Seafood combo small clam chowder. 5 piece fish and chips and small clam chowder.
    Melissa C.

Clams were overcooked. Hard and crunchy. No taste of clams just hard corn meal breading. Fish was excellent. I won't order the CLAMS AGAIN. DEFINITELY fish and chips and chowder are worth coming back for.

Food was not bad. But service is not good. They forgot half of my order. They made me bring back all of my food to confirm that they forgot half. They didn't give anything in bags so we had to walk all the way back just show them. The burgers I ordered were supposed to have avocado none of them had avocado. The garlic fries were just a bunch of chopped up garlic thrown on top.

The fish and chips were perfectly fried with the right amount of breading so it didn't over power the delicate fish and flavorful tartar sauce. The fish was so fresh tasting and the skinny fries went perfectly with it! The clam chowder was a nice chunky consistency and tasty. For service, you order at the counter, get a buzzer and self service for condiments. Seating is outside of the hut with views of the marina. They don't serve beer but you can grab some at the bar next door. Plenty of parking all over so it's a perfect place to stop and have a quick bite!

This is my favorite spot to stop at every time I'm in the area. Honestly they're the perfect chicken tenders. They do have quite a few items on their menu but it's my go to when I visit. It's also nice because you can sit outside and eat by the ocean. Their fries are also the perfect amount of crunchy. We ended up eating here two times during our trip because we love it that much. My friend also ordered the fish and chips, she had been craving it since we came a while back. Everything tasted soooo good :')

On my way out of Morro Bay area, I saw Lil Hut Fish & Chips and was curious on its biz name so I dropped by to check it out. The exterior looks like a hut with the kitchen inside it. No inside seating, but there are outside seating. They have a good menu selections of fish & chips plus chowders along with burgers, hot dogs, salads, sides, and drinks. I went with their local favorite combo special that comes with 2 pieces of fried cod fish, garlic fries, cup of chowder, and garlic bread for $18.50. That was a pretty sweet deal! The young gentleman who took my order was nice. He gave me a buzzer and once my order was done, I got the buzz. Fried cod fish was very good... all fish lightly battered just the way I like it. It came with tartar sauce that I did not hesitate to use LOL. Garlic fries were surprisingly tasty. Chowder was so yummy... full of clams and other veggie ingredients. Garlic bread was decent... nothing spectacular. All in all, it was one delicious dinner! So glad I gave them a try. I would eat here again the next time I'm in Morro Bay. Thank you Lil Hut!

My friend recommended I visit here during my visit to morro bay. Honestly I'm not sure why the reviews are as low as they are, this is a super solid spot! It's right on the water and has great views of the rock. The singular downside is the slow service at the window, but that's about it. The food, however, was exactly what my partner and I were looking for as a snack before heading to Santa Barbara. We got garlic fries and clam chowder. The clam chowder was great--perfectly creamy and suited the cold winter day well. The garlic fries may have been some of the best fries I've had. Nothing fancy about them, just super crispy with an amazing crunch with every bite. They were super generous with the garlic, as garlic fries should be! Will definitely be back on my next visit

My partner and I came to Lil Hut for a snack on our Morro Bay trip and it was very yummy! It was a cute little walk up hut with a view of the water. We ordered the garlic fries and clam chowder; the clam chowder was very heart warming and I loved how much garlic were on the fries. The service at the window wasn't as fast as I would have hoped but the food made up for it. Definitely would recommend lil hut!

Had to come back and get the best fish & chips. It's hot, delicious, and the tartar sauce is the best. $17 is worth every penny. I have to get these everytime I'm in town and the view of morro rock and the smokestacks are iconic.

Absolutely TERRIBLE!!! Was Craving chili cheese fries and saw this place on the Google maps. I get there order my food and open the box there is few fries so I go back to the window to ask the cashier If I can please get a little more fries. He kindly takes the box hands It to the chef and tell him to put more fries. The chef gives me the dirtiest Look I've ever seen in my life, throws my box of food in the garbage and hands the cashier a new smaller set of fries to give to me !! He threw away my entire box then gave me this and the chef slammed the window to the order stand so I couldn't say anything about it! Do not come here !

    Tartar sauce-lots of dill, yum!
    Belen M.

Honestly, some of the best fish and chips I've had in a while. These are not heavy at all, a light batter and delicious tartar sauce with lots of dill. My husband had the shrimp tacos and he enjoyed them, but thought the salsa had room for improvement. Prices may seem steep, but it is convenient (close to parking lot), fast (with little-no line and your food is ready fast) and tasty! Location- I that it was a order and pick kind of place. There are benches and picnic tables in the area but we couldn't tell if all were for here or another restaurant. Either way, we got ours To go. Snd I know some will dock a star for the location not being sit down, but for parents of an active 10 month old, man it's helpful to just pick up something delicious or to even be able to order something "to go" just in case the little one is not having it while we eat haha. The only thing I will say that has me docking a star-the service. There are young gentlemen working the cashier and their customer service skills could use some sprucing up. They have air pods in one ear AND ask you to repeat yourself, they aren't super helpful with descriptions, and just overall look like they'd rather not be there. No need for ducts bros level service, just less air pods and more "thank you's" or "have a nice day". Ya know?

This is supposed to be a smash burger the burger is in fact not smashed.

This place sucks burgers are dry they could not get my families orders correct twice over. They messed up and spent 10 minutes to fix it and then they did it wrong again. I would not eat here if you are looking for a good burger. Their patties are frozen and dry and pretty much a hockey puck.

Live music compliments from a man with his guitar on a sunny sunsetting Friday afternoon and since they are dockside, you get to see the fishermen at work close by and it really provides the environment of a seaside town without it being overpriced and pretentious. We originally ordered a set of 4 grilled oysters, clam chowder, and as recommended by the cashier, a couple of the smoked shrimp tacos. The oysters were grilled to perfection with butter and garlic. Not dry at all and still juicy. The oysters were well shucked (no pieces of the shell ended up on the oyster) and it was already detached for easy eating. The smoked shrimp tacos were a great recommendation. I think the seasoning wasn't too complicated; salt, pepper, and a paprika to really let the shrimp do most of the talking. As for the clam chowder, I think it was okay. Came there only for the oysters anyways. As mentioned, we initially got a set of 4 grilled oysters but they were so good that we ended up coming back 30 minutes later to get 6 more after getting our last few pictures of the sunset next to Morro Rock. As for service, this is a take-out only joint, so besides the cashier taking your order, the bussers making sure the outside tables are clean to keep the seabirds away, and you picking up your own order, there is nothing more than that. Will be dreaming about those grilled oysters until we come back.
