I have had other place work on my kids teeth and always get the run around. my daughters both needed work and all the other places said their teeth were fine. really, I can see the cavities. the last place i went to said my daughters teeth hurting was all in her head. so i asked around and was sent to Above & Beyond Dentistry & Implants where I meet Mr. Low and his team. I got to look over all the x-rays and they showed me everything that was wrong and walked me through all the steps of what could be done. nothing was ever pushy they made me, and my family feel right at home it was never here is your appt and get out.

I get in the office first thing I say is can I sign in for my appointment lady says I need to sign this paper as I start to sign the papers and SIMPLY ASK HOW MUCH WILL I NEED THAT WAY I CAN PAY IN FULL NO PAYMENTS DUE TO NO INSURANCE. I HAD THE MONEY! I was ready to pay JUST NEEDED TO KNOW EXACT AMOUNT. The lady sitting directly behind the one that was actually helping me decided to INTERRUPT in and say she can't give me the price until the procedure was done at that point I felt like she was using her power and shut me down immediately. I HAD MY DAUGHTER WITH ME DROVE 37 min over there. HAD MONEY IN HAND JUST WANTED TO KNOW PRICE BEFORE I HAVE TO SIGN PAPERS. I simply say since you don't tell me price I don't want your guys help. Why would I sign something you won't tell me the price on? It's one tooth for crying out loud. They let me walk out knowing I needed that tooth pulled and I was in pain and CLEARLY IRRITATED FROM IT FACE SWOLLEN AND ALL. I had to look at my lil one get turned away EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE Money. Then they told me I needed three crowns so I had an out of town dentist look at the xrays and his opinion was the crowns weren't necessary. So I switched to Battle Ground Smiles and they haven't recommended any additional work (even though that's where they could make the most money I'm sure). My recent visit showed some dark areas which I'm sure my former dentist would say needed to be drilled and filled but BG Smiles dentist said they would look at it again in 6 months and in the meantime if I flossed that area really well further work might not be necessary. I really appreciate that they don't over-prescribe dental work and so anything they do recommend I'm sure is really necessary.

Dr. Kevin Low at Above & Beyond Dentistry was recommended to me. At first I couldn't imagine going all the way to Battle Ground from Portland "just for the dentist," but since I needed some work done and I hadn't gotten any other recommendations AND I got a same day appointment, I decided to go. Boy, was I in for a surprise. I had the most comprehensive exam and cleaning EVER. He and my hygienist went over every possible issue with my teeth, and mouth, and were careful to explain things to me as they went along. He asked me questions and listened to my answers, then prescribed a treatment course that makes sense for me. As I was leaving I scheduled my next appointment for a partial crown ( I didn't even know you could have a partial!) with his friendly and helpful front desk staff. So yes, it IS worth it for me to drive all the way to Battle Ground for my dentist.

They went above and beyond to make sure we left completely pain-free, and they were extremely helpful when we ran into some challenges with our dental insurance. Andersen Dental office shared information I needed today, and consequently I am referring others and my son, who just graduated pharmacy school, to Andersen Dental, as a future dental office to go to for their/his own teeth. :) I spoke with front office staff /insurance there and the two people I communicated with on the phone today were totally awesome and made my day. It is never fun to be ill, and Andersen Dental made me feel welcome even though my insurance is not covered at their office. Nice. But my son's insurance will be, and that of others I know. I have been a patient for 2 years, and each time I visit, I am greeted with warmth and care, like family! Recently, the crown of my implant (placed by another dentist 10 years ago) became loose. Dr. Jardine and his medical assistants worked HARD, for hours.... for weeks, to save my implant. It was not an easy task. My implant is discontinued, it was hard to find the tool, hard to use the tool, and hard not use the tool. I knew it was risky for Dr. Jardine remove the crown because the screw between the crown and implant was stuck. I knew I could lose my implant, and I would cost $5,000 or more to replace. Dr. Jardine is transparent and trustworthy, and I expected the worse! He took his time (several hours), saved my implant, and replaced the crown. I am grateful. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you! Worst dental practice ever! Treat you like you are just a number and seem disinterested. Got a filling that resulted in terrible jaw pain for two weeks (still have it) spreading down my throat... this was from 6 numbing shots because she (the female dentist) hit the jawbone instead of the gums while chatting with her co-worker. When numbing wore off, the entire side of my head and my ear were in extreme pain. Ear and head paid went away but jaw pain has progressively spread down my neck which now has a lump. When I called the after hours number tonight the dentist NEVER called to discuss the spreading pain/cause, just called in hydrocodone with no discussion. Did a NUMBER of xrays including a panoramic..told me my insurance would cover and they denied most of them. This is NOT a caring provider...look elsewhere. I feel like a piece of meat with really good insurance.
