! Will be taking our business elsewhere from this point forward. EDIT: 6:30 PM 1/23/2022 Just got a call from the owner of this location, David (has a southern accent). Rather than being apologetic for their mistake, he accused me of trying to take advantage of them and get a free meal. I told him that we have a history of ordering the exact same thing (we NEVER ONCE ordered pork in any order) but he kept accusing me of ordering pork. The phone was on speaker phone when I ordered and multiple people heard me order shrimp, and heard the kid taking the order repeat shrimp. Kid that took our order must be related to David in someway because he got so offended and butt hurt over this review and basically told us we were banned from coming back. LOL Rather than being apologetic to loyal customers he was throwing baseless accusations and let his temper get the best of him. I would've been more than happy to change the original review to 5 stars if he made things right, but now I will make sure to tell everyone I know in Greenville to avoid the location on Pelham. What a joke. Take your business to the Lieu's on Woodruff road which is not affiliated with this one, and has much better customer service (as well as experience because it is the Original location). read more

I was a little surprised that it didn't come with at least a little broccoli or some veggie but I was really happy that it didn't come out mostly vegetables and no meat. Received the absolute worst service I have ever gotten at a restaurant. I placed an order online completely unaware that there were two locations. As soon as I realized my mistake I called to ask to cancel the order, to which they refused. I said fine, I will drive up and pick it up and hung up. The hostess proceeded to call me back to tell me off. Once I arrived and asked for my order the hostess was extremely rude and snarky. After I signed the charge slip she just stood there with a smirk on her face. I had made it apparent that I was in a hurry because my father was in the hospital dying and the order was for my mother. She proceeded to stand there while my order was directly behind her. I finally said "Can I have my order you little bitch". She finally handed my order and then chased me outside. Unlike most places, you didn't have to ask for anything. I didn't get his name, unfortunately, but he has been there a long time, he said. I will be back and hopefully get him as a waiter again. Went here on a Monday night in which they close at 9:30pm. We ordered pan fried pork dumplings as an appetizer and it was very good. I loved the sauce that it comes dressed in. I ordered Spicy Basil with shrimp and I loved it. It was a perfect blend of spices and the basil flavored was on point. My girl ordered the Spicy Seafood Noodle soup and it was pretty good. It was spicy but not overly spicy where you couldn't enjoy the food. It was a pretty big bowl so there is a lot of food. We both couldn't finish our main dishes and I couldn't even help eat hers and I'm a major foodie. We also ordered two cocktails: bubbles and berries and the strawberry mango. Both were very tasty. I would totally recommend this restaurant especially since they changed locations and the menu looks a bit different than the old Lieu's, in a good way. The food was great. I was in Greenville on business and happened upon Lieu's. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm very picky about my hot and sour soup and this is one of the better ones I've had. And the flavoring was spot on. Crunchy wontons for the soup were fresh. They were not greasy and extremely crisp. I ordered the lunch portion of the Spicy Basil Chicken. It was phenomenal. It definitely had a bite, but it was not so hot that you couldn't enjoy it. I also asked for some hot mustard to go with my meals. I was brought some in a little cup; not the standard packet, so I assumed it was homemade. When I asked the server, he said yes and biy was it good. The entire experience, the meal the beer and the interaction with the server made my day much brighter. I would drive the three hours back again to eat here. I've eaten here 3 times when I've visited family in the upstate. This review will entail my latest visit. We stopped in around 7pm on Saturday 04/03. The crab wontons are very delicious. Both of the dipping sauces are good. I identified one as gochujang red chili paste, which is a delicious Korean dipping sauce and marinade I use when cooking at home. The other was a Thai chili sauce. We also ordered spicy barbecue pork. Several pieces were charred black and were dry. The pieces that weren't charred black tasted ok. I think it was marinated in gochujang. Gochujang was also included as a dipping sauce. Maybe the dish is supposed to be "blackened". I didn't complain to our server or anything. I just made a mental note to not order it again. My girlfriend ordered sesame chicken and it was delicious as always. I ordered curry shrimp. The first bite tasted of burned wok, but subsequent bites improved. Several veggies were burnt. However, the shrimp was good and of high quality. The curry sauce tasted pretty good. I cleaned my plate. In spite of a couple of burned veggies, the shrimp and sauce were both delicious. In the past I ordered spicy shredded pork and it was absolutely delicious.
