Not busy at all. Always get to use the workout machines I want, but it's a little small.

When snowbirds are here you can't really get into classes ( most are great) unless you set alarms for yourself and sign up a couple of days ahead. The place skews older and I although there are high school kids there in the afternoons it's not age diverse. Plus side is it's very forgiving and a great place to start weight lifting and more. There are paid programs for that and I think that would be worth it. I belong to a few other places so it's not a problem. I really like yin yoga there and trx . If this is going to be your main place you will be frustrated.

Okay... how did I NOT know this place existed?! That's…read moreexactly what I was thinking the first time I stepped foot onto the JCC. I discovered the Tucson Jewish Community Center after they hosted the Hot Cocoa Run 5K (hands down one of the funnest, most vendor-packed races I've ever done ), and let me tell you--walking into the JCC feels like stepping into a whole other world. This place is HUGE and has everything. They gifted a week pass in our swag bags from 5k and I fully leaned in--and I'm so glad I did. First off, the community + programming here is next level. I got to participate in pottery and ceramics classes (SO fun and surprisingly legit), and I love that they partner with local creatives and groups. It gives the whole place a collab, community-driven feel that I'm always looking for. On the fitness side--they're not playing around. I took multiple classes, and their cycle class (aka performance ride ) was actually really solid. Great energy, great programming. I also hit a strength-based class that delivered, and the gym floor itself is super clean, spacious, and not overcrowded (major win). The crowd is also refreshingly diverse in age, which I loved--it truly feels inclusive. And can we talk about the Cafe at the J... because YES. Tons of vegan options , actually flavorful, and super affordable. Not your typical "gym cafe" situation at all. Beyond that, this place is basically a mini campus--tennis, pools, art spaces, events, rentals, and even traditional Jewish baked goods (fresh bread, hello ). They also host a TON of events--like so many it's hard to keep up--so definitely check their calendar because there's always something happening. Overall, I'd absolutely go back. Whether you're going for fitness, arts, community events, or just to explore something new in Tucson--this place is a whole experience.

I only ever use the weights, never tried out any of the other amenities nor used the locker rooms or bathrooms. Boundless options for equipment, never really too busy (when I moved to the U of A rec center I was shocked to learn it was normal for people to wait in lines for equipment!). One star off because cancelling my membership was like fitting a camel into the eye of a needle.

started to go to this gym about 4 months ago, and since day one i have been encountering this older…read moreman staring at me, no matter what i was wearing or what exercise i was doing, he would stare at me and smile weirdly at me. The only reason i would look at him was because i felt the stare towards me. Fast forward to recently and nothing has changed.. my boyfriend decided to confront him(we share a membership) outside of the gym, right after closing time. My boyfriend respectfully let him know that i was feeling uncomfortable with the way he was looking at me, the first thing he replied with was " well is she from a different country??" my boyfriend was very surprised by this reply, and he replied to him saying that had nothing to do with the situation and that it was a disrespectful comment to make. He then proceeded to comment on what i wear to the gym, saying "oh she's just a chick in the gym, she needs to watch what she wears" to which he repeated "yea she seems to have a staring problem, is she from a different country?" after all of that, he threatened my boyfriend to never get close to his car again or he would get hurt, so we decided that it was best to bring it up to the LA fitness crew(@ first ave) and then the manager. They wanted us to wait until he checked in to the gym so that they could get his name and phone (which they already have in their system). Fast forward a week they finally reached out to him and after the manger called my boyfriend and told him that they spoke with the man about the incident and the man claimed that he was feeling uncomfortable with me and that they (the man and his 2 sons) recorded a video where he was "coaching" his kids to be nice and smile at me because I made the feel uncomfortable because "I stare at them" (I don't even know how they look and whenever I stared was because he stared at me first). This whole situation is just so disappointing because the first time we spoke to the manager she said that she was going to talk to him and let him know that if he kept making me feel uncomfortable she was going to revoke his membership and now she's defending him and as a woman this is even more sad since she told me that this has also happened to her before and her lack of empathy is just so disappointing, especially as a manger of a gym, you should know how to properly handle these situations without siding with one side that is using some evidence that sounds hard to believe considering how you made someone feel uncomfortable for over 4 months. There should be no need for us to be going through this because we are paying for the membership, and i was not looking for this man to get banned, but i simply wanted the LA fitness team to tell him that we cannot have someone make others uncomfortable by staring and weirdly smiling at others, and if it keeps happening that his membership is at risk of being revoked. Overall this situation has been disappointing, and i wish it would have been addressed more directly to this person. I am unsure if i want to continue my membership here at this gym, it is unfortunate that to this day and age this still happens to many women in the fitness community.

Sooooooo amazing…read more This gym seriously checks all the boxes. First off--really awesome classes here. Like, not just filler classes... actual good workouts that leave you feeling it. The space itself is super CLEAN with a really nice aesthetic. It's big, doesn't feel cramped, and there's a huge variety of options--everything from classes to hydro massage, red light, tanning, etc. You can literally make a whole self-care day out of being here. I'm obsessed with the Studio Red class--major asskicker in the best way. Total sweat factory you will walk out drenched but feeling accomplished. Today I tried the new infrared heated yoga flow with Keli and wow... complete heaven. Such a good balance of challenging and relaxing. I left feeling reset. No need to lug around a mat ! they have plenty to use & assigned numbered spots for you and your mat - Huge perk. Honestly, this place just hits. Good sound systems throughout , Great energy, great workouts, and tons of options depending on your mood. The only 2 downsides is the parking lot , Horrible location & unsafe at night . Do not leave valuables in your car . The other is the staff , they are EXTREMELY pushy and salesy so be warned if that's not your jam .

Today, as we were departing, he attempted to repeat the behavior while we were walking to our vehicle. Given the lack of seriousness displayed by management in addressing this matter, I believe it is futile to continue reporting. We have been members of other gyms nationwide, and this is the first time we have encountered such an individual who feels compelled to bother and demean other patrons, based on their perceived sexuality, while they are exercising to boost his own self-esteem. This gym is not a safe environment for exercise, and we will not be renewing our membership. Please exercise caution when working out in this facility, as his behavior may be indicative of his overall demeanor.
