This is an old review that got stuck in the draft box. So, a few months and pre-COVID-19. This was the fifth place I called. I needed to get a tailliight, back bumper, and side panel fixed on my car. I had many concerns- being ripped off, having my car declared ""totaled" since it was older, the length of time to fix, etc. Daniel was referred to me by one of the companies I called that my insurance company recommended. He was extremely nice over the phone and very patient explaining all the options. I still felt nervous about leaving my car. My insecurity stemmed from the phone always going straight to voicemail. The first time he did return my call right away. I like communication and contact. Once my car was dropped off, communication improved and I learned e-mail was the best way to communicate- not phone or text. Daniel was able to get additional money to do the repair (every auto body shop said the insurance quote was low), not get it declared "totaled" and he fixed it in a timely manner. With the exception of the annoying phone always going to voicemail and then voicemail saying the mailbox is full, my experience was very positive and would be 5 star. Only docking a star over a weird incident with my remote key. He offered to change the battery. This turned out to be more expensive more of a freakish ordeal than I thought. And it somehow resulted in the steering wheel being locked and me losing another day getting my car. So I had to make 2 trips to get it. In summary- fabulous body work, honest guy who will work with you, and the work was top notch...but take your key to the dealer to change the battery. read more

After a significant collision, I was looking for the only shop I was doing to consider to make my vehicle just like new again. Unfortunately, to my dismay, when I went to the shop, Like New was closed. I figured I would need to use one of the "provider" shops, or worse yet... trust a shop with few reviews (and few workers), to do a big job on my Infinity 2013 Infiniti M56 Sport. After I resigned to one of my less ideal options, I learned that Like New was not gone. They just moved closer to me, and into a much larger location. And sooo much easier to get in and out of (that was my only issue with them... That difficult parking situation on Broad Street). Once again, my car looks brand new, with real OEM parts, and lights and equipment recalibrated, etc. Their painting is second to none (to me, that's so much of the costumer experience. Quality paint/painters makes the difference. If it matters to you, which is the important question here... IF IT MATTERS TO YOU... Don't waste your time or your money on a lesser paint, or on a lesser shop. Or one that might not necessarily have your interests first in their minds (think about it). I can't tell you how impressed I am with this business. I came in with damage to my car after a minor accident. Javier reviewed the damage and provided an estimate that was $500 below my insurance appraisal. The job was not only flawless they cleaned the car and detailed it inside and out. The van needs detail it has hair dog needs serious cleaning they were running a special for $ 140 but I didn't qualify for the special because of the dog hair so my price was $220 and he said regular is $295 I left the van 2 days after that I was called to pick up the van from out side it looked great the waxed it interior looked clean and nice I paid and left next day i took the third seat out to make room for cargo and I found piles of dog hair they didn't touch under the seat I was very upset I called them ! one of his employee answered the phone i addressed my concern he told me we will call you back . These guys made my Miata look, literally... like new. I just purchased it used from someone on craigslist and I wanted it to look and feel perfect. I got the full detailing inside and out. They did an amazing job, though it took around 6 hours. The guy who runs it is very friendly and helpful. He seems to take great pride in his business. Always a positive. They have 2 locations so you never have to wait long to get your car washed because if one location can't take you the other one normally can 3. They did a great job for a decent price. I give them five stars but have a few comments. - good: I like that the owner, Daniel, is responsive to reviews and to phone calls (including mine); - bad: it seems that the phone doesn't ring in the shop but rings somewhere offsite so it's a little harder to communicate than it should be; - good: both the body work and the detailing were well done; - could be better: I was a little disappointed that the body work took a few more days than I was promised; - good: that I was able to walk in Saturday without an appointment and get my car detailed that day; - could be better: estimates are a little more casual, informal, laid back, than I would like. All this being said, I hope they make improvements, but I'll use them again! read more

Like New Automotive may be a body shop but they definitely not an auto repair shop. Please, please do not take your vehicle to them for repairs and/or mechanical problems. They simply do not have a clue. Worse, fiddling and fumbling with your vehicle while they do not know what they are doing, their technician/mechanic will make your vehicle worse than you brought it in. Line New Automotive may be a body shop, but they definitely not an auto repair outfit. Please stay away from them for auto repairs. Worse, they will waste your time and charge you for. They kept my car for 3 days without as much as calling me to at least let me know what was going on. Thy kept making up excuses each time I called until I got tired of paying for Uber and Lyft and picked up my car the 3rd day. And they charged me $130 for "Diagnostics." even though I had already told them what the problem with the car was. Worse, they messed up my car keys to the point that the remote keys no longer work. When I brought the car to Like New Automotive, both my remote keys were working perfectly. Three days later, when I picked up my car, after paying $130 for "diagnostics," neither of my key FOBs now works. Even the FOB that I did not give to them. Now, in spite of myself, I have to take car back to the Toyota Dealership. They are about the same price but at least they know what they are doing. Please, please, please stay away from Like New Automotive for your car repairs. A very, very, unprofessional outfit which may end up costing you way more than you bargained for. read more

I had scraped/dented a section on my car. Like New repaired and repainted to match in 3 days. The paint is a pearlescent ivory, and the new work matches completely. Like New offered lifetime guarantee on the paint - which I find amazing. I had similar repairs elsewhere on a prior car and they offered 5 yr guarantee but the paint didn't make it even 18 months. I may get glass coating reapplied on top of this section - the exterior stays much cleaner with that glass coating. I had gone to ProShieldInc for the the coating originally. I won't review the coating part, except to say that it really works well. read more

So, Daniel ended up calling me the day I wrote the review, which was very nice of him. So, I ended up taking the car in the following day, and I just got it back yesterday. They did A LOT of great work, including taking the seat out, carpet out, changing the sensors, drying everything out; plus, they did a complete interior clean on the house. I'm incredibly incredibly thankful for everything they did. While I do think the smell is still a tiny bit there (esp seeing as I still get a headache when I sit in the car for awhile), after all of this, I have a feeling that it might never go away as I think they did everything they could to take out the smell :/ With that being said though, again, I'm so thankful for how Daniel approached the situation, and I can see why now so many people are loyal to him and his team. Let me say up front that Like New got my car fixed FAST and did a great job. Now the details if you are really that bored or curious. I made an appointment to drop off my Kia Soul for a body repair shortly before closing on a Monday. I didn't hear from them on Tuesday, and I was busy at work so I didn't call to check. I got a call Wednesday morning and I was mentally ready to put pressure on them to try to have the car ready by Friday. Well much to my surprise they were calling to tell me that my car was done and ready to pick up! Dropped off Monday evening, ready for pick-up Wednesday morning. Fast! The work they did was flawless and I can't pick out where the damage was at all. Based on my experience, I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back again. read more

My experiences at Like New have been very hit or miss. They seemed disorganized and do not keep track of appointments whatsoever. These guys looked at my wife's car to try to find a small oil leak but were unable to do so. They had the car up on a lift and were wrenching stuff but didn't charge her because they didn't make any repairs. I really appreciate that because they did spend some time on the car. I've gone here twice for oil changes. Both times I called ahead to make an appointment. Both times there was only a sole mechanic working and he had no idea about any sort of schedule. The first time he changed my oil without issue but mysteriously the credit card machine wasn't working. The second time the same mechanic told me he had to finish up what he was working on but would give me a call when he was free after I gave him my number. He never called back. I also went here once to get an estimate on some body damage after being rear ended. Again, I made an appointment and was assured I was all set. Once I arrived, it was clear no one had any idea about any sort of appointment. I did manage to get a body guy to look at my car briefly in the parking lot and make a guess about damage or lack thereof but that was it. In general, I cannot speak to the quality of Like New's work but I can say with great certainty that they are disorganized and will likely waste your time if you try to do business with them. read more

I have used this business twice. The first time, to have a custom roof rack installed that required drilling holes in the roof of my brand new 2013 Subaru, which I had driven straight from the dealership where I had purchased it the same day. This was custom work and required precise measurements, pulling the entire roof liner and some careful drilling and welding. After a thorough discussion to make sure they new exactly what I wanted, they did the job in one day and it was perfect. The roof rack looks like it was designed just for my car. About 6 months later, someone scraped the rear passenger side corner of my car, denting a quarter panel and scrapping the paint. Back to Like New I went, and they took care of the problem in one day again, matching the white pearl paint perfectly. Like new is my "go to team" for auto-body work. read more

They found a used mirror to replace the once I destroyed and I paid half of what I would have paid at the dealership. Dean the mechanic was a pleasure to work with. Prior to coming to Like New, my boyfriend and I wen to two different auto repair shops and got quoted outrageous amounts of money. After looking at their reviews, we decided to speak to Dean at Like New about our 98 Honda Civic. Dean test drove the car, checked out fluids and even was patient enough with me to show ME how to check the fluids. Dean then told us that half of the things the other places claimed were wrong with the car wasn't even true. He wasn't trying to hustle or play games. He fixed our engine mount, thermostat, gasket, and added coolant and we are pleased with the service. When he was done he even took me into the shop and showed me the damaged pieces that he replaced. Sounded good when I called on the phone - person was competent and polite. When I arrived at the Falls Church location for an estimate, things were different. A worker bee took a quick look at the damage to my car door and quoted me $550. Knowing this was a rip-off, I asked him to put it in writing and told him I'd get back to him. Then the games started. "Well, we can actually do $500 if you leave your car here now." I declined and told him I planned to shop around. He eventually wrote it down -- not on an estimate form, but on a formal work agreement. I didn't sign it (of course) but I did provide my e-mail address so they could send me a formal estimate. I never heard from them again - no email, as promised. Maybe this was just an isolated incident -- the shop did look pretty nice and I know it just moved to FC. But if they think they're going to last in The Little City with prices and service like that, they're sorely mistaken. I ended up going to Jack's Auto Body in Bailey's Crossroads -- the estimate was $150 less, there was no pressure or gimmicks, and the work was great. read more

I have used Like New Automotive on three occasions over the past year. In all instances, everyone I dealt with was professional, committed to excellent customer service, provided very quick service at competitive prices and produced quality results. My first visit was for an interior and exterior detailing. It was the first time I had ever had a car detailed and was pleased that my car did look "like new." The second visit was after I had a run in with a pillar at the Home Depot in Merrifield, Virginia that resulted in substantial damage to the front and rear passenger doors. Of the several companies that I took the car to for estimates, I felt that Like New provided the most straightforward and was the most willing to answer my questions. They provided several options and I chose the one that would make my 2 1/2 year old car look "like new." It was the most expensive (naturally) but I didn't feel pressured to make that choice at all. In addition, Like New was the only company that was willing to work with my timeline. The third and last visit occurred only a few months after the second. I made the mistake of parking next to an enormous SUV/truck at the crowded parking lot at the Falls Church Giant, and when I came out of the Giant, the truck was no longer there, but a rather substantial paint chip was missing from my door. Once again, I chose Like New Automotive and was happy with the result. I'll definitely go back for detailing, but hope that I never have another incident where I need bodywork on my car. I've taken my car to Like New twice so far- July 2013 and March 2014. I found the prices to be a bit high, but they do a fantastic job. I've taken my car for full detailing to other places and was very disappointed. I rather invest the extra money and get great results. Daniel, the owner, runs a good business. He will call you back if you leave a message. He'll provide details over the phone, but will recommend to bring your car in for an estimate. You can specify exactly what you want done and there are different levels of auto detailing. I wouldn't recommend driving in without an appointment. They get very busy, especially as the weather warms up. Also, they spend anywhere from 6 hours to 2 days on a vehicle depending on the extent of the work, so you may be turned away if you just show up. I highly recommend this place. read more

I wanted to go to one place for all my cosmetic car issues. I bought my car new in 2005 and have never had any detailing done, just car washes. I had a bumper that was damaged and broken (my fiance ran over a big rock) and my wheels had become rusted under the hub caps. I treated myself to a new stereo from Electronics Plus and got everything done at Like New. It took them 2 and a half days to finish but it looks amazing. 95% of the bumps and scratches are gone and the interior is immaculate (some were too deep to remove). They are pricey, but would definitely recommend. I'm a very picky customer and every time I called them (ok, maybe I pestered a little) they were courteous and extremely professional. I hate dealing with car places that aren't respectful to women or think they are smarter. This was definitely not the case. Great service, great quality. read more

I have been here several times for mechanical work and I will continue to come here and have future body work done. They have everything from mechanics to autobody specialist, window tinting and detailing. Their prices are reasonable and realistic. The only issue with this location is lack of space for parking and maneuverability so I highly suggest to allow the employees park and/or place your vechicle.
