I had just started a new job and recently passed the probationary period to be qualified for benefits. I thought it would be difficult and scary to switch over to a new dentist, but I needed to have my semi-annual cleaning/check up. So after I chose a few that were in my area, I started searching for reviews online. I wanted to be very careful because dental hygiene is so often overlooked, and you could easily get overcharged an arm and a leg for unnecessary work. Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen's office came up with the highest remarks and ratings on professionalism and quality, and I can see why. Their staff is very courteous, personable, and quick to attend to me as I filled out their new patient paperwork prior to the check-up. Their office is very clean, neat, organized, they have up-to date instruments and tools. It's not as cold feeling as other medical offices tend to be. And Dr. Nguyen was very kind. She's radiates a sense of confidence that made you feel like she really knows what she's doing, but was both informative and kind in her demeanor so it wasn't intimidating to voice my concerns and questions. I will definitely be using them as my dentist and recommend others to do the same. read more

Dr. Tran and staff were awesome! As a new patient, everyone walked me through step by step what they were going to do and how their office works. Dr. Tran was very through in explaining why he recommended what he did for treatment and how to take better care of my teeth. He also explained what each the instruments did and why he chose to use them. I'm not used to getting such personal attention from a doctor or dentist, so it was a very pleasant surprise. The office is very clean and new. They have a little room where you do your paperwork that is separate from everything else, so it's nice you're not talking about your bill and treatment in front of other patients. I tried three different dentists and hygienists in Houston before I was discovered Lifeworks and am very glad I finally found "the one." Their hygienist, Tish, is the best there is. She is so kind, compassionate, sympathetic and really understands what it's like to be a dental patient and adjusts her technique accordingly. I have gum recession and sensitivity so Tish is extra careful when working on my teeth and gums. She even uses a numbing agent so I won't be in as much pain which I appreciate. I see Dr. Tran who is the owner and main dentist at Lifeworks Dental and he, too, is fantastic. He has the best bedside manner and truly cares about his patients. He is very experienced but not cocky at all like some dentists. He does not rush his patients and takes the time to thoroughly explain things and answer all questions. He is very good at what he does. The front desk staff are very efficient and friendly as well. Can't say enough good things about Lifeworks Dental. I'm over-the-moon that they are in my dental insurance network too. read more

Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen did a great job cleaning my teeth. They were very gentle with my teeth and gums unlike other dentists that I've been to that seem to stab at your gums without guilt. I was a big fan of the informational video they play while you wait in the dentist chair! The video provided useful information while I waited for them to attend to me. The equipment at their office seems new and sophisticated. Times are changing and its great to see a dentist that is updated with the industries modern technology. They were able to show me the inside my mouth with a small video camera while they had me laying back in the chair. They were able to physically point out to me with the video camera what teeth they were working on. Plus they used other advanced gadgets throughout the visit. I've been to many dentists in different cities within the past 8 years and Dr. Tran & Dr. Nguyen have been my favorite. They are both very nice and give you advice on how to improve/maintain a healthy mouth without me having to ask. read more

Just wanted to include an update to my review. First, I want to express my gratitude to both Dr. Tran & Dr. Nguyen for reaching out to me as soon as this was posted to fix this issue. They scheduled to see me on a Saturday and Dr. Nguyen and her assistants did a great job. Dr. Nguyen stated that there were various cancellations the day I called to make my cancellation and there was a misunderstanding. My experience was the same as I had received on my first two visits: everyone was sweet and caring and wanting to make my experience as comfortable as possible. Their cancellation is something to still acknowledge, however, I feel like they would be able to work with you. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist! read more

Dr. Tran, Dr. Nguyen and the entire staff made my family and me feel welcome and at home. I like how they took the time to explain everything and made sure I understood before moving on. Afterwards they took the time to make a detailed treatment plan that I felt comfortable with. This is the first time that I really enjoyed a trip to the dentist, and am looking forward to future visits. My daughter, wife, and myself have all been motivated to keep our teeth clean and healthy. The office it's self is clean and cozy. It didn't have that typical "How do I get out of this place." atmosphere. Much better than the office from "Little Shop of Horrors". Ultimate rip off!! I've never felt more robbed. Came in for a cleaning for my 3 year old. My daughter was very compliant, opened her mouth wide like a big girl and he literally brushed her teeth with a cheap toothbrush. He didn't try to do anything else. No thorough cleaning, no floss, no flouride... And then they had the nerve to charge $189. This man brushed my daughter's teeth for $189 (I paid $70 out of pocket). I am utterly disgusted with this business. I was under the impression that she was going to get a cleaning, a professional cleaning, not a toothbrush brush . Had I known what the 'service' entailed, I would not have made an appointment. My husband called them and Angelica, their office manager, had the nerve to tell him that if we had not used insurance, then the 'brushing' would have been $50. No wonder health care is so expensive, when a dental office wants to charge almost $200 to brush a kid's teeth. It just seems to me, as a consumer and a mother, that they have no idea what to do with children. Incompetent and rip off business! read more

I found Lifeworks through Yelp and BOY am I happy about that decision. When coming into this location for the first time I was seeking a consultation. I had a feeling my previous dentist was trying to upcharge me and I kept having to get my appointments rescheduled. Lifeworks has been a miracle ever since! My first visit/consultation I was shown a breakdown of services I needed and a thorough payment plan. My dentist is Dr. Nguyen and she is amazing! I never once felt that they were trying to take advantage. I was offered a Pandora station of my choice, a neck rest and a pillow (which I asked for)! They made me feel SO COMFORTABLE which is amazing for a dental office. Knowing that a lot of customers can be creeped out from dental offices they made sure they did their best in providing me with much comfort! After my service Dr. Nguyen gave me a call later that night to check on me, which I never had happen before! Lol. This dental place is amazing and I will be sure to refer to a friend and continue my services here. The dental assistant is always nice too I don't remember her name. I recommended this place to several Chinese friends but they said it's too expensive for them to come and they don't want to spend too much $$ for the basic such as regularly cleaning. Came here last year to get fillings done by Dr. Tran. He was great, and the technology they use here is extremely high-tech and allows patients to understand what they are looking at. Got all of my fillings done without any anesthesia, which I was hoping for since I had to go to work after! I was pretty scared that it was going to hurt, but it was completely painless! Angelica was also having issues with my insurance, especially since they were being very uncooperative with providing her with details about how much I had to pay for various procedures. I loved my experience here! I am not a fan of the dentist at all...i actually prefer the gyno over the dentist. But this place was awesome!!! Everyone was so friendly. The office is quiet and very clean. The technology they have for cavity detection is pretty cool and was able to detect more than what dr tran initially found by just poking around because they were such small cavities. Angelica was great at explaining my insurance coverage and making sure i understood what and how much is covered. Dr tran was able to do all the work i needed, uninterrupted, and made sure i was comfortable and knew what was going on. My other half went with Dr. Tran who she highly recommended because of his thoroughness in cleaning and his time in educating her on ways to improve her current teeth health. I was scheduled with Dr. Nguyen who was personable and was very detailed. She double / triple checked with me to make sure my bite was correct which I appreciated. Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen are both very professional, friendly and skilled. I have seen them for cleanings and fillings for about 1 yr now. The staff are also professional yet super nice and friendly. I love that both Drs. gave me so much good advice about brushing. Apparently, I have been brushing too hard all of my life and my gums have receded to the point where the tops of my teeth are so sensitive. They showed this to me by taking photos of the teeth and showing on the big TV screen in the exam room. Dr. Tran taught me how to hold a toothbrush so that I will brush more lightly. I don't now why other dentists have not mentioned this to me before. They also really encouraged me to use an electric toothbrush since I have bad staining on my front teeth from tea drinking. So I used the electric toothbrush (they recommend soniccare) for 6 months. I just went for another cleaning - had no stains and very little plaque. I highly recommend Dr. Tran & Dr. Nguyen read more

This was my first time coming here, but I enjoyed it very much! They have a beautiful office, responsive office staff - I actually booked my first appointment via email and received very prompt replies each time. They explained in depth everything they were doing, even though this isn't the first time I've had a dentist appointment. However, this was the first time I've been to the dentist in years and no one made me feel bad about it. They just kindly educated me about the things that I really should have been doing these past few years and suggested techniques and tools (sonicare toothbrush) to help me care for my teeth. Ebony, Tish, and Dr. Tran was great about that. I spoke with Brenda and Sue on my way out and they were both helpful in telling me about what my treatment plan would cost, so there would be no surprises. I don't love how expensive it will be, but it's not their fault. You can tell they are very committed to making sure I will have a great smile and they were very gentle when working with my teeth, despite some sensitivity and my very small mouth. They took the time to show me my xrays and photos and bite alignment and gave me choices for my treatment plan when possible. It all made for a very enjoyable experience.
