Be very careful, the office staff is RUDE and trick you into signing a bogus 3 year contract. They charged my credit card without ANY authorization and told me I'm paying regardless. LOOOOL we are in 2022, there's NO such thing. Mandy Suero the "Assistant Head Elf" is so disrespectful and yelled at my wife because she questioned the charge. read more

Absolutely terrible company to work with. This is the third year of my contract and I advised them that I could not afford the $1500 their services because I lost my job during Covid. Not only would they not let me out of my contact (four months before Christmas), the threatened legal actions against my family if I didn't pay! I called several times looking to speak with the owner, Joe and he never had the common courtesy to return my call, he had one of his workers call me. But you know what...I am a man of my word, so I will pay them for this year. I guess my kids will just not get any presents this year. I'm sure Joe's kids will though. Merry Christmas JVS. Terrible customer service & they basically robbed me of my money. Within 48 hours I notified them I couldn't do the lights this year due to budget concerns and asked for the deposit back & they refused telling me it was due to pulling product? No one came onsite, no one measured or even scheduled the install. They shouldn't be able to do business locking customers into 3 year deals and stealing customers money. read more

We are discontinuing our service with JVS after this season. Not only are the workers messy upon completion of installation leaving plastic tabs, dirt and fake pine needles everywhere, but the owner is disingenuous and insisted the contracted wreath size was installed when it was not. Upon offering to send him a photo and video of the wrong size wreath, after he attempted to correct the wrong size wreath and light colors after the first round, he continued to insist he was correct, when in fact, he was not, and accused us of calling him a liar. The owner is a terrible business person and service contractor and simply refused to acknowledge his error and poor service. read more

Hi - I am very happy with JVS! There is an initial plan that is developed with target dates for completion. The workers are competent and complete the installation within a very short period of time, with minimal disruption. The overall result is a beautiful display that is unique to our home. read more

I am very happy with JVS. I have used them for the past few years. They installed when they promised and my house looked very pretty. I had one problem where the lights shut off and they came right away to fix them. I highly recommend this company for your holiday lights. read more

Joe, the head elf, has absolutely no compassion or business sense. I have been using his service for almost 10 years. This year I experienced some family difficulties and asked to pay(in full) a week after install. He responded no deposit, no lights. He throws around a lot of blessed this and blessed that, but truth is the almighty dollar is his god. I stuck with him out of loyalty, but truth is there a plenty of companies like his that do just as good work at cheaper prices. Would not recommend at all. read more

Do not use these people. You will be tricked into signing a 3 year contract if you do not read the small print. We thought we were signing a one year agreement and they are threatening to sue us if we do not do all the years. They never told us it was a three year agreement. read more

JVS Christmas Lighting...Bottom line - do NOT use them. (I haven't written in Yelp since 2012 and doing so now just so I can share with you my unpleasant experience with them.) Joe (I believe who is the owner) has no people skills and will ruin your Christmas plan and spirit. I think I read another review with the same comment and lo and behold I experienced the same unpleasantness. Here's what happened: I had scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning at 9am for them to assess my house for the Christmas lighting. I get an email 6am that morning telling me there is a $500 minimum and do I still want to proceed. I respond, yes. Still no show at 9am. I get another email at 10am adjusting my appointment to 10:30. I say ok again. Then an hour later, they send me another email moving it to 3:45pm. I was willing to deal with the changes since it was after all a very busy season. HOWEVER, when I spoke to Joe to ask what time they are really going to come, he totally lashed out at me. He literally yelled at me saying "you want me to come or not!" I was mortified since he was the one putting me out by changing the schedule. Who talks like that to a prospective client? I responded "excuse me?" and that's when he hung up the phone on me saying "I can't deal with this". It was literally a 40 second exchange on the phone. Instead of apologizing and having a normal sane conversation he was completely unprofessional and offensive. I've never had such a disappointing experience with a service provider, especially when Christmas lighting service is suppose to offer the opposite. read more
