Found Dr. Nick through a living social type of special. Went in for a massage and adjustment and found him to be very nice and personable - AND got a great adjustment! Fast forward a couple of years and I threw out my back. Like I can't stand up threw it out. Called him and he got me right in. Un-threw my back in just a couple of visits. I have 2 favorite Chiropractors in the South Bay and Dr. Nick is one of those 2. He is one of the most gentle chiropractors I've experienced...but gets the job done! Also, Dr. Nick truly seems to be in this job for the sake of his clients - more so than just the $. He's keenly aware of the issues of our day (rising insurance costs, less jobs, etc.) and his fees reflect this (especially if you are paying out of pocket and not through insurance). I also love his massage therapists. The "only" reason I didn't give Dr. Nick 5 stars is that I do wish his office were full-service (with x-ray technology, etc.). I found Dr. Nick (as he calls himself) through a coupon special, $29 for exam, correction and one hour massage. Dr. Nick has a small room inside a fitness center and he shares his office phone with the fitness front desk. When I called, Dr. Nick picked up the phone and said he was unfamiliar with the terms of the coupon offer. I explained I wanted the exam, a correction treatment and the massage as stated in the coupon. He gave me a 5 pm appt. He called the same day to confirm the appointment. On the phone, he said he did not want to do the correction as he said that was not part of the ad. I said I needed the correction for my shoulder bursitis and that was more important to me than the massage. When I arrived @ 4:30, I entered through the fitness center and the door to his office was open and he was doing adjustments to a client with the door open and no privacy for the patient. He invited me into the room with the patient on the table and gave me paperwork to fill out. I saw him early @ about 4:50. He did the correction, but was very sure to let me know I needed a series of corrections for an indefinite period of time. He said I could not have the one hour massage as that time was booked in advance with another patient. He wanted me to make a second trip back for the massage. I said no thank you. I did not like the fact that I kept getting different stories from Dr. Nick. First, all I could get was the massage, and that is what he booked me for. Then when I showed up, the time slot he gave me for a massage was filled with a patient. In addition, he was reluctant to give me a receipt for the $29 as he said this was a special offer. read more

I've been attending Dr. Nick's practice for about 4 months or so. I have chronic back pain due to a car accident and even though I've controlled it with exercise I happen to be pregnant so I've been having pain again and been needing chiropractic care. Dr. Nick is pretty relaxed and easy to talk to. He has not pushed for any of those long term plans that cost a lot (which other chiropractors recommended but were not needed) or for a frequency of treatments I might need. He has made his recommendations for a healthier lifestyle (exercise, diet, stretching, etc) but has respected the frequency I have been scheduling my treatments. My condition cannot be cured but can be treated to calm the pain and he didn't use this to drag me into a plan or something. He is been ethical. I feel he has supported me. He has changed positions as I keep getting bigger but still knows how to treat me. Besides the alignments I tried the massages of his partner Veronika. She is knowledgable and has great hands. Her personality matches Dr. Nick's (relaxed, not pushy). I feel so good after an alignment and massage. A little plus is that they are located so close to the beach that it is nice to just take a walk around their office. In terms of pricing I think they are reasonable. I use my FSA to pay for the services so that makes it a bit easier especially because I didn't anticipate needing chiropractic care with my pregnancy. I live about 20 miles from the office but I gladly take the drive. I can only wish I lived closer and had the time/money to be able to get their care more often! I have been treated by Dr. Weingartner for a long time and before I first started getting treated by him, i was having headaches quite often from many reasons. Some reasons were that I was just dehydrated and forget to drink water, from surfing (my middle back or thoracic was always tense), and just from studying and eating habits were not the greatest. But the level of input Dr. W gives is excellent and he has a good ground to some health tips he gives. At one point i haven't had a headache in probably a year and when I slowed down going to see him, i would be a lot more tense, mainly from surfing and also the lack of stretching. I was also working on my posture and his insight was helpful in little tips of what to do to help that in addition to getting treated. He is a matter of fact and that is helpful to someone who might not be sure about why they are having movability problems. I would recommend seeing nick over many other chiros because some are just about production and don't take the time to understand the person and their needs but he really does take the time to really treat people properly. read more
