    Fish tacos. Real good.
    Brad G.

Hey first time here. Great vibe and view. Ryan was slinging drinks and excellent plates of food. Fish tacos, and shrimp cocktail are excellent. I did see some lobster rolls come out for another table and they looked. Outstanding. Will be back soon.

The lobster bisque was absolutely delicious, but the wait was disappointing. We were seated and no one came over to our table for about 25 minutes. We eventually had to flag down a server just to place our order, and then waited another 35 minutes--even though we only ordered soup. Hopefully the service improves because the food was really good.

Food was decent needed more salt... We had the lobster Mac, steak with potatoes, shrimp and scallop pasta no sauce, and the sliders with fries. The server was Troy who was nice but seemed a little off today. We requested potatoes with the steak three times and still received rice but he fixed it. Then we spilled fries on the floor and were charged for the replacement. The food portions were good but the prices seemed outlandish for the sizes (I will post pics) and made me kinda think we were paying for the ocean view and the food. But that's inflation for you (thank you politics). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would not rush back to the environment, as the energy was low (one employee I get but, all 4? Come on), and gave the vibe that the staff were so over people but needed the money so yeah, at least we can say we tried it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Tri tip sandwich
    Amelia R.

The service was unfortunate. We never got our table checked on let alone had some water refilled. We ordered the tri-tip sandwich and the lobster bisque. The sandwich was very small. And the lobster bisque had no lobster. It was a very odd experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view itself was incredible, it does not make up for the lack of service and flavor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My boyfriend and I were in town visiting and decided to stop by Kicker's! We saw the reviews and the window views were phenomenal online... and the reviews did not disappoint. The food was excellent, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the vibes immaculate[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service top notch! Ryan was our server and he was incredible. He was full of life, great stories, and timely, thoughtful service. You'll have nothing short of an excellent time with him guiding the way. Thank you Kicker's and Ryan for being the best!

The server was so friendly and informative. They did not have a liquor license but can serve lesser proof alcohols. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cute restaurant by the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the salmon tacos and a piña colada. They did not disappoint. I enjoyed my food and drink. If I'm in the area I would return.

    Smashed Crab and Beef Melt
    Jackson C.

I got the Smashed crab and beef melt, and I bet it was one of the best things on the menu. Their fries were also very good and their ranch was fabulous. My mom got the rock n roll tacos and she said they were good, but a little lacking in the fish. The service was excellent and the food didn't take long to come out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and I loved the reggae music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is our usual dining spot whenever we take the trip out here, and this time around it was unpleasant. Our server was a blonde older lady who don't introduce herself by name, was quick to bro gout our waters, but when she toon our drink order, she only brought out my husband's beer. When I asked a few questions regarding items on the menu, her answers came across as though she was mildly annoyed. We waited until our food was brought out and I had to ask for a spoon that accompanied the dish I ordered and we reminded her of the soda my son had requested. Also when I unraveled the napkin wrapped silverware, the napkin had stains on it. Super gross!! I think we'll be giving this place a rest for a while. What a shame...

We tried Kickers because they are one of the few restaurants on the Embarcadero that serves Mac and cheese for kids. Our grandson loved it. I got the pasta and shrimp and scallops. It had a spicy tasty pasta sauce. Good service and a restroom near the entrance. View of the bay ambiance

    Taylor U.

Was excited to try this out as the reviews were pretty solid and I was excited about the oyster bar. I even made a reservation since it was for a Friday evening. Upon arriving we were greeted and sat rather quickly but didn't have anyone check on us for a solid 7 minutes. Once our server arrived we were ready to place our orders and were told "sorry we're out of the avocado ranch" along with "sorry we're out of the large beer glasses".....what..... Food was not that great, we ordered a clam chowder bowl, michelada oyster shooter, half a dozen oysters, fish and chips, and a shrimp salad. Soup tasted like bacon soup....Miche shooter was not very tasty and my oyster was warm... Would not recommend

Stop by this area to check out Morro bay. So we opted for this restaurant for brunch. First impression, no one was at the entrance waiting to greet (mind you they just had opened) we stood there for a few minutes waiting for the host. The gentleman that came out didn't welcome us or anything he just looked at us and I told him a table for 4. Took us to the back of the restaurant and seated us. The waitress was really nice. The food was ok. Unfortunately they did not have breakfast options even though the little flyer that I took from the entrance had breakfast on the menu. The waitress said that has taken out all the breakfast off the menu. I order the shrimp tacos the tortillas were old you can tell they were heated and then stored, and then reheated again. My husband ordered the smashed crab cake and beef melt with the choice of marble rye bread, which unfortunately, the waitress came back and stated that they were no marble rye so he swapped for sourdough. That melt was good. The kids tender and fries were good the kids enjoyed that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location was good and the decor looked nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Unfortunately, their sandwiches are about the same - at least the one I try. I ordered a turkey on a roll with lettuce, cheese, and mayo. The bread was still SO DRY that I couldn't like the sandwich at all. I did order a small pizza and a hotdog. These are new to the menu since I was there last. After waiting an incredibly long amount of time to get my order, I was at least happy with the pizza and hot dog. Glad to have a hot dog option next to the theatre so I can sneak one in!! I ordered extra cheese on the pizza but I didn't need to. I am happy to upgrade my star rating to 3-stars for those two new items. I am picky about the bread for my sandwiches and honestly the only one I liked was when you had the sliced wheat bread option available one day as a fluke. I will go to Mr. Pickles for my sandwiches from now on, but I might stop in for a pizza or a dog.

I…read morecan't say for sure that they were involved in this situation, but the store was completely sold out of chicken. Maybe all that bird watching worked up an appetite for bird. We read reviews. We looked at the menu online, then we walked from our hotel to the restaurant, planning to order a tri tip sandwich and chicken nachos, which were advertised as having either fried chicken or pulled chicken options. When we arrived, we were informed that they were out of both pulled chicken and tri tip. Not to fear, I told the clerk that we would have he nachos with friend chicken. Alas, they don't sell fried chicken anymore. I asked her what proteins they DID have. Ribs and pork loin, deli sliced were the only options. I asked if the nachos could be made with pork. They could. We ordered that and ribs. First, the good: the homemade potato chips are excellent. The BBQ sauce isn't bad. Now that we are done with that, down to the reality of the situation. I should have known better. We had been staying in a hotel not a hundred yards away for two days and hadn't smelled any smoke or BBQ. When we got back to our hotel room, we opened the boxes. Plating was attractive. The chips are good. A small side note. There is a gas station near my parents' house (North Fork Minit Mart if you are ever interested in visiting the geographic center of California) that purchases pre-seasoned ribs from Costco and cooks them in a crock pot full of sauce. If you like the ribs at this place, you will LOVE those ones. There was no smoke, no smoke ring, no evidence of BBQ at all. The name of the place is "savory smoke"... but the food is neither savory nor smokey. Thr ribs were tough, flavorless and stringy. Even a little salt would have helped. The rub was strale and "muddy". I'm not one who wants ribs to actually fall off the bone, but these you couldn't even get off the bone. The chips were good. The "nachos" were the chips (which are good), covered in canned cheese, flavorless baked pork loin in this case and onions. The onions and the chips stole the show. The chips are good. Incidentally, there is a bar next door that seemed steadily busy. My recommendation is that "savory smoke" give up the facade that they are in any way a BBQ join, because they simply aren't, knock down the wall to let the bar expand, and simply make chips for the bar patrons. The meat was trash. Thr chips were good. This place should be ashamed of itself.

Let's start by saying, very friendly owners. Was greeted with a big smile & a friendly "hi, how are you". Very welcoming. Son (assuming) was working the front counter, who is also very friendly & accommodating. Reminds of the type people you would like to have as neighbors. Alright, let's get to the food! Going to keep this short & sweet (which I like doing, being that's what most really want to know). The Pulled Chicken Sandwich is great! It's juicy, not over seasoned, mix of thigh & breast, topped with their BBQ sauce & coleslaw! What more do you want? Exactly, nothing! Perfect just the way it is. Nothing over the top, nor gimmicky. I truly like this pulled chicken sandwich! The Fried Raviolis are also good, nice app to add. Looking forward to trying their Tri-Tip sandwich, hopefully it's as good! All in all: Very friendly service, great food, small menu, comfortable ambiance. Will definitely become among my favorite places here in Morro Bay.

Tourists flood the…read morebeaches, traffic crawls through Pismo, and every scenic overlook suddenly becomes a photoshoot for people who discovered the central coast three days ago. So my girlfriend and I did what locals do this afternoon: we tried to escape the madness and disappear into Los osos for a few hours. Not that there's any "sneaking into" High Street Deli. That line is eternal. It exists outside the laws of time and tourism. Rain or shine, weekday or holiday weekend, there will always be a crowd gathered outside chasing the same thing: the perfect sandwich on the perfect California afternoon. And honestly? They're right. Nothing beats a High Street sando on a sunny day. You grab a Dutch Punch and a cold Cali Squeeze and suddenly everything slows down. The sandwich arrives absurdly overstuffed with layers of turkey, extra bacon, jalapeño havarti, onion, tomato, avocado, chipotle mayo, Dutch crunch bread that's barely surviving the structural pressure holding the whole masterpiece together. It's messy in the way all truly great food is messy. No pretension. No carefully curated "elevated deli experience." Just pure Central Coast comfort engineered for people who spent the morning surfing, hiking Montana de Oro, or sitting in beach traffic questioning their life choices. And the Cali Squeeze? Citrus beer sweating in the afternoon heat while ocean air drifts through Los Osos. That's the high locals chase all summer long. What hurts is admitting publicly how good this place really is. Every local wants to protect High Street like a secret fishing spot. You want visitors to enjoy the coast, just maybe somewhere else first. But denying High Street its flowers would feel dishonest. Because this place is the heartbeat of the Central Coast in summertime. The patio fills with surfers, old locals in sun-faded hats, Cal Poly kids, dogs asleep under picnic tables, couples lingering over beers because nobody here is ever truly in a hurry. Somebody's talking about swell conditions. Somebody else is debating whether to head to Morro Bay after lunch. The smell of sandwiches, sunscreen, and salt air hangs over everything. It's not glamorous. It's better than glamorous. It's real. And somewhere between the first bite of a Dutch Punch and the first sip of a Cali Squeeze, you remember why people who grow up on the Central Coast never fully leave even when they move away. Because they spend the rest of their lives trying to recreate afternoons like this.
