we recently hired life deck to redo the concrete coating on our concrete deck surrounding our swimming pool. Our project manager was Jeff, who made the whole process very easy. He came to our house 3 times with samples to go over with me and my wife which really helped. He was very informative with ideas which really helped us make a decision. They demoed they old pebble coating that was on the deck and created a beautiful stone pattern that brought our backyard to life. Even when we had some areas we asked them to touch up, they came right back out and took care of it and would not be satisfied until we were happy. The floors look great, BUT they made a huge mess, and ruined the ceramic tile in an adjcent room. I have contacted them multiple times about it, they asked for photos, which I sent. They say they'll get back to me. They don't. There is a clear line where they had plastic down to protect part of the floor, where the plastic ended there is overspray on the tiles. I've tried everything to clean it, nothing works. I'll have to replace the tiles. Usually "you get what you pay for" rings true with home remodeling. Not with this company. They are very expensive, 6k for 3 bedrooms, so I expected them to be meticulous. There were other unprofessional things that happened, but I can look past those issues. The ruined floor is what prompted me to leave this review. Go elsewhere. read more

I'm on the Board of a North County homeowner's association. We solicited three bids and awarded the job to Life Deck to refurbish a large portion of our common area pool deck. They did excellent work and blended the new surface with the old surface perfectly. The job foreman was meticulous and even went so far so spot repair quite a few other small spots that were not even in the contract at no additional charge. Their workman were friendly and they completed the job within their projected time frame. Scott Tischler was our project manager and I really appreciated his timely communication both over the phone and by email. Their on-site foreman Gordo was also a pleasure to work with. We needed to redo our back and front patios. The back is fairly large and surrounds are pool. The front is smaller and includes our walkway to the street. We interviewed at least 6 companies for the job over a period of 6 months. We did our due diligence. When we met Ernie, our product manager, he was so knowledgeable and honest about what they could do. We knew we had found a solid company. He was very professional and just that kind of guy that you know is a straight shooter. Prices were comparable with the other quotes we got and they only asked for a small deposit to get started. We paid a second deposit once they were over half done and the remainder upon final inspection. Now, perhaps the best part was the two gentlemen doing the work. Cliff and Juan are great guys, work very hard and they know their stuff. Its like an art form to them and they take pride in getting the little things right. Plus, they were at the job early everyday until they finished it. They even found areas of our patio that were overlayed previously and done poorly. They tore it out and they repaired that section. Didn't even add that to the price! We were so happy with the way it turned out as well. Looks fantastic! If you look at my profile, you can see i don't write a lot of reviews. I used LifeDeck to resurface a deck upstairs facing South. That was 2 rears ago. The sun can be very damaging on that side of the house. The work they did was fantastic. Liked it so well I had them do the upstairs deck facing the North side. Incredible job. Just finished having them do all the concrete in my back yard patio area, side walkway, driveway, and porch plus walkway to the front door. Really a great team to work with. Really really happy with our patio floor. We built a large "California room" in our back yard. We had several pieces of existing concrete that was poured at different times. It looked pretty bad! Scott came out and explained our options. It is a pretty large area with a new outdoor kitchen and fire pit. It took about 6 days. Life Deck is a great company to do business with. We previously had artificial turf around our pool (over an existing concrete slab). That area was in direct sunlight almost all day. The turf would get so hot that is was unbearable to walk on. After contacting several concrete coating companies, we settled on Life Deck. While they weren't the cheapest, the project manager, Scott, was definitely the most knowledgeable about the product we wanted ( Westcoat solar reflective coating). He took his time explaining each step of the project to be done, and the reason for each step. Scott was great with communication during the project, and his lead man on the project, Brad, was fantastic. Brad was so meticulous with each step, it was a breath of fresh air to see somebody take such pride in the job they do. I actually stepped on a portion of the sealer a little too soon , causing a large smear. I contacted Scott to ask how to clean it up. Scott and Brad both came out and fixed my screw up. Now that is great service. And, in the end, our new decking not only looks great, but in 100 degree temperature, direct sunlight, we can stand and on it barefoot without burning my feet. I had these guys do my interior ground floor that continuous floods. I'm tired of having the floor replaced so I thought stained concrete would be a good way to go. I was right! My floors look incredible and the guys were professional when they were here. They always asked my opinion on their progress and made sure I loved the color of the floor when they were ready to epoxy it. Rachel and Natalie were even understanding when I had to wait for a new credit card to pay them since mine was stolen. The guys that did the work were super knowledgeable and showed up on time every day. They kept my wife and I "in the loop" on what was to be done each day. I am pickier than most, as I am a mid/high end kitchen and bath remodeling contractor and expect projects on my home to be completed similar to how I run them my own. I hired Life Deck to waterproof the balcony that was leaking into a unit below. I was given an estimate, paid the deposit and work began. Things seemed to be going okay, and when worked stopped during rain I noticed that the balcony was sloped improperly and water ran away from the drain. I contacted my project manager and said that I noticed that water was pooling and asked if it would be fixed to drain. He responded "That's the plan." When work began after Christmas I received a phone call that the job would require 700 more dollars to properly drain (original estimate was 1600). When I called him later that day he had claimed that since he had not heard from me he proceeded with just waterproofing and not leveling the patio. Even though I was unhappy, when the work was finished I contacted my project manager and asked how and when I should pay and never got an answer. The company called and asked for payment over a month later. I told them that I would send in a payment when I received a copy of the bill. The bill arrived on Monday, and on Tuesday I called and asked to place part of my bill on a credit card and told them that I would send in a check for the rest. On Thursday I received a letter thanking me for my partial payment but threatening to put a lien on the house if it the full balance was not paid within a week since work was completed on the 18th of December (when in reality it was completed after Christmas. Two days later I received a letter for proof that a lien would be lifted when my check cleared. read more

I just had the whole area cleaned by them with a high pressure hose and resealed with the slip resistant sealer to give it the newly finished look. Their salesman, Gil, was prompt for all appointments, provided us with custom samples and offered us a very reasonable bid. He remained in contact with us throughout the work and responded to our concern over a small problem with the initial coat. To our surprise, Life Deck solved the problem without question and sent Benny and his crew who not only did a superb job of re-coating, but went over and above by repairing cracks that were developing as a result of shoddy workmanship from our general contractor's laborer. These guys are awesome! We got several quotes to refinish the concrete on our pool deck. They were by far the most professional, responsive, and knowledgable about concrete coatings, and they gave us a good price! We had some existing textured concrete and some non-textured concrete, as well as damaged coping tiles. They coated all the non-textured concrete with a new knock-down texture, colored the entire pool deck, and repaired our coping tiles. The guys were meticulous with masking things off and making sure our fencing, landscape and house were not affected by the work. read more
