Omg this place is a MUST visit while in Skagway, Alaska. We were so lucky to come upon it while at port. The crab legs were so fresh and so delicious (better than the famous Tracy's crab legs in Juneau in my humble opinion). We ordered 2 orders of the king crab leg that was longer than our forearms. The fries that came with them were so so delicious with a seasoning that I haven't had before. Kind of barbecuey! And even better with malt vinegar on top. The coleslaw was very good too!!! The local beer and ciders on tap were great. The S spruce tip though had us order an other pretty quickly!! And a local specialty. My mom ordered the chowder. It was potato heavy and had small lumps of seafood. I don't think we would recommend this item. The hostess at this location was so awesome too. We even got merch a glass to commemorate our best meal in Alaska! read more

Solid place to grab some lunch while docked in Skagway. The place has a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. During the summer months when able to sit outside, you are blessed with some amazing views. All of the food is good and the staff are friendly. My halibut fish basket came with 2 pieces of fish. While the fish was pretty thick, it was not overwhelming and the batter wasn't too thick. They give you a ton of fries. If you order an entree that comes with fries, no need to order the appetizer version So, if you've been cruising all week and need a break from shop food - this place is a solid pick. read more

Visited this establishment after a train ride to the white pass. They were very accommodating for a party of seven and were able to seat us outside immediately. We lucked out with the weather and were able to dine in their beautiful patio section. Service was amazing. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer and was totally okay with us splitting the tab up into 3 checks. Our table ordered a variety of dishes including the deck boss and fish and chips. Everyone seemed to love their food but my oyster po boy was overly spiced and wasn't the greatest po boy I've ever had, but still tasty. I would opt for the deck boss next time as I tried a bite and it was the star of the show. This place is a must try! read more

If you're pulling into port on a cruise and looking for the real deal Alaskan cuisine, don't pass this place up! The Alaskan King Crab was fresh and flavorful, and my wife loved her fish sandwich. Stopped to have a quick bite after the White Pass Railroad trip. There was wait, place is small and cozy. Energetic and vibrant, many tourists coming in from excursions and town touring. Food was amazing. Ordered the Salty's Alaskan soup, halibut fish and chips, and a Spruce Tip Blonde beer. It's worth the wait , staff is efficient and friendly, food is delicious. Salty Siren Eats and Tap House was an absolute win! I had the Alaskan king crab legs and WOW--so fresh, so flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily one of the highlights of our trip. My daughter, who has a shellfish allergy, ordered the burger and really enjoyed it, and my wife had the steak sandwich, which she said was delicious as well. I needed something quick before my excursion. Coleman got me in at the bar and sadly I didn't get my servers name but he www from Ny and super nice. I needed quick options so i did the shrimp toast and cup of chowder. He thought he might be out of toast but luckily there was more. It was so worth it. While I waited I saw they had local root beer on draft. I had to have one. Also worth it. Then my food came. The lady told me I made a good choice. She wasn't wrong. The shrimp toast jumped with flavor and the chowder was chunky delicious goodness. It's super cute and quaint and everyone was nice. At the bar a couple employees toasted the last day so I inquired. Today's the last day open til April! My bartenders are going to Montana and the lady that served me, Washington. I was told they provide housing and that's common in the seasonal industry. I learned so much while eating a delicious meal before my train. I'm always curious about how towns like this sustain themselves. If I come to Skagway again I'm coming back! This is a fun spot to have lunch off the ships. Wife and I did the Dewey Lake hike and came back hungry. Sat immediately even though they were busy. We split the Halibut and Chips, Bleu Bread and a couple local brews. Everything hit. My first ever halibut was divine. The fries were seasoned and hot. The Bleu Bread my friends, thats one you'll want to copy at home. Broiled Bleu cheese crumbles on garlic bread. Taste is reminiscent of chargrilled oysters. If they can pair this somehow with the oysters they are currently serving, look out. It's a 5 star lunch spot. Can't go wrong. read more

Like most, we came in on a cruise ship and wanted some king crab. This had the best reviews so we gave it a shot. There's a reason it has the best reviews. This might quite possibly be the best MEAL I've ever had in my life. The king crab was incredible. The halibut fish n chips were to die for. The fries were the best I've ever had. They make their tartar sauce which should be bottled up and sold because hoooooly sh-t. Seriously all the food here looked good. All the guests were complimentary. But I am SO glad this was the stop we finally got our king crab from. Huge leg and the best pricing we'd seen on the trip. Now that I'm done ranting about the food, the service was awesome. Clark was the best and attentive and nice and provided solid recommendations. My beer never hit empty before another was on its way. This place should have about $$$$ by its name. It is expensive. We had halibut and chips. Two pieces of fish and a handful of oddly seasoned fries. $39.00. No slaw, that's extra! The fish was ok, but the fries? Why not just serve plain old deep fried potatoes. Really have to wonder why halibut is more expensive in Alaska than California. read more

Fantastic food, super service and Alaskan ambience all rolled into the perfect place! I had the Halibut Fish & Chips accompanied my the Scagway Brewery' Red Star Amber and the Alaskan Chowder. First, the chowder is a think corn and potato based mixture with various Alaskan seafood thrown in with spiced that make this distinctive and delicious. The halibut was fresh (just brought in from nearby Haines) and the right-sized fish. Recently had halibut F&C elsewhere and it was an older fish and the meat wasn't as tender or flavorful. Fries were hit and plentiful - a real hit. The Amber was very good and paired nicely with my meal. G had the 20 ounce crab leg, which she said was the right size and very tasty. She agreed the fries were delicious and we really liked the Salty Siren. We got lucky - great weather and enjoyed the outside seating and lovely views. If your ship or other adventures take you to Skagway, you must check into the Slaty Siren!! read more

I was really looking forward to the smoked salmon sandwich, but when we got there it wasn't on the menu. We still stayed and I'm glad we did. The new salmon sandwich was AMAZING and the fries were even better. Hubby also got the shrimp toast, wasn't my favorite but hubby like it. We split everything. Service was great. I went here with some friends while we were waiting for others to finish some excursions. We sat outside and it has an awesome view. Since we had already eaten, I just got a cup of Salty's Alaskan Chowder $8.99 as a snack. This was fine, not the best one but not the worst either. The smoked salmon rillette was amazing!!! Our order of one serving was enough for dinner for both of us when combined with a green salad. After exploring Skagway, I decided to stop here for a quick bite to eat and a beer. Skagway has lots of small shops and amazing views to offer. The Smokehouse has a nice heated patio and you order at the counter and receive a number to place at your table. I settled for a local porter and something I haven't had before. A reindeer dog. It tastes like a 100% beef dog, not gamey, had a nice snap. They also had fish and chips on the menu if you're in the mood for seafood. The service was nice and friendly. read more

Stopped in after seeing all the reviews. The menu has changed since last season (2023 vs 2024); while we couldn't get the smoked salmon sandwich that we came for the one we got was fantastic as well. It's a wonderful stop for a meal that definitely doesn't feel like it's the normal touristy stop. Seating is inside and out. We sat outside because the weather was perfect. Service was friendly.
