I was in the area and craving ramen and this place popped up. There is plenty of parking on the street and they have parking lots between the buildings. I parked on the side of a building and got out and walked. Yall! Maps took me all over the block! I got my steps in that day but it's a lot of eateries so plenty to choose from. Oh, and I enjoyed the graffiti. Just as I was about to give up, I walked by two guys and one of them said, "You look hungry. You must be looking for the noodle spot". He said that people overlook it all the time. I had walked right by the restaurant multiple times. It's seems it's several restaurants share the same space so that confuses a lot of people. Also, the sign that says "Lifting Noodles" indicating you are in the right place was lying on the ground so I missed it. The restaurant is all the way in the back. I was greeted immediately and directed to place my order via a kiosk which I did. I ordered the Angry Zuko Ramen to go. They do have tables if you want to eat there. The wait was not long at all...maybe 5 minutes. The broth was really tasty and flavorful and had a nice kick to it. The meal is already spicy and when I ordered, there was a "make it spicy" option which I checked. So I'm not sure if by checking that option, it made it even more spicy than how it normally is or not. So this is one of the six restaurants inside of the pho spot inside of the battery. It's pretty solid. You have a myriad of restaurants to try, I was feeling like ramen so I stopped in for a Tonkotsu black. The ramen was good, I have to get a spicy, it had a hint of a plant taste to it versus just spice but it was still good though. You have to sit there and wait until they buzz your buzzer to get your food because it's made to order. Told all the things and gave all the detail. As a disabled person, this place was not ADA friendly. Parking near the location is very limited. This location is in a very bare bones location, so very small kitchens line one wall of the aisle, and limited seating lines the other wall. Seating is communal (picnic tables), and wheelchairs would not be able to maneuver well in the tight space. This seems more of a takeout spot, or a place from which to order delivery. I did not eat here, as it was such an effort to maneuver in and out, no one working there ever acknowledged me, and I left crying. I cannot judge the food, but I know there are other locations, so I'm looking forward to trying one of those to evaluate the food. The small food hall that contains Lifting Noodles is a chill haven in the chaos of EAV on a weekend night. You order via a QR code that you can find on the placards on the tables, and choose either takeout or dine-in. Lifting Noodles is I think merged with PokeBurri (the poke burrito place) so the online menu is a little confusing, but navigable. We went for some ginger miso salad and the veggie spring rolls to share, then the "angry zuko" ramen for me and the tofu udon for my dinner buddy. By the way, the ATLA references in the menu were much appreciated. Everything we ordered was great. The salad is your typical lil salad you get at most Japanese restaurants, but larger. The spring rolls were great although I do wish there was some wood ear mushroom in there for crunch. The ramen is really solid, with the thicker scraggly noodles rather than the thin straight ones. I personally have no preference between the two. I will say that having watched ATLA, and knowing how angry Zuko is for the first half of the show, I was expecting a pretty spicy ramen bowl. What I got instead was Zuko after he realizes his destiny and loses his rage...in other words it was really not spicy at all! Not sure if the other spicy ramens they offer are actually spicy. My dinner buddy's udon was apparently perfect and hit the spot on a chilly December night. The vibes are relaxed, it's not overly loud, and food comes out pretty quick. Last stall in the Suki Suki collective. We had the traditional ramen and the tan tan spicy ramen. They were nearly the same except that the tan tan had some spicy ground meat in addition to the basic pork belly, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, corn, bean sprouts, and green onions. The broth was moderately flavorful but the ramen noodles itself was not great. This was our first time in the collective and we regretted getting food from the ramen stall. The food in the other stalls looks more appealing. The ramen is better than nothing but definitely doesn't compare to other real ramen shops. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for the ramen. I went to this location in East Atlanta village looking for somewhere that wasn't too loud as I noticed most of the places in EAV on Saturday night had music blasting. We walked in here and it was very chill and had good reviews so decided to stay. We initially found it a little confusing as to how to order for dine in. We then realized that this location houses several different restaurants in one physical location. On the tables there is a print out of the different menus with QR codes. The lifting noodles counter is towards the back. I scanned the QR code and ordered online. I got the vegetarian Ramen with an egg added. The order was ready within five minutes and brought to the table. I thought it was pretty good, although I would have liked for there to be a more flavorful broth. The Ramen itself was decent the broth was tasty, but I got the tofu in mine and the tofu was completely bland and unseasoned. My son got the Ramen with chicken broth and , the mixed seafood and chicken and he seem to really enjoy it all. Salad was fresh and pretty good. The biggest issue I had was the Price even going into the restaurant for these four items plus 1 drink cost over $60. That seemed extremely expensive to me. Lifting Noodles was one of the first ramen shops in the EAV / Grant Park area, and even with the addition of Hotto Hotto (in the Beacon) and Ramen Station (across from Oakland Cemetery), Lifting Noodles' classics are a solid fixture in where I know to go to for ramen. (I'm not the only one who keeps this kind of mental list, right?) Shout out to the menu writers for the Avatar: The Last Airbender references! The owners do the same thing with the poke sister restaurant Poke Burri in the stall next to Lifting Noodles. The Angry Zuko ramen (spicy tonkatsu) or the Village Classic (regular tonkatsu) are our go-tos, unless we're dipping over to Poke Burri for some poke. The food here has always satisfied and has always been consistent for us. The staff is also always hustling to keep up with the many orders. You can order a planned ramen bowl or build your own with different topings. (Kimchi is an optional add-on!) There are pork, vegetable, chicken, and seafood ramen options available. I like Lifting Noodles Ramen. The ramen here is good and it's certainly the best you're going to find in this ramen-starved part of town (East Atlanta). This ramen shop opened right around the new year (2018). It's a counter-serve joint located inside the We Suki Suki food hall (https://www.yelp.com/biz/we-suki-suki-atlanta) in EAV (East Atlanta Village). It's owned and operated by the same folks behind Poke Burri (https://www.yelp.com/biz/poke-burri-atlanta-4), the poke and sushi burrito counter. The two stalls are located right next to each other. I would park on the street. Free street parking is available along Flat Shoals (right in front of the food hall) and Glenwood. If you can't find parking there, then I suggest parking down one of the streets off Glenwood. There's a parking lot next to the building, but I'm not sure exactly who it's for (I know you can park there if you're going to Gaja Korean Bar). The lot is also pretty beat up (bunch of pot holes). We Suki Suki is a narrow, bare-bones, communal space with about a half-dozen picnic tables shared by the four or five vendors inside. I've never had a problem finding a seat, but you'll more than likely have to share a table with strangers if you're not with a group of at least five or six. The vendor kitchens are small and out in the open. You and your clothes will leave this place smelling like food. Like Poke Burri, Lifting Noodles has laminated menus which you write your name on, mark up (using a dry-erase marker), and hand to the cashier to place your order. You pay up front. The food hall has a communal water cooler if you want water (free). Lifting Noodles sells bottled water, tea (green, Thai), and soda too. The menu is simple with a handful of starters - ginger miso beet salad, wakame (seasoned seaweed) salad, fried pork gyoza, and crispy fried Brussels sprouts - priced at $3.00-4.50 per order. There are seven ramen choices and four different kinds of broth: pork (tonkotsu), miso, chicken, and vegetarian. The ramen is priced at $11-13 per bowl. Add-ons, like extra protein, egg, and kimchi, cost $1-3 each. You can also build your own ramen starting at $11. Kale noodles, in lieu of standard egg noodles, are an option and they certainly make Lifting Noodles unique. Again, like Poke Burri, Lifting Noodles also has a secret menu. The fried pork gyoza and crispy fried Brussels sprouts were tasty/par for the course. I've had the Brussels sprouts twice so far and they've been consistent. The chili sauce they add to the Brussels sprouts tastes a lot like the Thai Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce I used to eat a lot with chicken growing up. My favorite app is the Korean fried chicken wings. I didn't see these on the regular menu, so they must be a special or secret menu item. They were delicious. Crispy wings slathered in a sweet and spicy sauce with black and white sesame seeds. These wings were definitely on the sweeter side (one of my friends thought they were too sweet), but I liked them. As for the ramen, I liked all three about the same. I can't say I prefer one significantly over another, but if I had to recommend one, it would be the Angry Zuko. I've had that one twice. It's named after the character Zuko from the animated TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The above three ramen are all prepared very similarly. They pack each bowl with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The soft-boiled egg in particular is good quality and nicely cooked. The egg noodles, while not my favorite around town (I prefer my noodles to have a denser and chewier consistency), are yummy. The miso broth has a more subtle sweet and tangy flavor to it while the pork broth is richer and tastes more robust. Lifting Noodles has and probably will be the most hole in the wall restaurant I have ever been to. Me and my friend had been trying numerous Ramen Places around the ATL and lifting noodles was our next destination. Lifting noodles is located in a small shopping strip in east ATL with a very hipster look. Locating the restaurant was a challenge as we later figured out it's inside another building with other various restaurants. For 4min we searched for a building with their sign on it until we ultimately gave up and asked some locals where it's located. So I suggest immediately asking someone around to avoid the back and forth pacing we did the first time. The inside of the building houses 3 small Asian restaurants and lifting noodles is located at the end of the small hallway. We were presented small menus where we used marker to select our desired dish and hand back to the cashier. We both selected the village classic, a pork broth with lots of different vegetables and an egg. The seating provided are medium sized red picnic tables where we waited till our food was brought to us. Once arrived, I could immediately tell that we were in for a glorious bowl of ramen. I started with a taste of the broth and almost yelled with how great the broth was. It was a burst of flavors in my mouth but the pork flavor was never lost in it. The noodles that were served with it were thin and fresh, my personal preference of noodle shape. The broth was so nice that when I finished all the noodles in my bowl, I immediately got up to order a second of serving. I waited a minute for the second serving of noodles and went straight back to devouring my bowl. I honestly wasn't expecting this level of flavor from this small place but I will never complain about these kinds of surprises. Not the very best ramen in ATL, but enough to fulfill your ramen craving. SERVICE: Very fast! People are nice. It's an order up, seat yourself, they bring your food to your table. AMBIANCE: Inside We Suki-Suki is very bare-bones and communal. There are wooden picnic tables inside which can fit about 6, so expect to share space. Not much room inside -- quite narrow so it can be awkward walking around. Great spot for a quick and casual bite to eat. Stopped around 8:00 PM on a Saturday and was greeted with difficult parking. Lifting noodles is tucked away in the middle of the trendy East Atlanta Village in a shared restaurant space. Seating inside is shared on picnic tables, which provides a unique eating experience. I ordered the Village ramen which features a clean tasting tonkotsu broth. Toppings tasted relatively fresh, and the egg noodles were the perfect texture. It's a little hard to spot driving by because there's not a huge sign outside, so you'll need to walk down the street. Pick up is a little hectic with so many people cramming up in the tiny waiting area, but they were ready on time with my ramen. I got the Angry Zuko Ramen and enjoyed it. It wasn't crazy spicy but had good flavor. It had all the standard toppings that I crave with ramen-- bean sprouts, egg, green onion. I really liked the broth because of its flavor but the noodles were a little chewy and starchy for me. Not a deal breaker, but just not the best ramen I've ever had. They had the option for more toppings and a bunch of appetizers which I would love to try next time. To summarize-- a small spot with quality ramen. I'll be back. read more

Great casual spot for reasonably priced ramen. Located in the We Suki Suki food complex in East Atlanta Village. I had the 1-UP vegetarian broth with egg noodle ramen. We went for weekday lunch and the place was medium busy. Ordered at the counter and sat at one of their shared picnic tables. They brought the food out for us with chili sauce upon request. It was the richest creamiest vegetarian ramen broth I've ever had! One of the FEW ramen places that does vegetarian broth and does it well! Location and parking: This is part of the collective, at the same spot as Poke Burri and one other place. Plenty of street parking available and a parking lot adjacent to Argosy is available for customers to park at. Food: I created my own bowl of spicy chicken ramen, topped with seaweed, soft boiled egg and bamboo shoots and corn. The bowl is very filling! it had the right amount of spice, the chicken was grilled perfectly. The broth was very rich and creamy. Service: Our food came out in ten minutes after we ordered. Very tasty. We got the Village Original and ChicKen ramen. The Pork was rather gamey and intense flavoured. We both preferred the Chicken flavor. We also got the Cali Burrito which was really tasty, especially if you like a California roll. The gyoza and crunchy spring rolls were yummy. And the salmon avocado "donut" was our favorite thing we tried! So flavorful and the salmon was buttery and fresh. One gripe, the service was friendly but disorganized and the waiting area was not safe for COVID distancing. Lots of people too close together trying to get food from multiple restaurants. First time trying a ramen spot in ATL. They are doing pick-up and no dine-in at the moment. Tried the miso salad and the Spicy Seafood ramen. It's kind of like a little hole in the wall with 3 restaurants combined. Lifting Noodles is at the back of the restaurant. It's really small and nothing fancy at all--you order, they bring it out to you, and you bus your own table. There have been times when someone has taken my bowl after I was done. There is communal seating so it's easy to make new friends when you are sitting so close together. I ordered the seafood ramen and it was delicious and inexpensive ~$13 or so for a big bowl of ramen! There's plenty of seafood in the ramen including shrimp, squid, and mussels. Parking can be tricky as with many places in Atlanta. read more
