I'm very squeamish when it comes to the dentist but I was experiencing a tooth ache that forced me to make an appointment. I found Dr. Nguyen on Yelp and i'm so glad I did because I've had nothing but positive experiences with Lifeworks. They were able to schedule me an appointment fairly quickly and the office staff is great. Dr. Nguyen really took the time to answer all of my questions and I love the treatment plan that they offer. Lifeworks did such an amazing job with my husband's teeth, I brought all 3 kids in for their 6-month exam, the staff was so friendly and patient with our entire family, I felt very comfortable with the whole experience! I could certainly tell Dr. Tran finds the most appropriate treatment for each patient, and he didn't recommend anything that was not necessary. Dr Tran makes sure you are educated on your teeth and any problems and offers solutions. He also doesn't have you in the office ALL DAY he gets you in and out !!! Friday afternoon. Crown came off my daughter's back tooth and her dentist's office closed at noon. Tried other dentists recommended by friends, but they were either closed on Friday or closed at noon as well. Went online to find a "drop in" dentist and found Lifeworks Dental on Blalock. Called, got courteous receptionist, said come on in. She was seen right away. Friendly office with attentive dentist. Was taken care of in less than 30 minutes. A great, surprisingly uneventful emergency trip - to the dentist! Highly recommended. Would definitely return. read more

I came back in for a recheck, and the doctor was thorough and supportive. I tried to be more clear with my questions and concerns and she was very communicative in response. Their receptionist helped to get me a referral to a specialist, and best of all -- they had tried a treatment, but it hadn't worked -- so they credited it back to my account for the future! Went for a checkup, cleaning, and likely more (not enough dentist visits over the years). I've been back a few times as I was overdue for quite a bit. From the preliminary to the followup, the staff is helpful, friendly, and patient. Dr. Tran and Angelica took the time to explain what was being done and how I can best care for my teeth (and gums) going forward. I was a patient of this practice about 2 years ago. The office seemed new and the dentists are a nice, young couple who take their time with their patients. I would recommend them if you just need a cleaning. If you need anything beyond that, their lack of experience begins to show. They repeatedly took a very long time to get work done (well over an hour in more than one instance - so long that during one visit the novocaine was wearing wearing off and had to be readministered - fun!). They also improperly fitted a crown, leaving a large space between it and the neighboring tooth (space wasn't there before) - when I identified this as an issue, Dr. Tran wanted to refer me to an orthodontist so that my other tooth could be moved to fix the problem -- seriously?! I have since moved and my new dentist was appalled when they noticed the large space and I mentioned the orthodontist referral. I have had major problems with that tooth since then. I could go on but I think I've gotten my point across. Reply - Dr. Tran, I missed your response and only just saw it today. My recollection is that you did not recommend replacing the crown and instead recommended an orthodontist referral. Why would anyone would choose to have other teeth moved when given the option to swap out the crown? Doesn't make sense. I'm not sure how you failed to notice the space next to the crown before cementing it in my mouth. I had to point it out to you on a follow-up visit. I appreciate your offer to fix the issue but I've already gone through an expensive time consuming process with another dentist to fix the problem because I was not happy with the original results and did not feel comfortable returning to your office for future dental work. read more

First time here through yelp 5 STAR rating! I can see why. Everything was very serene and pleasant. I have anxiety when going to the dentist. After skipping dentist visits for years, I decided to give it another try. 8 years ago was my last dentist visit in California with a horrible mishap that scarred me for life. I am very glad that I did. Even with discipline brushing, flossing and white stripes.. it wasn't enough. I now appreciate the value of routine office visits for cleaning. I had a high tolerance for anesthetic and Dr Tran is very accommodating. There are no surprises. Anything that will cost you out-of-pocket they will ask for your permission and explain it to you before performing it. I have enjoyed my visit. They even recommended and scheduled a referral to another oral surgeon for my 4 wisdom tooth extraction and emailed them the x-ray so I don't have to get charge for that again. Excellent customer service. Great job staff, keep up the good work. I will keep coming here definitely. If you find my review helpful, let them know about me. So I choose Dr. Tran of LifeWorks Dental for 2 reasons: 1) He takes my insurance - Cigna Dental and 2) based on the previous Yelp.com reviews of his gentle treatment. I have super sensitive gums and Dr. Tran was indeed very gentle with everything he did. It's so hard to find a great dentist that really cares about your problems but Dr. Tran is very in tune with his patients and I for one am very grateful for that. He took the time to numb my gums to minimize the pain. Now, let's talk about his office environment....Wow! Talk about VIP treatment: First the office is super clean and high tech; The dental hygienists are super nice and accommodating; I was asked what music I wanted to listen to and I choose Argentinian Tango and that is exactly what was played for me and it was very soothing. The front staff, Angelica and Carmen, are very nice, very helpful and on top of their game. I knew exactly what my insurance covered and what I would pay out of pocket before anything was done to my teeth. I love the very clear and direct communication. Shouldn't life always be that easy? I'm very grateful and happy that I found such a nice and experienced dentist. Today was a great day! read more

LOVE this office! They are so friendly and accommodating but most importantly, they know what they are doing when it comes to your teeth. They won't try and sell you something that you don't need. We've been coming here for about a year and a half now. We moved further away a few months back, and considered changing dentists to someplace closer to our house but decided that we preferred to drive a little extra to come here. Totally worth it!! Highly recommend this place. Office is high tech and well kept. An educational video was presented in the exam chair prior to the exam which was a nice. I came in initially for a routine cleaning. Dr. Tran eventually found 3 cavities. He was informative before, during and after the exam. The different types of imaging was awesome and something I've never had at any of my other exams elsewhere. Exam was as pain free and as smooth as a dentists visit could be:) Highly recommend and will be coming back with my family. read more
