The German Chocolate cake with Fake fudge and premade coconut topping. Cake was ok but the fudge ruined everything about it.

My husband took me for my birthday... my wish when I blew out the candle was... can I get my money back and the 2 hours back from our trip here. Maybe it's because it was late at night but if that's the case they need to stop selling earlier. The German Chocolate Cake taste like they put Hershey's Fudge topping all over it. WTH? Who puts fake fudge on a cake that should taste like coconut. Oh and the coconut topping taste like it's out of a bag. There's no coconut flavor. Just because you don't like GCC doesn't mean you should cover up the flavor first those if us who do. We bought 4 other cupcakes. The pumpkin cubcake was overbaked. It was rubbery and the topping was tacky. Like I could have used it to fill in the holes in my walls. It was like they used glue but I think it marshmallow or fluff but it wasn't homemade. The other 3 cupcakes I just threw away because it was a waste. We asked for a cookies and cream shake but it was chocolate ice cream with cookies in it. Where did they put the cream part? Cookies and cream ice cream isn't chocolate ice cream. Then it should be called cookies and cocoa. I think I have given this place all the attention it deserves. I would waste money here. My husband can make better cupcakes out of a box and they will probably have issues but they won't be over priced or dry.

[Disclaimer: Cupcake focused review, I popped in right before closing, so I didn't peruse the other offerings.] Was so excited to stumble across this location in one of the newer shopping centers in Urbana! I've been to the Gaithersburg location before, so I knew I had to pop in to see what flavor cupcakes this store had last night when I drove by. This location seemed to have slightly fewer options, but still a variety of cupcakes. I am not sure what the flavor rotation might be, but most of the cakes were vanilla based, the Oreo one was a chocolate cake, but it might have just been that or maybe 1 other...the point being if you weren't looking for vanilla cake it was more limiting. I went with a box of 4 to be able to share/sample with the fam when I got home. I went with a Coffee, Cookie Monster, Vanilla with Vanilla & Sprinkles, and Vanilla with Chocolate frosting. They all had good flavor, the Coffee being the most interesting because there was more depth than just vanilla as the main flavor source. The other 3 were not bad, but it was more noticeable that they were more dry than I'm used to. I'm not sure if it was because it was the middle of the week and the last time I went to Gaithersburg was a weekend; or if foot traffic means Gaithersburg simply moves more product? But I'd say these were just a step down from what I usually expect for this price point on individual cupcakes. I would certainly stop in again as I feel this kind of shop is unique in the Urbana area still, and they do have other treats to offer as well. Friendly service right up to closing, can't ask for more! haha

I took a visit to Lil' Cakes & Creamery a couple of weeks ago. This was my second visit since their opening day. I wanted to try it out for the second time to see if my opinion changed about this place. The cupcakes are fine, just a little dry for my preference. They have an assortment of cupcakes, desserts like cookies and brownies, and ice cream. We ordered a 6 cupcake box with an assortment of chocolate and vanilla flavored cupcakes. You definitely can't keep the cupcakes for more than a day, so it's best to eat the day of. The service was prompt and friendly the day that I visited with my son. There were two young ladies working that day and they served us promptly. The ambiance is casual and there is plenty of seating to enjoy your treats in the store. I think it's a good addition to the Urbana community if you're feeling in the mood for a sweet treat.

We tried this place few times. They have variety of cup cakes with different flavors and toppings to choose from! The last time that we visited, we got 12 cupcakes. They were all moist and fresh. The cream was tasty. The lady who helped us was very polite and friendly! The store was clean and had a good size sitting area. Overall really really happy with this place and will definitely come back.

Cupcakes were all very good and had lots of flavor. I did find the icing to be too sweet. Young lady was helpful and moved quickly. Nice and clean as this is a new establishment in the area.

I was in Frederick, MD for some legendary local pizza and, as any reasonable person would, I wanted…read moredessert before making the 1 1/2-hour drive home. A server at the restaurant recommended Juno Bakery and confidently declared it the place for dessert in Frederick. Spoiler alert: She was right! I arrived at Juno on a beautiful June Saturday afternoon and the place was PACKED. It was actually hard to get back to the bakery cases because there were so many people happily loading up on sweet treats. While waiting for traffic to clear, I took a look around. The front of the bakery features several tables right beside huge plate-glass windows overlooking downtown Frederick. I immediately loved the idea of sitting in the sunshine, watching the world go by while shoving cake into my face. My kind of afternoon. I also appreciated Juno's hours. For a small bakery, they're impressive! 8am - 8pm Monday through Saturday and 9am - 6pm on Sundays. That kind of schedule makes spontaneous dessert side quests much easier. Eventually I made my way to the display cases and was blown away. Croissants, cookies, pastries, macarons, eclairs, savory items, cakes...so many beautiful things to choose from! Since I'd never been to a Korean bakery before, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. But I knew I was feeling cake. I posted up in front of the single-slice cake case, evaluated my options, and came to a perfectly rational conclusion. One slice? No. Two slices? Also no. Three slices? Now we're talking. Look, I didn't know what I'd like. I wasn't about to stand in line all over again if my first choice wasn't "the one." Surely I'd love at least one of them, right? I ordered a slice of the Carrot Cake ($6.60), a slice of the Blueberry Yogurt Cake ($5.99) and one of the mini Blueberry Cheesecakes ($7.55). My total with tax came to $21.35 and it was worth every penny! I asked to eat there and was handed paper plates and directed to the utensil station near the trash cans. I also overheard another customer being told that the restroom code was printed on paper receipts. Since I'd opted for an electronic receipt (no thanks to paper receipts!), I had to ask for the code separately. Not a huge deal, just a bit odd given that they offer electronic receipts. There are signs on the restroom doors explaining the process, but it's one of those little quirks worth mentioning. Armed with my three desserts and zero shame, I claimed a sunny table by the window and settled in. First up, the Carrot Cake. Dense. Super moist. Not overloaded with frosting, which I actually appreciated, much to my surprise, and absolutely delicious. It let the cake itself do the talking. Next came the Blueberry Yogurt Cake. This one was lighter and fluffier, with rich frosting and filling layered between. Best of all, it actually tasted like blueberries instead of just generic sweetness. The blueberry flavor screamed, "HEY! I'M A BLUEBERRY!" and I appreciated that. Then came the Berry Cheesecake. Oh. My. Goodness. This thing was rich, dense, and absolutely fabulous. It felt like eating an entire miniature cheesecake in slice form, which, honestly, is one of life's great joys! By the end of this little dessert extravaganza, I had consumed every single crumb of all three slices. Every. Single. Crumb. I had worried I might not love one of them. Turns out I had absolutely nothing to worry about. I still can't pick a favorite! Would I go back to Juno Bakery? Absolutely. Would I order three desserts again and demolish them like an absolute champion while sitting in the sun watching downtown Frederick live its life outside the window? Without hesitation. And now that I've discovered Juno Bakery, any trip close enough to Frederick just might require a mandatory dessert detour!

Owner chatted with us as we ordered and ate our goodies, and it was cool to be able to see them preparing other treats in the back. The treats we had were delicious. In order, I liked shortbread cookie, butterscotch blondie, and Earl Grey scone. To be fair, I might have liked the scone more than the blondie if I'd tasted the scone (less sweet) first. My son really enjoyed the rice crispy treat (with Lucky Charms cereal for St Patty's Day) and the cookie. However he LOVED the chocolate chip cookie sandwich (filled with chocolate and vanilla cream or icing) and said he would return just for that. Our 6 treats totaled $29.
