The ambiance was great, the crowd was rowdy in the best way possible. All their beers on tap were local, from Haines Brewing. Why every town in Alaska isn't like this (local beer on tap at the local restaraunts), I have no idea. This should be the norm! Instead you'll often see something like Alaskan Amber, Bud Light, and Stella Artois. The pizza took a while to come out, 30-45min, but they were SWAMPED because of beerfest. When it finally did, it was very good. This is NY-ish style pizza. The emphasis is on really thin crust. This was a pretty good take on it! My only real complaint is that this dough/crust performs very, very poorly when eaten the next day. This is definitely EAT NOW pizza, not SAVE SOME FOR LATER pizza.

Maybe it was the combination of the mozzarella and parmesan, but the goat cheese was a bit overpowering and couldn't really taste much of the salmon. Left feeling like I made the wrong choice. We weren't there for a typical meal, we did a culinary and Alaskan gardening class. These two things happen to be my all time favorite pass times. I learned so much from nearly every staff member I came into contact with. Their pastry chef taught us so much about bread making and the science behind it and was incredibly knowledgeable. The in house gardener (yes they have one of those!) grows ingredients on site to help supplement food costs and she taught us so much about how climate impacts the plants she grows. (Their rhubarb was gigantic) everything we ate was off the charts amazing! If I had to give a negative comment it would be that the manager seemed inconvenienced by the guests and made sure to tell us that we were keeping him from his busy day, but to be fair he said he isn't usually the one who gives guest presentations so I have to give him props for doing it even when he clearly had other things to do. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE if you find yourself in Skagway, but get there early because space is limited. 11/10 Great job!!!

During the summer months when able to sit outside, you are blessed with some amazing views. All of the food is good and the staff are friendly. My halibut fish basket came with 2 pieces of fish. While the fish was pretty thick, it was not overwhelming and the batter wasn't too thick. They give you a ton of fries. It was a short wait for the dinning room but they had a pub setting which had a limited menu. The beer was interesting, had an evergreen taste which was good and I was glad I tried it. We tried the loaded fries which was very good. I had the king crab which I had to eat fresh while in Alaska and my wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. It's located inside this incredibly cute and impressively decorated hotel. As soon as I saw the words "Breakfast Buffet", I knew we struck gold. The food was incredible! Everything was laid out nicely, smelled great, and was hot! The servers were so kind and prompt too. This was the greatest meal we have had in a long time! I highly recommend this to anyone passing through Skagway!
