A day after , Barak came out to take a look . He made several suggestions that I hadn't considered and took his time to explain the process. But I am must say I was beyond impressed and so took the initiative to do this. We were planning for a bathroom addition and building a new pantry for our home sweet home. Though the project was small it was a lot of money for a middle class family like ours. We did a little online research and scheduled a few contractors. From the beginning Barak from lightning construction amazed me. He arrived on time, was to the point and very understanding and cooperative of our needs. His pricing was competitive and reasonable. We have the most beautiful kitchen! It is beyond my dreams. Lightning Construction uses quality products. The cabinets are gorgeous. The drawers close softly. We had workers here practically every work day. If something isn't done to your liking, Michael will keep sending workers until the project is done to your satisfaction. Michael has great taste in design. We opted to use glass subway tile instead of white subway tile for our back splash. Oh! It is just stunning. I love the beach look. My kitchen has a classy beach look. I am just so happy! Everyone who sees it is in awe. A foreman doesn't come to check on the work. We checked the work and communicated with Michael all questions, concerns, and compliments via text messages. Michael gets back to us right away. There is never a delay in communication. We, the customer, paid for all of the tiles (back splash & floor) as well as the counter-top. Michael helped us get better prices from our local tile and counter-top stores. When Michael needed something shipped quickly, he paid for that expense. We paid for appliances which is really the norm. I would absolutely recommend Lightning Construction!! I wanted to write a review to let everyone know how very pleased I am with the job that Philip did with the remodel of our bathrooms. Philip is a true tradesman and a very hard worker. He is such a skilled tile layer; the very best I've seen. He showed up everyday on time and worked very hard. I am a very detail oriented person and am not an easy person to please. However, Philip is so talented and hardworking that I could not find even one thing to complain about. He handled all the plumbing for the new walk-in shower; swapped out the toilets installed the new faucets and just basically worked his heart out! The workmen who did the wet mop, the granite counter top fabrication and installation, and the shower door fabrication and installation were all very talented and did excellent work as well. Michael Tal, the COO, was very professional and personable. He fielded all of our questions, and calmed our fears and concerns from the start. He scheduled our work quickly and kept the job running smoothly. If I had a question, he was always just a text away. Everyone has horror stories about contractors from shoddy work to never showing up when they say they will. I am so relieved that everything worked out so well for us and so glad that we selected Lightning Construction to do our work. They are indeed a first class company! We had them come out to give us a quote after we had seen a very nice remodel in our neighborhood that they did (a modest but nice one). It did take a few phone calls to get the company to come out so that should have been the first sign. They seemed to be sizing us up for $$$ as the lady kept going on about various celebrity houses they had done and was inquiring over and over about our budget. Word of mouth referrals are extremely important and I heard about Barak from a good friend. We were building a brain new house , it was a complex project with a long list of tasks. Very disappointed with the "finished" work. First the positives. They were on time, friendly and were willing to work around my work schedule. I hired them to replace a beam above my front door that was sagging and making my front door difficult to open and close. I also hired them to install a new front door at the same time. Demo was quick and the work was completed in just a few days. However, that's where the positives end. The attention to detail was just poor. The finished project was sloppy. The door lock face plate is crooked and not flush with the door as it's supposed to be. The corner miter cuts were badly cut. And the strike plate looks like it was installed by a kid, despite the installer being "one of their best" as I was told. After multiple texts and conversations with the project manager (Amos) he promised he would take care of everything. 3 months later, still nothing is fixed. I've added picture for you to see for yourself. If you want the job done quick, go ahead with this company. If you want the work done properly, find someone else. read more

Pushy, dishonest people. Called in the company to give us a quote on how much it would cost to fix a kitchen damaged by a pipe leak. The so-called CFO came to our place, and refused to leave for over five hours until he finally got us to sign an agreement and hand over a $1000 check. We were told that we had ten days to cancel if we were to change our mind, and that if we did, we would be returned our deposit check within ten days. After sleeping on it, the quote of 30,000 just wasn't sitting well with us, so we called the company the next day to cancel. The CFO arrived later that day at our home to try to persuade us to change our mind, but because of other commitments we were unable to talk to him as he would have liked (i.e. another 5 hours). The next day (day 2 of the 10 given to cancel) we called again to reaffirm we were canceling, and that we would like our deposit returned to us. We spoke to a secretary who assured us she would personally see to it that our check was returned. We called again today, three weeks later, to check on the return, and the person who answered our call hung up on us. We have still not received our check. read more

I hate to say this, but I can only give them 1 star. We were scheduled to have a representative come to our house at 6:30-7pm last night to discuss the work that we're looking to do. Lightning Construction & Design reached-out to confirm our appointment in the morning (which is why I'm giving them one star), but the appt time came and went with no call/no show...nothing. I called their main office (and the number that called to confirm the appt.) at 7:15pm to confirm someone was coming and left a message on their voicemail. It's now noon the next day and I've yet to hear from anyone. I was looking forward to meeting with them due to all of their positive reviews, but I've got to say, it's pretty disappointing to not even get a courtesy response/apology the next morning for the no-show. I'd left work early to be home for the appt and we got our toddler to bed early and our infant fed ahead of time, just to be sure we spent ample time with the representative uninterrupted. Pretty disheartening... UPDATE 9/14/17: Since my initial review above, Talia from Lightning Construction & Design reached-out to apologize and arrange a 2nd meeting attempt, as the previous representative had gone to the wrong address. We scheduled and met with Amos who has been helpful and responsive. We look forward to potentially working together. read more
