I compared Baker to another company and though slightly more expensive, I went with Baker believing they were a larger and more reputable company than the other installer. Every step in the process, outside of signing the contract and making payments of course, did not go according to original explanation. And now....8 months after installation...I need a service technician to come inspect the system to see why my electricity keeps going in and out at night, possibly related to the battery. I was told by an agent that I would be charged $750 for the service call if it turns out the issue is not covered under the warranty. I have never paid $750 for a service call in my life. I have no way of knowing if what's going on is an installation issue and my trust in this company is extremely low after them not doing a single thing as originally described throughout the process. So disappointed. Go elsewhere.

Crystal Rojas kept us informed of the scheduling, financing and what step the project was in. When installation day came, we could not have had a better crew than Francisco's crew. On the hottest day of the summer his crew installed our solar panels and Powerwall with limited power interruptions. They cleaned up before they left leaving no trace of being there. Currently I have multiple electricians verifying this. You cost me over $2000 due to loss of 30% tax credit for that upgrade and me having to dump $1000 to replace the zinsco breakers in a desperate effort to make it safer. He said at the time he was still waiting authorization from SDG&E to have our system approved before 'going live'. It is now end April and we still have not had the Solar 'approved and connected'. I subsequently made inquiries on the Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB) website, to learn his license is under suspension. He did not disclose this at anytime, albeit the CSLB states "The licensee is not entitled to operate during the period of suspension until certain requirements are met." On checking with SDGE they have advised that the solar permit application submitted by the contractor had expired. All attempts to get Simms Solar Inc to submit the required permit have failed. I am pursuing his illegal operation with the CSLB. Matt Simms lacks integrity and ethics insofar as his professional behavior and operations. He is not to be trusted.
